  1. She's out of her mind. I was exposed to some hard core right wing Christians while I was living in Colorado Springs a few years ago (the Springs is kind of a hub for numerous religious groups including the very mixed up Focus on the Family organization) and everything was the Devil this and the Devil that. If I did something bad, it was because of the Devil. My actions had nothing to do with it. I was possessed by the Devil and God (their God) needed to clense my soul. I'm not against people with religious beliefs. But I sure would wish they would keep their beliefs to themselves. I choose to do things in my life, not the Devil. 2. Scratch is the lowest D number in my log book (something along the lines of D-981). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  3. Having had the opportunity to meet Dangy just a few short weeks ago, I'm sending her one big hug for a job well done. She deserves it. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  4. I recently completed a six song, skydiving movie which was edited using ULead's VideoStudio version 7. The end product is very good and speeding up or slowing down the video footage was sure a nice feature to have. But all is not perfect as VideoStudio doesn't really implement a structure data store (database) and once you get a lot of video clips, find them can be a hassle. Premier is consider the best of the best. But it also comes with a much higher price tag than what I paid for VideoStudio. To each their own I guess. My editor is not perferct, but it does the job cheaper than Premiere. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  5. Cool ... hope he had fun and I hope he got pied. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  6. Sweet!!! I'm sure we can plan something cool (and safe) for you and Viking (and how could I forget jumper03). It would be really cool if it was the same jump, but that's hard to control. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  7. Well I'm 25 jumps away from my 500th and it'll be interesting to see if I do my 500th in 3-4 weeks from now, or will I do it during one of my early Eloy Holiday boogie days this year. So who else out there thinks they will make a '00 milestone jump while at Eloy? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  8. I have some good news and some bad news. First the good news. Unlike AggieDave, I am still planning on being at the 2003 Eloy Holiday Boogie. But the bad news is, that I'll likely be doing my 500th before the boogie and y'all won't be around for it. But assuming I do do it something within the next 3-4 weekends (dang is Eloy only 5 weekends away?), I will make it a special jump. Then again, work or Mother Nature could get in the way between now and then, and I still have a whopping 24 jumps to make until number 499. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  9. Dang dude ... that sucks. You were an important influence with my 2002 Eloy jumping experience and I was looking forward to making some bad ass jumps with you again. Oh well, peace bro ... we'll meet up again. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  10. Dang Cora, you did some good skydives this weekend. I too had a good weekend. 0:9:0 Several quality freeflies, several jumps where I jumped with lesser experienced people and numerous 270s and resulting swoops. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  11. The visuals from altitude at Sebastian are outstanding. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  12. I can only speak for myself, but the message seems to be the same for most skydivers. You will slowly phase out many of your whuffo friends and replace them with skydiving friends. Whuffos couldn't care less about our jumps (and especially our videos), but your future skydiving friends will be interested. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  13. Thanks for the feedback. Your accident was/is in the back of my mind and partially why I created this thread (ultimately I'm just trying to ensure that I do everything I can do to limit my risks). I will stay with my dive loops and hopefully ensure that I hold my toggles so as to limit the risk of dropping one. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  14. Dang ... it's a good thing my future SO has some confidence. But she might be disturbed to know that I voted "yes". Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  15. John Who??? Take this to the Talkback Tread ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  16. I've been sitting here wondering if I liked Option #1 or Option #4 better. And then all of a sudden I kind of compromised on the two and came up with a possible winner. What do y'all think? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. I won't jump if I am severely hung over. But I have been known to jump when I'm not 100%. Please take what I'm about to say with a grain of salt as I know some/many people will not agree with this philosophy. To me, the key to skydiving is relaxing and I've had some good skydives when I'm still tired from the night before because I'm tired and thus relaxed. But one really needs to keep their head upon themselves while under canopy. So it's a fine line to be on while jumping after the night before. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  18. I'm now leaning towards Option #1 (or a slight variation of it). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  19. I am/was leaning toward Option #4, but I must say that Spy's suggestion is very interesting. Oh decisions ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  20. It'll be a Wings. This camper is not waiting for Sunpath. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  21. So what's it going to be folks? I'm looking for my predominate colors to be black with yellow and silver accents as well as red as my trim tape colors. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  22. LOL ... I have video of that landing and I wasn't even there. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  23. I did numerous loads out of Mullin's King Air at Rantoul. But my most memorable has got to be the hop n' pop during a rainy part of the convention where I wanted to demo a Crossfire2 canopy. I was in the airplane less than one minute and exited a little above 2k. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  24. Yes and this is how I look at my altimeter. It is a TOOL which over time is helping me learn my sight pictures. And I'd like to add I've been jumping enough to know the difference between 200 feet and 400 feet (assuming there is a +- 200 foot lag which seems high). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  25. The Eloy Holiday Boogie. Normally I would encourage many people to come out to Eloy that week, but I fear that this boogie maybe be getting a little too big (I'm predicting it'll be a lot bigger than last year). So for all of those who weren't there last year and are planning on attending, don't come. You're not going to like it ... ... just kidding ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
