  1. It's been a few years since I've rented, but you should be able to rent shoes for $20 (maybe less) for an entire day. So I'm not telling anyone to run out and buy a pair. Normal running shoes can be used on the lower difficulty feature and/or crack climbs, but not on friction climbing. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  2. Kathryn Welcome to triple digits. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  3. Unfortunately in most cases, normal running shoes will NOT be okay. Climbing shoes are really gummy on the soles of the shoes (if I can describe them that way) in order to adhire to the rock. Believe it or not, climbers are supposed to use their legs more than their arms while on a pitch (especially when friction climbing). Oh here's a good question for Kelli. Do you know if the routes will be feature climbing, friction or crack climbing? If we are crack climbing we will want to bring enough tape to create some tape gloves for everyone (assuming I even remember how to make them). 4. 5.8 (maybe 5.9) is my limit. Some of that other stuff you talk of is way beyond my abilities. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  5. Lew You've got the perfect climbers body (tall, slim and athletic). If you weren't a bad ass skydiver and/or volleyball player, I'm sure you could easily be a bad ass climber. BTW ... I've got to run and catch what's left of the Broncos game (I over stayed my half time DZ.COM time). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  6. Hey Matt It's a good thing you didn't sleep in your tent. Otherwise that thing would have entered your body through your rear end and then out your belly like aliens and then the Bytch would have had to clean up the mess her boogie made. It was good to meet you even though we didn't chat much (was I drunk or did I just not see you much Saturday night?). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  7. I'm in!!! I was rock climbing crazy during the summer of 2000. Rock climbing rocks and taking a day off of jumping during the boogie will help my bank account. I've got a full rack and a rope. Plus people will want to bring their climbing shoes and a belaying device if they have them as well as their harness and chalk bag (or of course the harness, shoes and belay device can all be rented). So what difficulties were you guys talking about and do you know the good climbing areas near Eloy? And unless the experience levels are pretty good, I'd recommend top roping some pitch(es) instead of sport or trad climbing (even though I like the good trad climbs, but I'm not ultra experienced and/or talented myself and haven't climbed in 3 years). 8. I caught you in view on the exit, but that was the last time you were seen on the video. From there I remembered that Eener was assigned to be the base and I started chasing after her and I got Eener, Skymama and I believe SkydiverBrian in view. I didn't get as close as I wanted to be to Eener, but that might have mean cutting Skymama off and I didn't want to do that (at one point of the dive Skymama didn't know how close I was to her, but I could almost touch her as I flew behind her). But then the chase for Eener was already well under way (I was surprised that she fell as fast as she did). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  9. I couldn't jump there as well. I'm .1 over their limit for my current jump numbers. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  10. Hey no worries about the name ... you sure did a good job getting into all of Katie's video. I don't know who was seen more you, Chuck or the Bytch. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  11. As a hetro male, I can't believe I am saying this. But Jameson looks much better in person than he does in his Avatar (so yes he needs to change it). And in my brief conversations with the dude, he did come off as a good guy. I believe Jameson did jump a little, but I felt sorry for some of the lesser experienced jumpers who couldn't or didn't jump this weekend due to the winds. Guys like Matt, Jameson, Dagny and Brian's friend just sat around while some of us were getting on loads. It was sad. But Dagny did get her jump in on Sunday and was all smiles (even though she did have an interesting cross-wind landing). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  12. Bring your rig!!! There are weekends when Mother Nature decides that she won't let people jump, but we do jump all 12 months of the year. Obviously things are a lot slower in the winter months, but we do jump. In fact I believe I have only missed 3 weekends of jumping since the beginning of this year. But I should also point out that sometimes I have travelled to different DZs when I can't jump at my home DZ. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  13. Actually I think it's kind of cool that you're showing so much enthusiasm for this sport (or should I say life style). Keep up the good work and we'll see you at the DZ very soon. Weather permitting, I will be in Brush next weekend, but I'll be back at Mile-Hi before you know it and we'll have to introduce ourselves to each other. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  14. Cool ... oh Greg is a very good freeflier. On that jump we made together, he was able to get right in your face. How long has he been jumping and how many jumps does he have? