Does the Sabre 2 (NOT SABRE 1) have a safety problem on openings?
cbain replied to tdog's topic in Safety and Training
I put about 350 jumps on a Sabre2 190 at 1.1-1.2. I had a slammer at about jump 320 that hurt for a long time. I was crying when I landed and I didn't jump for almost a month. There were no packing errors that I'm aware of, slider was not stowed, etc. I chalk it up to one of those random happenings that you can't really explain, I don't think it had anything to do with that particular canopy but I was uncomfortable at pull time on every jump I put on it after that although it never slammed me again. I have since moved on to a Firebolt 164. Christina -

I only meet Lori recently at Gold Coast Skydivers. We just moved to New Orleans and our first day at our new dropzone she went out of her way to welcome us and make us feel at home. Prayers to family and friends and all involved. Blue Skies Christina

So, we went out Friday for our first "night on the town" since moving to the French Quarter. We go to a few bars have some fun and then start walking home. Of course about halfway back to the house I have the sudden urge to pee, very badly. Trying to hurry I make it to a set of about three stairs maybe 20 feet from my front door which I swear just disappeared as I was walking down them. Fell and sprained my ankle pretty good. My boyfriend who was also very drunk was trying to help me the rest of the way to the house and ended up falling as well and I hit the back of my head on the brick sidewalk, that hurt. No trip to the emergency room but enough that I'm pretty much not moving all weekend. Hoping I'll be able to go to work tomorrow but might have to get a crutch for the sprained ankle. So much for the skydiving we had planned Saturday, that's the worst part. I've seen a bumper sticker around here a lot, I guess I have to get one for my car now too: "New Orleans, proud to crawl home." Christina

If he knows how to ride, maybe you could rent him a bike for the day, a Harley or something, assuming he doesn't already have one. And then you get to ride on back and be all snuggly and stuff too. He lives in a trailer on the dz or something, maybe a hotel room ro share for the night would be nice, something with a jacuzzi. If he's into music, maybe some tickets to a concert, or even a sporting event? Good luck Christina

Hey everyone, Rigpacker and I will be moving to New Orleans on Wednesday! I got a job with Lockheed Martin, working on the external tank for the space shuttle! I've been keeping it quiet until everything was all finalized and stuff. So anyone in the New Orleans area PM me and let's get together, never been to New Orleans before. Looks like we're going to be leaving right before the big hurricane comes. I've been having nightmares of it chasing us from FL all the way there! With lots of changes comes lots of stress, wish us luck! Christina and Al

No, women in India pierce their left norstil because it is thought to ease the pains of child birth. They believe that a nerve in your nose. As far as the poll goes, I have a tiny stud in my nostril. I would get a ring but I think the stud is more descrete and professional. I just got a job as an engineer at Lockheed Martin with my stud so I don't see it as a problem professionally. The snot thing is not true at all in my experience. And it doesn't create extra snot or get caught on it or anything like that. I've had mine for a couple years and hardly even think about it or notice it anymore. Christina

Sure, But the gay person is not forcing the religious person to change their beliefs, or are they forcing them to be immoral, i.e. homosexual. They only want the right to practice their own beliefs. Where as the religous folks tend to want to force their personal beliefs onto others. i.e. outlawing homosexuals or discriminating against them so that they (homosexuals) cannot practice their own beliefs anymore. It doesn't matter which one is right or wrong, they should both have the freedom to do what they want as long as they aren't impinging on someone else. And who ever someone chooses to have sex with behind closed doors, shouldn't effect anybody else but themselves. Just my $0.02 Christina

Trust me... mine isn't worth stealing, heck, it's not even worth giving away. Christina

Oopps, too late now. I thought about it, but I'm already sending it out to tons of companies and have it posted on tons of job sites, like Monster.com and all those. Plus, anymore for a few bucks you can get all that information about a person from the internet with just there name anyways. Christina

Well, I'm looking for a job right now too. Here's what my resume looks like right now. I've spent some time at the career center here and took a couple classes on resumes. Just some personal opinions that you can think about or just ignore. I would try to get it down to one page, it maybe hard to do but hiring managers really prefer one quick page unless you have 15-20 or more years experience. Instead of saying things like significantly improved, try to actually come up with a number like increased by 150% or tripled value or added a million dollars, hard numbers is much easier to grasp than saying much, many, significantly, etc. Be sure to use specific examples not generalizations. Be careful with the excessive formatting as well because a lot of places take online resumes now or will enter them into databases and then all the formatting gets turned into plain text and doesn't look like anything you had in mind anymore, or if you have to have the extra formatting then create a second resume in plain text format for when it's required. Anyways, that's just a couple things from looking at it very briefly, but a hiring manager will only spend an average of 7 seconds on it anyway. Hope maybe some of that helped. PM me if you want to discuss more specific details and wording. Christina Christina Bain.doc

Anyone in Florida interested in going to Good times Boogie?
cbain replied to cbain's topic in The Bonfire
Hey, I'm in Deland and I want to go to the Good Time Boogie in Ohio coming up soon. Planning on going June 20-30 (including driving time) but that is negotiable. Willing to take my car, just looking for someone to help with gas and the driving. If you're interested PM me or send an email to redheadskydiver@yahoo.com Thanks, Christina -

Piercings: Ears regular Left ear cartlidge once Nose Belly button One tattoo which pic has been posted of. Want to get another tattoo (or more). And thinking of a couple more piercings (another ear cartlidge, labet, and clit hood). Also, I have tons of ideas for skydiving tattoos and I'm working on drawing some of them up. Do you guys think that I could sell them to skydivers wanting tattoos, and maybe charge more if you want a "one of a kind" that no one else would be able to have? What do you think? Christina

No jumping this weekend due to a rollerblading incident on Friday. Spent 4 hours in the ER, nothing broken but pretty bruised, bumped, scraped up. Was going down a hill with a turn at the bottom with some lose sand on the pavement too and I can't stop very well. Didn't make the turn. Hit the pavement as I was also flung into a railing hitting my hip. I'm black and blue from the front of my hip all the way around and across my ass cheek and about 10 inches the other direction. And it just started to bruise, not even finished growing yet. After I fully recover, I'm sticking to skydiving, it's much safer! Ouch, Christina

My 100th was a really awesome 6 way freefly, I sat base and everyone else dd a campfire around me and got a couple docks. Nothing special for 200. My 300th was Sunday on sunset load, did an 18-way, for my sweeties SCR, I didn't make it in even but it was still a great jump. Christina
