  1. Trivial matter? I guess you are now in favor of Obama waging war in the Middle East and North Africa while he plays politics slagging off the Oil Sands and how horrible they are considering they contribute what was it again? a whopping 0.1% of the world's greenhouse gases. Keep telling yourself that your addiction to Middle East oil is a trivial matter. ROFLMAO Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  2. There is no tar in the Oil Sands. Just because enviro-fruitcakes have a special name for it does not mean a world leader should be using the same derogatory name. Obama is just showing how disrespectful he is when he refers publicly to the Oil Sands as Tar Sands. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  3. President Barrack Obama has waded into the murky Oil Sands debate, suggesting the resource is potentially "destructive." Obama showed little respect when he called the "Oil Sands" "Tar Sands". There is no tar in the "Oil Sands" Barrack. I thought you were supposed to be smart. A smart person knows there is no tar. Calling the Oil Sands, Tar Sands is a favorite among the environmentalists and now it sure sounds like Obama is trying to make the environmentalists think he is on their side. Except Obama has also said "The USA has to reduce it's dependency on Middle East oil". So there you have it, Obama speaking out of both sides of his mouth lashing out at the Oil Sands to appease the environmentalists while at the same time he damn well knows he can not reduce the US dependency on the Middle East without the Oil Sands. http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Canada/2011/04/07/17904596.html BTW ... the Oil Sands (located mainly in Alberta Canada, but similar deposits of oil also exist in Saskatchewan) are the 2nd largest known oil reserves in the world and these Oil Sands are the largest supplier of oil to the USA. The Oil Sands presently contribute about 5% of all of Canada's Greenhouse Gases (it is predicted this will rise to about 8% in the years to come) and they produce 0.1% of the Greenhouse Gases for the entire world. So what is it Obama? Are you going to continue to play politics telling the world that you do not approve of the hated "Tar Sands" while you continue to wage war in the Middle East for their oil for your political gain? Or are you serious about reducing the USA's dependency on the Middle East and will accept that the "Oil Sands" and their 0.1% contribution to the world's Greenhouse Gases are not as bad as you claim that they are. Stop speaking with that Forked Tongue oh great one, savior of the world. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  4. Of course those were my words and are only my opinions. But if this kid does not show radical signs of reform over the years, I would continue to take a stand that he is a "Ticking time bomb". If this kid does not show radical signs of reform, he should not be allowed to possess firearms. Of course he could still obtain them illegally. I am all for individual gun rights, but mentally unstable people should be excluded. The challenge is, who gets to decide who is mentally unstable. 5. I agree the 8 year old does not know much about what he speaks of. But you are not aware of how our media packaged up this story. It was a 30 second story and went something along the line of: "Denver police were called out to investigate a disturbance at a school where an 8 year old was acting up. Denver police ended up pepper spraying the young boy because he would not cooperate with the demands of the police" ... the media then cuts to the mother ... "they treated my son like a common criminal, I am sure what my son was doing was not right but he is 8 years old" ... the media then cuts to Aidan where he says ... "they pepper sprayed my eyes so I couldn't see" ... the media ends the story with ... "this was the 3rd time the police were called out to deal with a disturbance from this boy". That's it end of the story according to our media as they cut away to their next story. Hardly a balanced view of what happened with our media's selective editing. 6. Colbert is all over the map. The only method to his madness is that he is trying to be funny ... and it works. The guy is hilarious. Stewart is similar, but he does tend to go to bat for some Lefties issues. However he is still looking for laughs and in no way should ever be compared to true Lefties such as Overbite. 7. It wasn't me, but ... This story was run on one of our major media providers last night in their late night news stories. But a funny thing happened along the way. The media did not show the video clip where the boy was being interviewed telling the world "I have anger issues, I don't think they will ever go away". Our media only focused on how the "Cops pepper sprayed an 8-year old boy". If I had not see the video clip you posted first and only watched what my media wanted me to see, I too might have walked away thinking something different. 9. This is good ... MSNBC turfed Overbite and FOX turfs Beck maybe some sanity will be restored ... hmmm who am I kidding. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  10. Glen Beck wasn't too bad when he was on CNN. He was annoying but he didn't use the ridiculous props like he used on Fox. I watched him a few times on Fox and shut him off and have not watched him since. I won't miss him. But I am sure he will resurface in some point in time. 11. Judging on this brat's current behavior and if he does not show radical signs of improvement, he absolutely needs to be red flagged and be excluded from future firearms ownership. But there is nothing stopping him from obtaining illegal firearms. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  12. "It's just who I am. I have anger issues. I don't think they will ever go away" - Aidan the 8 year old If this is not a red flag to a future felon (possible mass murderer) I don't know what is. Society is in a deep spiral and it can all be traced to poor parenting. I don't have an easy answer to this kid (at least not an answer Liberals would accept). But this kid needs a radical make over. Hugs, kisses, sugar plumbs, unicorns and teddy bears will not cure ticking time bomb. BTW ... I support the cops for pepper spraying the brat. How else were they supposed to control him? He did arm himself with a sharp piece of wood and even an 8 year old can use a sharp piece of wood to impale another person. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  13. According to the people who follow the flying spaghetti monster I am going to hell. But that is just a risk I am going to have to take. You see the universe is a very big place and if we are alone as the flying spaghetti monster's book says we are, it is an awful waste of space. At least in hell I will have some company. 14. I think I am hijacking this thread. I really only came here to tell Amazon that getting mad about politics wasn't worth it. To get back on topic, for me the best time to live in the USA was between 1998 and 2005. In fact 2005 was the best. I took the summer off and skydived full time that summer. But all good things must come to an end and contrary to popular belief, I was NOT deported as some continue to insist I was. I voluntarily left. I may return one day, but right now it is cheaper for me to live where I am since my house is paid for and my only expenses are food, transportation, insurance, taxes and utilities (we get taken to the cleaners with our internet and utilities ... some of the highest in the world). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  15. That's different. You were a tourist. They wanted you to spend money. It's different when you live here. You will need to register your firearms so that the gun grabbers will have a shopping list when the time is right. Did you know that the Liberals passed a law that allows the police to enter your home anytime they want without a search warrant if you happen to be a registered firearms owner. Thank you Alan Rock and the LPC for your Fabian Socialist Police State. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  16. Story of my life. Come on Robert you should know me well enough. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. Once again sometimes it is best to step away from politics when it is making you angry. I have stepped away our campaign because it has taken a turn for the worst with the most wild accusations being tabled. The funniest thing though, no matter how hard the media tries to change people's opinions, the polls just show the front runners are made of teflon which of course causes the media to go even more viral to attempt to bring down the front runner. But once again the front runner remains the front runner. So the media goes even more viral, etc, etc, etc. It truly is comical what is going on up here right and it's just not worth it. They all suck... some just suck more than others. If the Liberals do win, you really should consider moving here because in a few years they will drive all businesses out of the country, they will nationalize everything and we will be a Fabian Socialist State. Oh ... LOL ... I just remembered why you can't move here. The Fabian Socialist Liberal Party of Canada will demand you turn over all your guns. They only want the criminals to be armed. 18. Wherever did you get the idea that I was an atheist? I'm agnostic. Big difference. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  19. You know I find when politics is making my blood pressure rise, it's best to step away from it for a while. Politics is just not worth it. You will never please everyone all the time. You know Canada is in the middle of an election right now. If the Liberals win (current polls say they won't, but the media is working extra hard to change these polls) you might want to consider moving to the lower mainland. The Liberals have taken a radical step to the left with their election platform and are pushing socialism like this country has never seen before. You might actually enjoy living in a society of "anti-business" high taxation, free healthcare ... if you don't mind waiting in line to get it and of course it won't be state of the art. But it will all be bliss because people don't need to care for their children any more. The Liberals have promised everyone that they will start raising everyone's children for them. It will be socialist nirvana if the Liberals succeed in their power grab. You might just like their brand of Kool Aid seeing as you are obviously not happy where you are. 20. Comrade how many times do I have to tell you, this isn't the line for food. It is the line for shoes. The line for food starts over there. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  21. Make no mistake this election will be decided by the people of Ontario (905ers possibly even 416ers). Quebec will be mostly Bloc except for Montreal (Liberal) and the Conservatives might hold on to a few QC seats (they are right leaning people). Maritimes will be a mixture of Conservative (rural MPs) and Liberal (urban MPs). Manitobia will be a mixture of Conservative, Liberal and NDP. Saskatchewan should mostly be Conservative (Ralph may hold on to his Regina seat who knows). Alberta will be Conservative (no brainer), even the Edmonton riding should go back to Conservative after what Jack said in Quebec about the Oil Sands. Rural BC should be Conservative (thanks to the gun registry) and the lower mainland will be mostly NDP with some Conservative (I think the NDP will shutout the Liberals). Not sure about Vancouver Island. Probably a mixture of Conservative and Liberal. Will Lizzy May get her seat? Depends on the activist vote. The betting man says another Conservative minority and more dysfunction in parliament. But a majority is possible if the 905ers and some Maritimers switch sides. The Conservatives don't