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  15. You know I don't think I saw you when I was saying good bye to every one. But I just wanted you to know that I had a great time, you guys at Sebastian rock and you will see me visiting again. By the way, what's English Ian's girlfriend's name who works in manifest? I met her very briefly from Colorado last year and she was real sweet to me all weekend (in fact she gave me a good bye hug) and I feel like a smuck because I forgot her name. PS: I never got to tell you this, but I really liked what you wrote last weekend in the Women's forum concerning women and swooping. It told me that not only are you an awesome gum chewing girl (how much gum can you fit in your mouth), but you've also got a good head on your shoulders. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  16. Hey you're giving credit to the wrong screen name. But that's okay, I'll let you chalk it up to alcohol poisioning. 0:4:1 I attended the Bytch Boogie in Sebastian FL and while the high winds did limit our jumping, on Saturday I did a 3-way freefly with Mike (I forget his screen name) and Jib. A 4-way freefly with Jib, Greg (Sunnydee's better 1/2) and Sunnydee123. A really cool high alt' cross-country hop n' pop where they put us out over the ocean and we flew back to the DZ (with myself and Jimbo dog fighting under canopy along the way). Then on Sunday before I had to leave for the airport, myself and Skymama were going to do a 2-way freefly. But before you know it, SkydiverBrian, Eener, Katiebear and Aviatrr had joined us for a 6-way freefly. It was a semi-zoo dive, but fun never the less and I was really surprised to see Eener's relatively fast fall rate (who was base) for such a small girl (by the way, I got decent video footage of Eener and Skymama from this dive and I believe SkydiverBrian also shows up on the video). All in all, it was a great weekend to meet some new and very interesting people as well as renew friendships with some folks (The Bytch, SkymonkeyOne and Katiebear) who I have partying with at Eloy as well as in Rantoul. What's also interesting is that there are four people who I know from Colorado (Chris, Vlady, Ian and Ian's girlfriend working in manifest, I wish I could remember her name as she was sweet to me all weekend) who are all now working at Sebastian. Oh, and I do owe beer for jumping at Sebastian for the first time and I'm sorry to all who were there for me not paying up as I didn't want to leave the party Saturday evening to go to the beer store. But there appeared to be plenty of alcohol so my case wasn't missed? I'll pay up next time for sure. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. At the time I was disappointed that I missed the bus to Wendy's Saturday night. But in retrospective, I think it was a good thing. I had drunk enough that night, but if I had gone to Wendy's, I likely would have stayed up until the wee hours poisoning myself even more. This way, with the partying at the DZ dying at around midnight, I was able to get some sleep and be human in the morning. All in all, it was a good time and I got to meet numerous new DZ.COM people. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  18. Happy Sky-birthday!!! Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  19. Kalyne, you are an evil evil person for trying to convert your brother into your or should I say our addiction? I mean he's a perfectly good whuffo and you want to turn him into one of us? Hmmm ... I'm happy that you're still very much thinking about your addiction though. Keep up the good work and get some jumps in when you can. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  20. well said what a great weekend. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  21. It was great seeing you as well and Eloy isn't all that far off. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  22. Andrea, you are SUCH a wussy chimp! Don't forget you also called Andrea a drama queen. Well I survived the Bytch boogie and am at home safe and sound. This was not a cheap weekend for me, but I feel I came out of it a much richer person than I was going in. I had a great time and despite Mother Nature and her winds messing with some of our jumping, we all managed to spread great vibes and love amongst each other. There are so many great memories, that it's hard to know where to start. I hope to see all of my old DZ.COM friends as well as all the new DZ.COM people I met this weekend again soon. I'm not sure exactly when it will happen, but expect to see me visiting Florida again. To Chuck, Katie, Andrea, Denise, Greg and any others who were at Sebastian this weekend and plan to be in Eloy for the holiday boogie, we will see each other real soon ... and how will we be drinking in Eloy? We will be drinking like Vikings. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  23. My flight arrives in Orlando at 10:00 pm. So expect to see me at Hirams sometime after midnight I think? By the way, I'll be leaving even worse weather conditions than what's going on in FL right now, so you can't blame me for bringing any bad weather. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  24. Awe a cutie kneeling on a keg of beer. You just found the keys to my heart Alana. To bad you're likely not interested in using them. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
