  1. I was going to say piglet at first because he's overcome great obstacles and fears and always comes out the better for it. But I'm not really up against a lot of obstacles or fears right now so that was more me of the past.
  2. I want one! Can they install one of those on my Xterra??? I'm with you Gypsy. I have a nice collection of knives, although I recently sold my sword. It was a nice WW II japenese sword. I was actually learning how to use the knives and swords in JuJitsu and Taekwondo. Still working on getting the concealed handgun lisence though. So you got me beat there by a long shot! No pun intended. Christina

    need your help

Try one of the ones listed here... http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Shopping_and_Services/Music/CDs__Records__and_Tapes/Antique__Rare__and_Collectible/ If you email them they typically have access to computer databases of hundreds of stores all once that they can search. I've found rare books and rare vinyl records both this way with great success. Good luck and glad your brother's okay. Christina
  4. Some people were organizing an SCR jump (1 pt. 8 way) for my graduation (20th) jump and it was called off due to safety concerns. Just coming off student status it can be freaky seeing 7 other people in the air with you instead of one. Now I have 150 jumps and I still probably couldn't turn 5 pts on a 10 way. I think my best yet is only 4 pt on 6 way. I guess it depends on the person, but personally I wouldn't do it. Christina
  5. Well, let's see. When I went on my white water rafting trip in May everyone there started calling me squeeky because when we were still on flat water a bigger boat went by. As we went threw it's wake water splashed up on me and I accidently squeeked. That didn't last after the trip though because I went by myself no one else knew. Then a while back I worked on a river baot and there was another girl there. We were both pretty clutzy. So everyone called us crash and slide. I forget which one I was supposed to be. And then I've always been called Red by those less creative because I have red hair. And every variation on the name Christina - Christine, Christy, Chrissy, Chris, Chrissy stuck around for a while in high school. No skydiving related except I have been referred to as "jump slut" or "jump whore" for the amount of jumps I make but I don't think those count. Christina
  6. Okay, so I'm new to this. How does this voting thing for bikini jumps work? How do you raise money? I apologize for my ignorance. Christina

    Dreams

Before I started skydiving I would dream I could fly and I'd go flying around all these really cool places. Now I dream of skydiving/flying all the time. I've never dreamed of a mal or cutaway though. They're always good dreams and I wake up ready to go skydiving! Ooopps, got to work today... Just last night I had great skydiving/flying dream where I was actually flying up and swooping through trees and stuff and even though I could fly I eventually opened my paachute and landed. It's a dream what do you expect? Christina
  8. Hey Zennie, Hope you're doing okay. I've told you my story before I know but this thread got me to thinking. 3 years dating, 3 years married, 1 year seperated, divorce final in June. You know, a marriage as you put time into it is like an investment, that time is gone and you can't get it back no matter what. That time is like sunken costs but for the future are you going to start getting a return on your investment or are you just going to be sinking more time into it and still not getting anything back. After we were seperated a while we both realized that we were much happier and doing much better apart than we did together. And skydiving wasn't a factor because I didn't start until long after we were seperated. Anyways, enough rambling, I just hope things work out for you and you can find happiness either way. Christina
  9. 1 (hangover sunday morning):11:1 First time jumping my new RW suit. Good weekend, lots of cool jumps, but it didn't need to rain on both Saturday and Sunday afternoon! Christina
  10. Wow, sounds pretty cool. I guess I'll have to come over and check out skydive houston one weekend.
  11. QuoteI didn't get a kiss pass though. Somebody kiss me in freefall...PLEASE! If I have to wear a helmet and goggles, at least kiss me! reply] Hey Paula, Thanks for the jumps on Saturday! I had a lot of fun even though it was freaky seeing you in freefall without your helmet! And on Sunday you're wearing an open face helmet and you know I'm still waiting on my first kiss pass and you don't even invite me to join you! So I ended up doing 5 solos on Sunday working on head down free flying instead of RW. It's just no fun to belly fly by yourself. Christina

    My new TAT!!

Well, here's how I got it. I found a picture of two people that I liked on the internet (picture database on dz.com actually) and printed it out. Then I used a light board, like what they use to look at x-rays with, and traced the figures out and silhouettted them. Then I used a xerox to shrink them to the size I wanted. I took that to the artist and described what I wanted with the sun, clouds, colors, and he freehanded the rest. Please don't look in the database to find what picture I used to tell me who the people are, I'd rather they be anonamous (sp)figures. So it's an orginal, no others like it. I do really really love it. And thanks everyone for the great compliments on it! Christina

    Helmet stickers

I'm getting some of the vinyl stickers that they make for on cars but are skydiving suitable. I haven't put them on it but here are some examples... Milk sucks... Got Beer? Must be fast, passed your azz! Bad azz toys aren't just for boys! Caution, Adults at play And then I got some little word stickers from Walgreens, kind of like those little magnetic words things and after I put the big stickers on, anytime I jump with someone I'll let them put one word on the helmet where ever and see what people start making. I thought it might get pretty funny. Christina

    Kiss pass

Really? I never knew! j/k Christina
  17. Just another question since I'm bored at work and curious minds want to know. Have you ever or how many naked jumps have you done? Do you want to/plan to do any in the future? If not does it bother you if/when others do them? Any other thoughts, opinions? Christina
  18. Just a question for everyone out of curiousity. What piercings and/or tattoos do you have or plan to get? Do you think skydivers are any more or less inclined to piercings/tattoos than the general pubilc? I have my ears pierced in the normal spot, and then my nose is pierced and I wear a little stud in it. I just got the cartiledge on one ear pierced and have a hoop in it. I want to get another hoop right above it when this one heals. I also like the piercing on your lower lip center right above the chin but don't know about work with that one. I'm also thinking about getting a tattoo of sun between my shoulder blades. With maybe a silouhette of a skydiver in front of the sun. What do you think? Christina
  19. I also trained in JuJitsu and Taekwondo for 3-4 years before getting into skydiving. I was pretty good at both. I was competing in Nationals in Taekwondo. I have my blackbelt in Taekwondo and was also teaching and had just gotten my teaching certification. I haven't taken a class since I made my first jump. I suspect I'll get back into it eventually one day. I loved the teaching aspect which is why I'm considering getting into AFF certification down the road. I also did/do some rollerblading. I don't do it as much anymore mostly because I moved and the streets are horrible so I have to drive somewhere to go now. Been thinking about taking my blades out to the hanger to goof off between loads. I've never been very good though so I'd be likly to hurt myself or someone else. I also love camping/hiking and did two week vacation in May to Carlsbad caverns, Grand canyon and Moab Utah. I'd like to go more often but it's so damn hot down here and no $ to travel. I think that's about it for me. I tried running once and trained up to doing a 5K but hated it so don't do that anymore. It seems a lot of skydivers were/are in martial arts. I guess it's just one of those things. Christina
  20. I've been just pushing mine in about half way and it opens pretty slow but is often off heading, which seems to be common on the Sabre2. I've only had it and been packing for two months though. Have about 100 jumps on it now. I tried the split thing a couple of times and didn't like the way it opened then. And if I left it out completly the opening was a little faster than I like. Oh I jump a 190 at about 1.1 loading. Christina
  21. Congrats guys! The video looked totally awesome! I wonder if I'll ever get that good. Practice, practice, practice (That means more jumps
  22. 0 (#of people kissed in freefall) / 120 (# of jumps) = Christina
