  1. I seem to recall some kind of web signup for the seminars last year, will that be around again this year? Or even a list of seminars? cavete terrae.

    Off we go

I'm debating keeping my mobile phone turned off for the entirety of the boogie at Eloy, maybe just checking messages before I go to bed. Thoughts? cavete terrae.
  3. How are you liking the Fusion so far? I absolutely love it. It opens like falling into a comfy mattress at the end of a long day at work, it's very responsive without being twitchy, and the flare is ENDLESS it seems like. I've only put a few dives on it, but I'll do a long writeup once I've put enough on it to be fairly comprehensive. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a fun canopy though! cavete terrae.
  4. About a 1.2:1 on a Fusion, depending on the day. cavete terrae.
  5. So true. If you wanna get technical, though, he's going to stop slower with locked brakes than with almost-locked brakes. cavete terrae.
  6. I'm not going to comment on Pull-Out vs BOC, because I frankly do not have the experience to know a damned thing about pull-out. However, a modern, properly designed rig won't have much, if any, exposed bridle with a BOC Case in point: My 9/2005 model Infinity, see attachment. cavete terrae.
  7. Too few exotics, and I didn't have enough experience at the time. I'll go next year if there's a jet and some other off the wall stuff probably. cavete terrae.
  8. Jet. jet jet jet jet jet. A blimp would be neat, I'd never even thought about jumping from one. Edit: Bomb bay door jump sounds amazingly fun, too. cavete terrae.
  9. betsy, will there be anyone from Alti-2 that can do a calibration on-site? My alti seems like it's been a little wonky, but I figure it can wait 6 weeks if there'll be someone there. cavete terrae.
  10. That works, too! Let me know what you guys think cavete terrae.
  11. So here it is. I call it the Purgatory Burger, because a lot of my friends consider it too hot to eat. The real men and women out there will enjoy it. You will need: 95% lean ground beef Frank's Red Hot sauce, or your favourite hot sauce Fresh green chilis A block of pepper jack cheese Pineapple (either canned rings, or fresh sliced) Butter Cayenne powder First, divide up the Frank's into two equal amounts. To one of these batches, add a little bit of butter to cut the edge, but add a touch of cayenne to retain the flavour. Keep the other batch "naked" Chop up the green chilis and mix with the ground beef in a ratio you find acceptable. This varies from person to person, but I think one chili per patty's worth of meat works well. Form the patties by hand, and smother liberally with Frank's on one side, then place this side up on the grill. When the time comes to flip the burgers, add Frank's to the new "top" side, again smothering decently, so the sauce will cook into the meat. At this time, you should also put the pineapple slices on the grill. Keep an eye on it, you don't want it to dry out, but you want the sugars to caramelise. Approximately 3/4 through the second side's cooking, move the pineapple on top of the burgers, pour on the modified Frank's, and slap a thick slice of pepper jack on top of this. When the cheese begins to melt, place the buns on the grill so they're toasted just as the cheese finishes melting, at which point you can assemble the burgers in the normal fashion and serve. cavete terrae.
  12. Make no mistake, the media loves to sensationalise things. Remember the summer a couple years ago with "all the shark attacks"? That year was below average for shark attacks, the media just needed something to blow out of proportion. cavete terrae.
  13. If they teach classes, the student operation could be STFU. Damn, you beat me to it! cavete terrae.
  14. http://spiceweasel.net/costume1.jpg http://spiceweasel.net/costume2.jpg I was actually going to make a gunshot wound for my forehead out of latex, and some intestines out of gelatin to have hanging out, but I came up with the costume not even 24 hours ago, so I didn't have time cavete terrae.
  15. Working on my costume right now: http://spiceweasel.net/shirt.jpg http://spiceweasel.net/shirt2.jpg http://spiceweasel.net/shirt3.jpg I'm going to have a knife "jammed" in my eye, and just be soaked in "blood" Thankfully, as you can see, I have a fantastic recipe for fake blood! cavete terrae.
  16. ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahha Do you mind if I use a smaller version as my avatar on another forum?? cavete terrae.

  19. A friend of mine gave me a list of random food in his house, and asked for a suggestion on what to make. I decided to get creative, and here's what I replied with: Prepare the chicken breast in your method of choice, then slice into chunks.... using two frying pans, one at uber high heat, one at medium-high, first fry pineapple chunks with the super hot pan so the sugar caramelises, then transfer along with chicken to a slice of bread, buttered on the other end. Top with provolone and sharp cheddar cheeses, and use the medium-high pan to heat, covered, until bread is browned and cheese is melted Think it'll be any good? He's making it now cavete terrae.
  20. Doesn't really matter, since I wouldn't be able to afford 'em anyway. College budget cavete terrae.
