Well I have great news and I know its all about the most excellent vibes I received. First I returned today from a 2 and a half week vacation to discover that my promotion not only did go though but I was promoted prior to starting my time off. I pulled a 7½ percent salary increase as part of the promo. Second, since the company demanded I take a cell phone on vacation (to France and England) so that they can reach me if need be, I will get 5 days worth of vacation time returned since cell phone useage constitutes "working from home". Truth is the phone was used less than 10 minutes a day for four of the days and about 1 hour on the fifth. I however will get full days of pay returned. Lastly the client, a rather large oil corporation, has decided that they would like to hire me away from my current employer as most of my work is in their name anyway. I have a meeting in 3 days to discuss possible salary/benefits. This comes 3 weeks after my promotion no less. I am sure someone out there was sending in extra vibes. Usually the numbers run counter clockwise and work on what appears to be a logrithmic scale. If you measure the number of seconds that it takes for you to travel 1 mile and then look at the scale on your watch it will convert to the mile per hour you are traveling. Example: if it takes 40 seconds then I am traveling 80 MPH because 80 is written at the forty second mark. If it takes me 16 seconds then I am traveling 220. OK, yesterday I had a performance review with my boss. Everything was great, he loves my work, I make us look great to the client, blah blah blah. At the end of the meeting he asked if I had any questions of him too which I say "Yes, yes I do." I then explained that last year we discussed that if I was not hired away by the client, something that has been looming, that we would talk promotion within our own company. I asked him, "What can I do to help you promote me?" I really thought I was asking for mentoring or suggestions of some sort. He then got up, said "Lets go see H.R." and then proceeded to have the paperwork written up to promote my ass up the corporate ladder. Now the catch, it has to be signed by the client. On my my supervisor was giving a meeting. During the meeting he kept "adjusting" his pants. He complained about the tight legs, loose thighs and lack of "package" area.
