  1. Libya??? North Korea??? The fact that you didn't invade those countries doesn't make up for the fact that you did invade Iraq. The administration has probably learned a valuable lesson from the Iraq experience and will be more open to debate from nations like France/Russia/Germany next time. For all I know if they had found WMD in Iraq they'd probably be after the next guy on the 'axis of evil' by now.
  2. Not quite sure what you mean..... But I will say that Libya has agreed to hand over/destroy bio/chemical weapons, most likely because they thought they were next on the list. Why did they think that? Because the USA and allies proved they would not be bothered waiting to find out if Gadaffi actually had them or not. UN inspectors found nothing in Iraq before the war but that didnt stop Bush/Blair from diving in head first and now they're claiming they went to war for different reasons than the ones they stated before hand. Sure its great that Libya is offering to do this, but invading one country to scare others into submission, when the one being invaded is 'innocent of the charge' is going to come back and bite you in the ass. Its all just my opinion.......Steve asked why someone outside the US cares what you do........I told you why I care.
  3. A very simple example. The Cayman Islands dollar is tied to the US dollar. I earn in $CI. The war, heavy borrowing etc are weakening the currency and making me poorer although I have nothing to do with the US. Thats just a VERY simple example of why someone might care. So there is the economic factor. There's also the fact that the US and others went to war without the UN and basically gave a lot of other nations the finger. I guess if the US can invade who they want when they want then people might start getting nervous.

    1. An English MP was addressing a crowd in Belfast. He stated to the masses "I was born an Englishman, I've lived an Englishman, and by God I shall die an Englishman!" Then, from the back of the crowd, a voice yelled "Shite man, have ye no ambition?" 2. An Irish man is sittin in a pub one night when 3 Englishmen walked in. The men sit down, and start to talk about how they can anger the Irishman... The first man says, "Watch this..." He gets up, walks over to the Irishman, and says, "Hey man, I hear your St. Patrick was a faggot." The Irishman just replies, "Oh, is that so now?" The Englishman, goes back to his seat perplexed, when his friend jumps up and says, "Here, lemme try that." So he goes over to the Irishman and says, "Hey man, I hear your St. Patrick was a transvestite faggot!" The Irishman only replies, "Oh, is that so now?" So the Englishman, frustrated goes and sits down with his friends. When the 3rd Englishman jumps up and says, "Well, now, I gotta try that!" So he walks over to the Irishman and says, "Hey, I hear your St. Patrick was an ENGLISHMAN!" And the Irishman replies, "Aye, that's what your friends were sayin."
  8. WHOA!!! Thats really cool!!!!!!
  9. Well he is African..... To me it would be like someone being told they're not Irish because they're black.....nonsense
  10. I probably would argue that, as it makes sense to me but for the purposes of my post it was just a question. No, not really. Anything I posted on this topic was opinion and not based on facts and figures. You are obviously much more committed to your side of the argument than I am to mine. Your attitude towards guns is very different to what I've grown up with....so I question it to learn more about it. I'm not trying to get under your skin or anything........sorry if I came across that way For what it's worth. I have learned a lot. I'm out.

  14. Had a part time teacher who was a student at the medical school in Grenada. She brought us on a field trip to the anatomy lab when I was 9. It was great......one of the professors/doctors went over to two of the bodies and took out the lungs. One was pink.......the other was grey and nasty like in the anti smoking ads........that put me off for life. Ive never had a drag.
  15. Sorry to hear that dude.....looks painful. Hope yer fixed up real soon....

  17. Like hunting season........for humans
  18. Couple of question. 1. What is the penalty for possession of a handgun in DC? 2. What city had the highest murder rate immediately before DC introduced its ban?
  19. Hmmm.....Northern Ireland isn't your typical 'rough part of town' if you will. Its an area of political struggle between two distinct groups of people. It is basically the remnants of a war for independence.....its the bit that got left behind. The situation there is comparable to the current Israeli/Palestinian crisis. Although in recent years there has been quite a decline in the intensity of the fighting. In fact, if youve been to the north recently you will find that republican/nationalists fly Palestinian flags while unionist/loyalists fly Israeli flags. So I don't think that comparing gun crime in Northern Ireland to anywhere else is relevant. But without them the means to commit the crimes becomes more difficult to obtain and all but hard core elements are left without.......thus less shooting. True, but taking a gun out of someones hands limits their ability to become a criminal in a moment when they 'aren't thinking'. By that I mean people who would not premeditate a murder.
  20. I know how ya feel. I got talking to one of my best childhood friends a few days ago and it was great. Haven't seen him in 7 years. Although i have to say catching up isnt quite the same when your typing on msn messenger.
  21. I assume you're talking about my assumption that there would be more deaths due to guns if they were still legal. Simple, in my way of thinking at least. Look at the number of people killed in arguments where a gun was present. In many cases it was a moment of lost control on the part of the attacker, where their anger is released by beating, stabbing or shooting their victim. Beating and stabbing require more commitment to the act. Pulling a trigger is somewhat easier, although it bears, in most cases more significant consequences. So assuming these situations do occur, where someone has a legal handgun....this is a 'gun crime'. As such it would be added to the total number of gun crimes which would probably have occurred gun controls or not. See what I mean? Not sure how clear that is
  22. Doesnt look like my cup of tea........
