  1. Something we agree on That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  2. I'm confused. Since he is shooting a revolver in DA how light of a trigger can one have? That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  3. The main problem I have with your proposal is this "Once the jumper accomplishes these to the coach's satisfaction, he gets signed off to the next level. " That is way to open to interpretation which some believe could become a legal issue. Before the talk about this test becoming administered by a coach it was to be by an S&TA. Of those that I have discussed several wanted nothing to do with waiving a BSR for wingloading because of the legal ramifications that might come with it. It would be one thing to have a black & white test but the "Once the jumper accomplishes these to the coach's satisfaction, he gets signed off to the next level. " part is not going to fly with everybody. And I don't know how well it would fly in the courts in the event of a lawsuit. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! 4. Bill, I don't have time to argue right now if you are not going to read my post. Or should I say not read out of them what you want. Please go back and read what I said. (you did read it right) That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  5. Sorry Bill we are not. Once again you read out of the post what you want to. Nobody does it better.(several are right up there with you though) That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  6. I would have a hard time feeling cheated while I am eating a big steak, even if I did kill it with a rifle. I bagged two deer last year. One from 15 yards and one from 150 yards. I get just as much enjoyment eating either one.. Or my grouse of pheasants. I hope you are a vegetarian and don't eat any fish either. Fish die the worst death. 7. Don't know. One too few is for sure though. I have to live with that but he was not one of my students. A friend that had 1600 jumps but I should have kept him alive. You ask more rhetorical questions than anyone I know. How do you quantify saving a life? I also am not negating all the good that has been done on these forums by yourself and others. Read the post for what they are, not for what you want them to be. previous post edited That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  8. I am playing with my new 1911 right now. I can't wait to shoot it. All I have is cheap ball ammo right now, but can you give me a good load have around for it. Of course I would shoot it first. 9. I'll never understand why you all want to talk about planes , cars, SCUBA, old men who have never jumped modern gear, when you are trying to legislate a Wingloading restriction. You are arguing just for the sake of arguing! You would me much better off talking about skydiving and working on fixing our problem, which would be best served by education, not legislation! You might even save another life! That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  10. Bill what the hell are you talking about? No DZ's will allow this but most every DZ I have jumped at has allowed me to jump beyond the parameters of your proposed wingloading restriction. Clearly their is a major difference. A person who has never jumped a modern BOC, RSL equiped, three ring release, AAD equipped rig with square canopies, and has never freefalled; who is needing be educating has nothing to do with wingloading resrictions. He just needs to take a course and pass a written test. You want me to do that to jump my canopy? I am OK with that Bill. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! 11. Nope. Think. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  12. That is much faster than any canopy I have jumped in full flight. Yet still no license required. We as skydivers at least need a license to jump at most DZ's and some sort of training. I think were a lot better off That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  13. What speed are ultralights limited to? That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  14. Wanna take Snomobile racing? I raced PRO class with no prior snowmobile racing experience. Wanna talk... Skydiving? But anyway.. Not being able to fly a complex aircraft, possibily killing god knows how many people, without an endorsement in an industry controlled by a very powerful FAA. relates to skydiving how? I don't need a license or training to fly an ultralight. What do you think would happen if we gave every skydiver an afternoon in an ultralight? 15. We need to get over this comparison to cars. I have a major problem with cars speeding down my street. Why? Take a guess. It is not because I am worried they might hurt themselves. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  16. And I don't deny this. But there are other factors to consider. Are there more people jumping today than back in the day? Take everything into perspective. Are more people going to get hurt with smaller canopies? Yes. I accept that risk. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  17. That's your opinion. But to be fair it might save some. However, with a larger canopy people will turn lower and have even less margin for error. They can try and make it further back from a long spot. They can get bored and do other dangerous things. As far as turning low I had a pd 190 that I could hook real low. When I got my 107, I could be off of my optimum hook height by more than the total I would hook the pd190 from and be fine. I was much more dangerous hooking that pd190 from 100 feet than being a bit to low on the 107. I did that intentionaly. Would it save lifes to ban all square canopies? would it save lifes to limit to 200 sq ft. and a 1.1 loading on all jumpers and ban swooping? Would it save lifes to ban skydiving? What makes one group less important than another? this thread is getting off topic for this forum. Sorry. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! 18. off topic but..... I just walked in the door from picking up my first 1911 A1. A SA Loaded Operator. I mabey should have got the Loaded instead as holsters are rather limited for the operator because of the rail. I am having a bit of buyers remore. I am hoping after I shoot it that will go away! 19. You are not currently limited to one handgun per month. Know your laws. I was at a show last weekend where 1911's where selling for $300 less that value. It would really suck not to take advantage of that because I had already bought a .22 for my son within the last 30 days. Think. Collectors would be screwed. 20. Is this just your opinion or fact. In IL you have to keep record of a private transaction for ten years(both individuals) and can only sell to another IL resident with a FOID card. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  21. Lets see here. You claimed to be insulted be people jumping on their soapbox and talking about stuff they have no idea about. To which I agreed and said I had read 8 pages of it from both sides(people not knowing what they were taling about) You then went on to critizise me for making a judgement after reading 8 pages of this thread. This is after I agreed that there were a lot of people not knowing what they were talking about . Are you just mad that I read the thread. Mabey you need a comprehension class? That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  22. You just refuse to get it and continue to see what you want to see. I have already said I don't want be prejudice and would try not to. It is not a good felling to have and never have been in my life before. but if every straight guy offended him(or most of them) I would say he has a right to be prejudice. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  23. Do you even read the posts? Like I said this, thread had caused me to spend time on two different gay websites to try and educate myself. Again a case of you hearing what you want to hear. That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  24. . I never told you shit about what you should have known. You are putting words in my mouth. All I said it that it was a typo. telepathically my ass. I will say it again since my post was deleted. I have met many gay people but I do not really know any except for two guys that I have meet at a dz. I really don't know shit about either one of them. I am done with you. You are not worth my time and are just turning me prejudice against Gay's. Something that I don't to have to live with That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
  25. I agree. And there is alot of that on both sides. I read 8 pages worth of it before I made a post That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.