need Quebec if Quebec is mostly Bloc. LOL ... conspiracy theory time. I think Igantieff is purposely setting himself up to fail (he may not even win his own riding). I think the Liberals know they don't have a hope in hell in winning more seats than the Conservatives. I think the Liberals are actually trying to steal votes away from the Greenies and the NDP and take their voter subsidy money. Ignatieff goes back to Boston and the Liberal's messiah Justin Trudeau takes over (after Bob Rae has some time as interim leader). In this conspiracy scenario the NDP is broke, Greenies are broke ... nation eventually gets sick of the Conservatives (they can't rule for ever) and the Liberals have their messiah waiting in the wind. Of course this is one big conspiracy theory of mine. I liked Ken Dryden the goalie. But Ken is too angry as a politician. Dominik Leblanc might be a John Manley type of guy (not sure) in which case he would be easier to stomach than Trudeau JR. The thing about the Trudeau brand. He may be a God in Montreal and Toronto (possibly the maritimes too), but the Trudeau brand does not go over well in parts of Quebec and Western Canada. If Ignatieff is not purposely trying to tank his campaign and he actually wins (I can't see it, not with the present polls), he better watch what he does with this promised "Cap 'N Trade" system. There are still patriotic Canadians in the West, but we won't stand for Ignatieff destroying the Oil Sands. Canada needs to Oil Sands to pay for equalization. Ignatieff better not try to cut off the hand that will pay for all of his socialism. Therefore I am hoping the 905ers come in and save the day. So much for not talking about the election. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  22. Hey that's a few more things we can agree on. Who would have thunk it. The Bloc Quebecois would not be the Bloc Quebecois if this federal voter funding was not there and yes impress me by spending your own money, not the tax payers money. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  23. You are correct. It was temporarily one of their top stories but has since been relegated to the rest of the side stories (probably because it did not gain the traction they were hoping for). Presently their two top stories on the election page are: - "Ignatieff slams Harper over ex-aide's convictions" - "McGuinty demands equal treatment from Ottawa" McGuilty is whining ... good grief ... This may be hard for some of you to believe but there is a Liberal I like and I really wish he would step up to the plate and stop some of the nonsense. The Liberal I like is John Manley. I didn't give him much credit when he was in office, but now compared to the current batch of Liberals I see Mr Manley was a class act. But as I said in my first post I didn't want to talk about the Canadian election. They all suck, every last one of them. Some just suck a lot more than the others. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  24. I will agree with this. But I disagree with your assessment that the CBC isn't trying to engineer a scandal. You know presently we don't have a "Carbon Trading" system. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  25. I have been trying to avoid posting anything about Canada's election campaign going on right now. Trust me there have been some real doozies going on with some hardcore promises of socialist nirvana being dished up by several of the parties. But I don't want to talk about these socialist promises. I want to talk about our tax payer funded state run media and how they just gave us something today that was too much to ignore. Turns out the CBC (who is in love with the Liberals) has decided to attempt to engineer a scandal on how the Conservative Party did NOT buy any carbon credits for all the national travel they are doing crisscrossing the nation while all the other political parties did buy their carbon credits (by the way Canada currently does NOT have a Cap n' Trade system). Oh and here is a little background on the major parties here so that you can understand their respective carbon foot prints. 1) The Conservatives are a national party and must travel across this big country. 2) The Liberals are a national party and must travel across this big country. 3) The NDP are a national party and must travel across this big country. 4) The Bloc Quebecois are a party advocating Quebec separation (why they are allowed to run in national elections is still a mystery) and the Bloc stays exclusively in Quebec. So their carbon foot print is not nearly as big as the previous three national parties. 5) The Green Party of Canada is supposed to be a national party. In fact they will be running candidates in almost every riding in this election. So they are a national party, except their leader is so obsessed about winning her seat (The Greenies have never elected an MP to Parliament) that she is not campaigning for any other of her candidates she is only driving around the riding she is desperate to win in her Prius automobile. You can read more about this CBC scandal here: http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canadavotes2011/story/2011/04/04/cv-election-carbon-footprint.html Now is it just me, or does anyone else notice pollution has not changed. Everyone is going about their business polluting the country as they crisscross the nation trying to win votes. It's just that 4 of 5 parties have decided to give some money to some 3rd party people (money for nothing?) and the publicly funded state run media broadcaster is just having a field day trying to engineer a scandal. Yeah I am sorry it is obviously just me. Everyone knows that giving someone money to make yourself feel good about polluting stops pollution. How silly of me. I guess I need to check myself into Big Red Tent where I can be properly indoctrinated into their Fabian Socialism. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
