It makes no difference. Any AFF I that can't do AFF out of a Cessna should not be doing AFF. That's probably true, but there's somethign to be said for simplicity and convenience. I know at my DZ, where we don't have the 'crew of midgets' thing going on like seems to be the norm (what the hell IS with that, anyway? I swear to god the average height in this sport is 4-5" lower than in any other group of people), it'd be interesting. I'm trying to imagine three 6'3" or so guys, one of whom has never jumped, going out of a 182 at the same time.... Anyway, yes, I know it's done, but I'm just saying that IN MY NEWBIE OPINION, it would SEEM that AFF would be much easier out of something with a big door and nothing to smack body parts on, like an Otter, or a Skyvan, or whathaveyou. cavete terrae.

Can be done and is done on a regular basis. I did a mix of SL/AFF and did some 2-JM jumps out of a Cessna. My regular DZ has no turbine in the winter yet AFF is still offered. I'm not saying it can't be done, but it's a lot more appropriate for an Otter or a Skyvan or something than a small Cessna. cavete terrae.

You gonna launch a student and two instructors out of a 182 or a 206? Yes, I know it's possible, what what a pain in the ass.. Besides the fact that we're not all a bunch of turbine rats, the price as mentioned before is a big deal for a lot of people. Even if AFF had been offered at my DZ, I doubt it would have been affordable for me. With static line, however, I paid around $700 for 25 jumps, gear rental, a couple USPA temp memberships, a full membership, and my licence fee. This wasn't 20 years ago, either. My FJC was 24 July 2004, and I only did 6 jumps in 2004. cavete terrae.

I was going to ask for an AltiTrack for Christmakkuh, or Hannumas, but as of right now it's still vapourware cavete terrae.

Psycho packers: How to control the slider?
grue replied to grue's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
When I psycho pack my Fusion, after making a few rolls, the slider is squirting out of the other end of the pack job. What's the best way to prevent this nonsense? cavete terrae. -
"Oh.. nice marmot" cavete terrae.

Well, given that not every DZ even offers AFF, mine for example... In addition, I paid a little over $700US for all 25 jumps needed to get my licence, including gear rental and USPA membership. I bet you paid that in 3 or 4 jumps :) cavete terrae.

I'll let ya know My old man might be coming to the states around the same time, so I could probably convince him to pack such things in his bag and post them from Los Angeles to Eloy for a Christmas present cavete terrae.

Nope, finally got the CD! I'm looking for someone to bring along a bottle or two of Lift and a Violet Crumble cavete terrae.

I have a favour to beg for, if so cavete terrae.

Is there somewhere near the DZ where one can get a bunch of bread, peanut butter, and jelly for college budget eating? ;) cavete terrae.
-
Well, that last part isn't gonna happen, but I'll get a neoprene balaclava before I leave. cavete terrae.
-
Ok, cool. Also, will the cross country jump be the same price as the normal jumps? cavete terrae.

Betsy, what are the temperatures aloft like for this/that time of year? I'm not exactly sure what to bring in terms of clothes. cavete terrae.

I got rearended by the same lady twice in one winter First time, a cop saw the whole thing and gave her tickets for: Following too closely Failure to maintain reasonable control of vehicle Driving too fast for conditions Careless operation I was like "SCORE!" A little kid had run across the snowy road, and Darla Douchebag was tailgating me in her Navigator. Small European sedan with upgraded brakes and studded snow tyres vs. ginormous SUV with "all seasons", it doesn't take a lot of mental effort to figure out who's gonna stop faster. ANyway, I got away with a few scratches on the bumper, but she hit me again about 8 weeks later . cavete terrae.

Looks like I'm going to need a ride from PHX at 1403 on 22 December cavete terrae.

I'll have a go if you can get it to me. I'm about to take off for work in about 10, but I'll be back a little after 7 CST, unless you wanna start to send it over AIM/yahoo/msn before I go. cavete terrae.

My rig wasn't available with snaps if I wanted hip rings, so that made the choice for me. However, having jumped with both, I prefer stepthrough AS LONG AS THE RIG FITS RIGHT. I can put on my Infinity pretty quickly, but the rental Dolphins before I got that were a pain. cavete terrae.

A whuffo friend of mine found a rig in the hurricane zone, and asked me to help find the owner. It looks like it belongs to a man named Barry Jones. It was last repacked in February 2003 (!), apparently at Gold Coast. Do any of you know him or have a way I can get in contact with him? cavete terrae. -
A whuffo friend of mine is trying to find the serial number on a Jav that doesn't have a packing data card, where is it located? I'm not actually anywhere near him, so I can't look myself cavete terrae.

Well, a good friend of mine used to use the expression "lick me where I pee", so that's pretty close cavete terrae.
