Not including the pre-schools/kindergartens i went to when i lived in the US.......5 primary schools and 1 secondary (boarding school). I now have a few days to decide where to go to uni. Im thinking Bristol so if anybody has any good reports about that place let me know.

Just thought you'd like some input from some one nearer your own age. I'm 18 and been riding for a year. Aprilia RS50 which is a very low powered machine.....already had one crash and cost a bomb to repair it. The insurance is a factor for people our age.....my insurance is 1970 euros a year but if I could afford it id go with somethng in the 600's range like a gsx-r600 or a honda CBR600. Hayabusa!!! Not for your first bike man thats crazy.....but biking is great craic so try getting a few lessons and see where you go from there. good luck.

Hi all. I just want to ask all the drivers out there to take it easy on the road and watch out for others. I just found out that a friend of mine was killed just before christmas in a hit and run in Cyprus. She was 18 years old and had a lot to live for. I know that sadly many people will not cease to drive drunk or carelessly and will only learn when its too late. I just know that I will NEVER drink and drive. Take care.

1. wake up at 7.20.......check using the central heating system that school has not reduced budget(yet again) 2. run to washroom with towel SECURELY fastened around waist. 3. position yourself so as to be in line for one of the 4 showers shared by 32 boys. 4. Attempt to be in shower after water temperature has reduced to below boiling point but before it turns so cold that you forget your name. 5. Face wall in order to shield from blasts of fire extinguisher and missiles being hurled in an effort to encourage your swift completion of shower. 6. No time to dry off......once again securely fasten towel around waist and leg it back to dormitory. 7. Get dressed.....checking over shoulder every 3-5 seconds. 8. Get to breakfast before milk runs out.

Hey all, I'm just curious to see how many people on dropzone.com are "underage", having just turned 18 in November I've found it hard to get in contact with jumpers my own age. I'm not sure how much of a problem this is for people in the US or UK where populations of skydivers are much larger than in Ireland but it'd be handy to have a couple of jumping friends who dont try to slap me when I talk about skydiving.

Yep......buildings, walls, telephone poles and dont forget spectators. My cousin lives down the road from the grand stand on the TT course. A few years ago he thought it would be fun to run accross the track with a dictaphone to record it. First you hear a couple of bikes going 170mph then him running his ass off, then a policeman chasing him and the whole time hes giggling like a schoolgirl. He was 10 years old when he did that but watching the TT yesterday made me think of what would happen if those bikes hit him......thankfully hes a lot more sensible now (hes 18) but its one more thing for the guys racing that track have to contend with. Man they must have balls of steel......

I'm with Bill......i like spiders too and my mum says its bad luck to kill'em. One of my cousins got a pet tarantula several years ago, the first day he got it he tried to handle it but was too scared without gloves but when the thing started crawling towards his wrist he went spare and threw it accross the room.........we had to use a shovel to get the spider to let go of the carpet..........poor thing died, we think, could have been faking but we buried it anyway.....went back to the pet store and got a hamster -

I must be doing something wrong -
My first jump was a tandem and I wasn't really afraid of it.....excited but not the type of fear that would cause you stop and ask to get off. It was pretty much the same for the 2 static line jumps I did after. The only time I really had to think hard abouy whether I should jump or not was on my 4th jump, it was my first pack job. Well it opened.....and that was a huge confidence boost. Since then I've only jumped once cause I've been on holidays since.......only two more weeks till im out of this dropzone forsaken hell hole that is the Cayman Islands.......Its a hard life.
