  1. The Ranch is definitely on my list of DZs to visit. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  2. This video is very much still in it's beta phase and is not finished. PhreeZone has already convinced me to re-evaluate the opening sequence with the way it's mixed with the music and there'll be some minor editing going on in another section. So while I may or may not re-work the opening tracking sequences you speak of, you're input is appreciated. Too bad you weren't there this year. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  3. Oh you just like the video because you're a rock star in the main tracking sequence. If you'll notice though, earlier on in the song I showed the clip where I thought I had the Omar slot, but I cut it just before you jumped in front on me. I miss Eloy too and I miss those fun tracking dives. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  4. Not sure if I'll be experienced enough to jump in Moab by then (probably not), but when is this Spring fling? And please don't say it's in the Spring. But I can always be there with my trusty camcorder. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  5. The video (if I'm not mistaken) came from Dave (the fellow from the UK). At least it was off of his feed that I got those wingsuit jumps. So if you do recognize the jump, then you made my video. In fact I had kind of a last minute decision to include another jump I did with you or a jump I did with Mike (Aviator) and I chose Mike because you had plenty of time in Gimp's video. Anyway, this song is far from complete as changes will be made (I view it as a Beta release). I didn't notice it at first, but PhreeZone did point out to me that the opening sequence isn't always on cue and that was because that part of the video was made last and was rushed. But I have all year to fine tune it as I don't have enough good footage to make a full movie right now. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  6. This comment has nothing to do with BASE (so why am I making it?), but I last saw the old guys live in December of 2002 and they still know how to put on a great show. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  7. Thanks ... I was worried there for a while in terms of getting some birdman footage. But I found a way. Hey I'll be joining the flock soon as I'm well on my way towards putting together a 2nd rig for wingsuit jumps. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  8. I know plenty of people who like the Vengence as well as the Samurai. One thing to keep in mind of the Crossfire2 is, that while it is not a air locked canopy, the nose is formed in a manner which performs similarly to the air locks. I fly a Crossfire2 139 and absolutely love it (I was able to swoop 2/3 of the main landing area in Eloy and I'm loading it a few hairs under 1.6:1). Chances are you won't go wrong with any one of these canopies. But you know which one I would vote for. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  9. With the editing or with the footage? If it's the footage all I can say is that I don't fly with a ring site and I still have minor issues with going low on tracking dives (though my tracking skills got better the more tracking dives I did in Eloy). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  10. You may need to look into upgrading your media player? I know in the past I've had issues viewing a WMV file and it seems to be related to incompatible codecs (spelling?). PM me if you have issues as there are other options towards getting you something to watch. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  11. I don't know if you got to meet Winnie (she's not a DZ.COMer), but she's the BASE jumper. Sweat, adorable and innocent on the outside, but quite adventurous and devilish on the inside. I'm not sure if she knows how much she's inspired me, but she has. It's too bad she's back in the UK right now. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  12. Sure ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  13. Thanks to my work colleague Burt, I found a place to host my "Bellas II" movie preview which is basically a one song video of my Eloy Holiday Boogie experience. It can be found at: http://www.teamcolo.org/preview.wmv The color's are a little funky, but that's the price I had to pay when I converted my 1.5 gig AVI file into a 16.4 meg WMV file. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  14. Betsy had a good point at the Holiday Boogie and she told me that if I wasn't going to take my closing pin necklace off, that I should tape it down to my body. I did that for one day, but haven't done it since. Ah shucks ... I'm jumping out of an airplane .. isn't that dangerous? I mean my friend Winnie told me "you worry too much" as she was right. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  15. It won't make you a better skydiver faster than good coaching will. But analyzing yourself with video sure helps. Of course you need to jump with people who also fly camera to analyze your own skydive, but if people aren't flying camera, you're in the whole chicken or egg scenario. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  16. I'll have mine on for solo's only for potential mals or carnage on the ground. I know that's pretty dark thinking, but what can I do? Don't get me wrong, I fly a camera for the visuals (and the fact I recently found that I have a knack for making decent skydiving movies), but I currently don't fly with a ring sight because my freeflies are still about the skydiving. The footage is only a bonus. But I guess if I was to become a tandem videographer (or a 4-way camera flier), then I'd need a ring sight. But you have good points about the other expenses of flying camera and it's really up to the individual to decide if they are ready for the commitment. And let's also not forget as it is possible to lose your camera in freefall (it recently happened to one of our videographers and I had a close call last summer) and that makes for one very expensive skydive. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. Denise ... another option would be to put the $$$ towards jumps. But I think you know where I stand and Duece also made some good points. Besides, lately a lot of the people I was jumping with no longer are flying their camera (some have broken camera and no money to replace them and others just decided to mix things up). So I'm not getting the good footage as I wish I was. It's hard to follow up with another movie when I don't have my footage (especially the really good footage I desire). 18. What a great idea!!! Works for your beer as well (though the beer is likely to get a little frothy). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  19. Actually it's not surprising at all. The secret to head down freeflying is to relax. And since you weren't purposely trying to fly head down, it's possible that you were relaxed and fell into position naturally. But who knows ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  20. And even if it did happen, were they actually head down? Until you've found the tube (limited wind resistence on the front and back of your body), you're not head down. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  21. Here's a joke for you ... Why do Canadians like to do it doggie style? Because they can both watch Hockey Night in Canada. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  22. For some reason, things didn't work out the way Jimmy said they would (they must have changed the plan along the way, but why?). It was supposed to be an illusion where the BASE jumpers were dressed as if they were the band members, then they make their jump and the next thing you know Aerosmith shows up on stage wearing their BASE rigs. I have no idea as to why things didn't go as planned, but that's how it was explained to us a couple of weeks ago. But we were told to kept quiet as Jimmy didn't want anything leaking out. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  23. Jason ... if you were flying camera on that jump that you, myself and Greg made in Eloy, I would have had even more great footage to include in my recently finish video. But as it stands, you are a rock star in my video (at least very briefly in the middle of the song). There's one view (when we attempted the double spock) where you are talking, but I have no idea what you were saying. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  24. Denise ... this is not an easy call. They both have their merits. I truly believe that flying a camera will make you a better skydiver (in the long run), but coaching will have greater short term effects. Either way, you can't really lose. What ever you choose, it'll work out in the long run. [sending subliminal messages to Denise]Camera[/sending subliminal messages to Denise] Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  25. Not true ... as there is always firewire (Sunnydee123's SO flies a camera). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
