If I ever forget what it was like to be a kid playing outside and if I ever start phoning the cops whining about the children playing outside. Please come get me, haul me away and end it then and there. If I ever become one of these whiners who complains when children play, I do not deserve to live as I will cease being a rational human (LOL some might question if I am rational now, but that's another can or worms ). See Virginia there is a Santa Claus and some of your wishes can come true. I had close to a foot of wet snow in my driveway yesterday (a lot of that was snow drifts) and now there is a 4 foot high snow bank next to my driveway after shoveling (good exercise). Lots of snow. But I remember I think it was the Spring of 2004 when the Front Range got walloped with a massive Spring storm that paralyzed millions of people from Fort Collins down to Pueblo. Ironically myself and another work colleague actually made it into the office that day (we both own Wranglers) and another work colleague emailed us telling us he could not make it into work because his Jeep (only a Cherokee) got stuck in the snow. Myself and John (other guy who made it to work) looked at each, laughed and in unison said "That's not a Jeep". Moral of the story, the joke was on myself and the other Wrangler owner John as we could have easily had a snow day like everyone else. Be nice ... next time I will pray doubly hard to the weather Gods and instead of 1-3" of the white stuff you will get 4'. ROFLMAO. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I think these basketball hoops seizures are even more severe, but earlier this year this was a problem in a suburb of Montreal where they wanted to ban street hockey. I could not believe it when I heard this. I grew up playing street hockey (we played all year long, winter and summer) and yes I actually grew up in this very same suburb that all of a sudden wanted to ban street hockey. It's not like we are talking about playing on a busy street. We played on quiet residential streets. When a car came by someone yelled out CAR!!!, we stopped, moved the nets, let the car pass and then picked up where we left off. Imagine, trying to ban hockey in Canada? This is just like trying to ban baseball or basketball in the USA. Why? We should be encourage kids (actually encouraging everyone) to be more active. We should NOT be taking sports away from them. Our politicians (Federal, State/Provincial and Municipal) are out of control. http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/Canada/20100324/montreal_hockey_100324/ Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Wow ... Why? ... I do not understand. Isn't there an obesity problem in society? Doesn't having a basketball hoop have a chance in promoting people to be active, to play sports to possibly burn some calories? Why is the government seizing basketball hoops? The people behind these seizures should be ashamed of their behavior. What's next? Seizing baseball bats, hockey sticks and golf clubs because they could be used as weapons? Bastards!!! I will be praying to the weather Gods now. Praying to shift the winds which predominately come from the West to shift and come from the East. Then pray to have some monsoonal moisture come up from Mexico while we send some arctic cold air down from Siberia (oops I mean Canada). Eastern winds, moisture from Mexico and cold from Canada means five feet of snow on the Front Range. Please make it happen, please make it happen. There should not be a skydiving going on in CO this weekend under sunny 80F temperatures. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

It's snowing today in Calgary. What's the weather like on the Front Range? Make no mistake, I do miss CO. But our economy up here in Oilberta does have a promising future ... if you can handle living in a climate that emulates Siberia. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Donald Trump is a major doofus. Next subject ... What is Obama after sending the CIA into Libya? You sure love to dish out your chicken and dumplings while you turn a blind eye when the Colonel is making the same dish you criticize so much. If the Colonel is guilty of being a chicken monger (and Trump is sounding like one in this interview), then so the fuck are all the McDonald's patrons. Or are you blinded by all those McNuggets that cascade like a righteous rain from the skies above Libya. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
Yes good beer at the Walnut Brewery. But don't forget the Rio. There is a reason why they try to cap your margarita consumption there to three drinks (though there are ways around it). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Maybe it was me? I lived in Boulder for 4 years. Who's to say those tracks are new? Boulder is an interesting town. It is an ubber Liberal town, but besides the ubber Liberals there are lots of different types of people there. You have the students from the University (they sure like to party at that school), you have your professionals, there are world class athletes who come from around the world to train while in Boulder. there is no shortage of tree huggers, no shortage of pot heads (fortunately Boulder does not appear to have a problem with hard drugs) and you even have a contingent of illegal workers (though they are hidden away when they are not working). Yup Boulder is an interesting town. When I am old an senile (maybe I am already old and senile) I can look back and say "Yes I called Boulder home for 4 years of my life". The scenery was outstanding though. I lived in the shadows of the Flat Irons. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Didn't this whole US Military + NATO involvement start as a way to protect Libyan civilians from being murdered by Khadafi loyalists? Wasn't this the mission? To protect the civilians? Yet now we hear ... no it's about regime change ... no it's about removing Khadafi from power. Personally I think Muammar is a few birds short of being a sane person. Heck you can go back to the 1980s when Khadafi was acting like a loony bird. But you know damn well if the shoe was on the other foot, you know damn well that if an Elephant was in the White House instead of the present Donkey, certain people around here would be going absolutely ape shit about this new war the war mongers got the US into. But since it is a Donkey who has ordered cruise missiles to strike Libyan targets, since it is a Donkey who has ordered air strikes, since it is a Donkey who has ordered the CIA to enter Libya, all is well in the military industrial complex. Oh the irony ... Question: Will Barack Obama win another Nobel Peace Prize for this new war of his? Will Barack Obama win another Nobel Peace Prize if he succeeds in assassinating Khadafi? As Robert stated the other day, no other Nobel Peace Prize winners (combined) have fired as many cruise missiles than Barack Obama has ordered fired. I wonder if the people in Norway who select these Nobel Peace Prize winners are now second guessing themselves. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I had to post in this thread just to see how many posts I have made (though I do know my posts here are greater than my jump numbers). So how many posts do I have? I will need to press the magic "send" button before I know. Oh yeah, there it is. Just as I suspected. I have posted more on dizzy.com than I have jumped. Sue me. There is nothing stopping you from opening up your own business. There is nothing stopping you from ensuring 100% of the employees in this new business are unionized with high salaries, full benefits and offering fully indexed pensions. There is nothing stopping you from doing all of this. If you think you can do better than everyone else, if you think you can be the employer role model, then please go for it. Shows us all how it's done. Business is NOT is business to employ people (that is only a by product of being in business). Business is in business to make money. How do people earn high salaries at their jobs? They earn high salaries by offering up a service to the businesses that are in high demand but where little expertise in the market exists. If everyone had the skill and experience to [insert your favorite high paying profession here] then businesses would not need to pay these people high salaries. Supply and demand. Want a high paying career? Well you better have skills that are in demand but where the labor pool for these skills are in short supply. The world is changing and it is changing fast. If people are not willing to adapt to this ever changing world, they will be left behind. Whoever told you life would be easy was clearly lying to you. The world is changing. Gone are the days where you get a job for life complete with full benefits and fully indexed pensions. People who are not willing to adapt to this ever changing world will be left behind. People who rely on governments to get themselves through life will continue to be disappointed. I have a simple question for you. If/when people find themselves out of work what should they do? 1) Be proactive towards bettering themselves and possibly create their own job? or 2) Sit back and whine what a victim of the world that they are? I am losing my job in one month (LOL I was supposed to lose it one year ago, so I have been given plenty of warning) and it is debatable as to whether or not I will be able to find a new job in my field. As a 26 year veteran of the software development industry, I am having a harder time finding opportunities in my field. This is partly because the industry is changing and the jobs in software are relocating to places like India, and it is also a case of competition in the field is getting tighter and companies would rather hire the younger worker. Does this make me a victim? Fuck no ... I will NOT be a victim ... if I can not find work in the area of my expertise, I will not sit back and whine "where is my government check", I will find some way to re-invent myself. Take responsibility for your future people. Stop being such whinny victims. Whoever told you life would be easy, was clearly lying to you. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Without a doubt Japan is going through a difficult time right now, but here is an example of the domestic media up here in Canuckistan going too far. Oh my a 4.7 earthquake just hit Western Quebec. Stop the presses people as this 4.7 shaking is now the #1 "Breaking News" domestic story for the Mother Corps and their loyal lemmings. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/story/2011/03/16/earthquake-western-quebec.html Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Just curious, since the Tuscon shootings, how many people have died due to heart disease? How many people have died due to terminal illnesses such as cancer? How many people have died due to drug overdoses? How many people have died due to alcohol abuse? How many people have died due to traffic accidents? etc, etc, etc. I know I never want to be shot. There is nothing good that can come from being shot. There is always the chance that I will become a victim of a random crime spree. But for me I can reduce the odds of myself being shot simply by not associating with people who rely on crime to make their money. If I avoid the criminal element, my odds of being shot are greatly reduced. Instead of focusing on the inanimate object, shouldn't we be focusing on why some people choose a life of crime to make their money? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
