  1. It's perfectly possible to carry someone off without using that much violence. In that vid the protesters don't look like their joints and nerves are damaged. Similarities? Well, the police uses pepper spray on a protester, and there the similarities end.
  2. If your cops aren't able to drag of a couple of kids that link arms, they really should hit the gym. I'll quote the description of that pic: I won't waste time to point out the very obvious differences between the situation depicted on pic 19 and the UC Davis situation. I refuse to believe you're too dense to see the difference yourself.
  3. I can remember another topic in which we went over that. When it became clear that other police forces resolve such situations without the use of pepper spray or other violence, for some reason you left that topic. But in short it's a bit like this: 1) Have some officers breach the line of protesters dragging/carrying a couple of students off. 2)Use the opening in the line to pass the human barrier. 3) Rejoice over the fact you handled the situation without looking like barbaric idiots to the rest of the world. It would look like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMmXv2IC8EE
  4. We Europeans have delicious women too, the only difference is that they're a lot less likely to be obese. Yeah, American obesity is a gift that keeps on giving
  5. At least living on the brink of the Eurocalypse is very exiting & interesting. And there's a lot of fun stuff to do like deciding what song you'll play in the end. Right now I'm going with: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qgRLsja1WU It's cliché, but still....
  6. It did, but not quickly enough and when the problem "got solved" it unfortunately was on a busy day in a mall.
  7. I'll quote my own reaction when I read myself back today:
  8. OK, I'll bite: Hurling objects at cops =/= protesting seated. It might have been an overreaction, it might have been a threatening situation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRT6ESp8198 moving footage of the Occupy Berlin incident: not a peaceful seated protest. watch from 5:20 onwards.
  9. I was only kidding, hence the This year they gave 5 notoriously hard to get gun permits to a suicidal paranoid schizophrenic, including one for an Smith & Wesson M&P15-22. Luckily the nutcase wasn't a very good shot, but it still got us a couple of days of interesting television
  10. And the burden of proof lies with the one who claims, in this case Kennedy, who claimed that German cops use pepper spray as a standard tool when they're arresting non-violent seated protesters. I showed two vids that tell us otherwise, it might be a good idea if he showed us a vid of German cops pepper spraying non-violent seated protesters. But apparently K. just opens another tread about the same subject whenever it gets to tough for him. Anyway, I'm getting a bit bored, so I'll be gone while I wait for his unlikely return
  11. Yes, it does. You can see several protesters that are looking suspiciously non-sprayed.
  12. Only you guys shoot other people whilst doing it, right?
  13. I never claimed that pepper spray/tear gas isn't used by German cops. The source just showed what German cops do in a situation that's similar to the situation on UC Davis. That makes my source relevant, especially since Kennedy specifically claimed that German cops pepper spray seated peaceful protesters as a standard procedure. Well, apparently they don't. I implied it multiple times but especially for you I'll explicitly say it: I'm not against the proportionate use of pepper spray and/or tear gas in situations with aggressive people that pose a threat to others and/or property etc, but I'm against the use of that in situations that don't need it.
  14. My point was giving your post the reaction it deserved. I wasn't trying to convince you of anything, since you obviously already had seen that source. I just did what you did, I cherry picked from it. Oh, and you don't have to tell me a thing about the Polizei. I live about a 10 minutes drive from the German border and I've been there quite often.
  15. You're right, this is another protest, I made a mistake. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vQA4XdWL7A http://storyful.com/stories/1000014563 There you go!
  16. Your source says nothing about how peaceful those protesters were, but from the same article:
  17. 28 days... 6 hours... 42 minutes... 12 seconds. So I voted a month.
  18. Well, those protesters were cast in concrete and chained to a rail road. If the Germans figured out how to carry those protesters away, It shouldn't be too hard for Lt Baldy mcPepper to figure out how to unlink arms. Because I've seen my share of linked arms, and it's extremely possible to unlink them without the use of pepper spray. Also, American protesters aren't the only ones to ever use linked arms, it also happens in countries were the use of pepper spray isn't allowed in scenarios like UC Davis. Somehow they solve the situation without the use of pepper spray.
  19. The discussion was more about whether it was the same everywhere. It's a bit hard to find specific information about how and when different police forces use pepper spray, but the Dutch Police are definitely more restricted in the use of it. It also classifies as an illegal weapon in several European countries. I find it kinda hard to believe that those countries would use pepper spray as the second step. I never heard about it being used in that way. Whenever people are sitting in the wrong spot in a non-violent way they're just being picked up and carried to better spot. (usually being a cop car or something) This is how Germans solve a situation similar to UC Davis: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMmXv2IC8EE Pepper spray isn't used here, and you can bet those German cops politely ordered those protesters to move before they carried them off.
  20. Since when are the authorizations of the police sensitive information? In any free country, civilians have access to that information. I even provided you with an example: I now know exactly when the police can use pepper spray against me. But I sort of suspect when you use the word "sensitive" it really means "non-existent" or "not supporting the claims I made". But to answer your question, yes I need to see those documents, and since it's a bit mean to ask you for documents of "about every police organization" I would be contend with the three you specifically mentioned. Those of Berlin/Germany Tokyo/Japan London/UK. Else you claim really isn't worth anything at all. Sure, sure, but I remember that you used the phrase "Just about every police organization". That's not the same as "commonly". "Almost universally" would be much more accurate here. So what you're doing here is shifting the goalposts. Possibly because you discovered that a lot of societies do take tear gas and pepper spray a lot more serious than that John Pike character. First: I don't remember that I said that the police attacked the UC Davis protesters with "chemical weapons". Most probably because I never wrote that, but you're free to provide me with a link to a post were I said that, if I'm mistaken Secondly: I do remember I said or implied that the protesters "could and maybe even should be arrested". While I don't know if sitting on the pavement is a crime, it surely indicates that I actually think they were possibly breaking laws by not complying to police orders. Why are you twisting my words? Oh I see, you need a way out of this discussion. And because you seem to be a bit cornered, you put words in my mouth to make up an excuse as to why you can't discuss this with me. And since I didn't say it to begin with, it's (unfortunately I reckon) still possible for you to have this discussion with me.
  21. Well, I dropped a beer over my keyboard and it developed acute aphasia, it happens Well, anyway, yeah that was kinda stupid of me. I really, really should rephrase that.
  22. Kennedy failed to even bring one shred of evidence for her claims to the table. I think the fact that you don't have a clue of how discussions work is the main reason you think I'm "misguided".
  23. It's even more funny because you're not even man enough to admit you got your ass handed to you in this topic. You pulled off the "looking like an idiot" part rather well Thanks!
  24. Russia still exists and isn't anywhere near extinction. So your point is.... ? Oh and don't give me the Russia =/= USSR speech. Russia = the USSR minus some minor provinces
