Mine lags at freefly speeds. If you're tracking on your belly long enough before pull time it has a chance to catch back up. There have been a couple times where we pushed for that last dock resulting in a shorter breakoff/track and the alti didnt match the mental picture. (Didnt have time to catch up.) 7 Reasons the TSA Sucks (A Security Expert's Perspective)
FreeFallFiend replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
Just flew to Argentina (and back) and was "TSA Pre-screened" for some unknown reason. Didn't have to remove shoes, belt or sweater, or remove anything from my carry-on bag. No full-body scan either. ????? sarcasm can be hard to read sometimes. i dont understand your post, sorry. as i understand it you need to apply, pay a fee and schedule and interview for the precheck programs. so are you able to bypass the TSA hassle because you went through the precheck program? or are you saying you bypassed the hassle because they mistakenly thought you were a member? those are two very different things. If he is describing what has been happening to my friends and I that travel frequently, then he is saying he was directed to go through pre-check instead of traditional security even though he hasnt signed up for it. See my previous post above for possible theories as to why this is happening. No matter the reason, it either means one of two things: 1) Some sort of smart profiling/prescreening is in fact taking place behind the scenes on frequently recognized travelers that are deemed not to be a threat 2) TSA is randomly letting people pass traditional security demonstrating furthermore how worthless it is Fiend I am about to take my last voyage, a great leap in the dark. - Thomas Hobbes. -
7 Reasons the TSA Sucks (A Security Expert's Perspective)
FreeFallFiend replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
Do you fly often? This has been happening to me a lot lately in the past couple of months as well as several of my friends that travel on a regular basis. I am wondering if this is some sort of a ploy to get more passengers that travel frequently to sign up for pre-check. Recently I have noticed a few airports including CVG have ditched their Priority Lanes and added more Pre-Check. (All they did was convert them.) It makes sense really. TSA charges people to sign up for pre-check, and by sending more people through pre-check they are decreasing their operational budget, decreasing wait times, increasing efficiency, increasing passenger satisfaction. They get more money for less work and less hassle. Recently I got a message trying to check in for a flight to SLC that I had to undergo additional screening at the airport. I thought it was very strange since i had been selected for precheck many times over the previous weeks. When i got to the airport the woman at the counter said it was because my pre-check number was missing. I said I didnt have one and she went to get her supervisor, who then stared at the screen, asked me again, and when i again said I was registered they said Oh...it must be because we dont have your drivers license number on file. I responded they obviously had my passport and I had been flying several times a week for a few months. That was that no more questions. /endTSAprecheckconspiracytheory Fiend I am about to take my last voyage, a great leap in the dark. - Thomas Hobbes. -
Any concern with the magnets latching onto railings of BASE exits or doors/tailgates during cramped sky exits? Would suck to start your flight with a blown booty. Fiend I am about to take my last voyage, a great leap in the dark. - Thomas Hobbes.

Isagenix is what I use as well and am a HUGE fan. I've only done the strict 30 day program twice (and it works VERY well) but I use their Meal Replacement Shakes and other supplements regularly throughout the year. If you want to know more, and from a jumpers perspective, contact Clair Crawford aka BASEgirl. She is a very successful dealer and the one that got me started. She has tons of information on the products, a healthy lifestyle, and finding something that meets each persons individual athletic needs. She also provides coaching, advice, and support free of charge. Clair is also a good friend of mine so feel free to PM me if you want an intro. You arent missing anything but a lot of butthurt. It was a 6.5 minute video for a 30 second jump that included: -mostly Facebook screen grabs of posts and PMs -Ava Maria playing in the background -a tiny little bit (30 sec of 6.5 min) of good flying -more FB screen shots of skydivers calling each other douchebags -more Ava Maria -evidence the editor doesnt know skydiving gear very well Fiend I am about to take my last voyage, a great leap in the dark. - Thomas Hobbes.

I had a layover in China on my way to Malaysia and I DID have to go through security in China. I was carrying two BASE rigs in a single roll-aboard and they didnt have a problem with that. They did however have a problem with all the travel size bottles of booze i had in my backpack. Fiend I am about to take my last voyage, a great leap in the dark. - Thomas Hobbes. -
Where are you in Ohio? I might be able to point you to some good food resources. I have been doing crossfit for about a year and tend to "make paleo decisions." That means I am not strict paleo but try to be when possible. Crossfit isnt for everyone, but the reason I bring it up because i have seen measurable results for myself, but more importantly everyone at my gym is a nutrition nut so we get to compare notes and see what works. The biggest difference you can make right now is trying to get as many "whole" foods and "clean" foods. Foods that dont have many ingredients or additives. Typically the fewer ingredients the higher the nutritional/biological value. (BV) You want to eat foods that have a high BV so you get what the body needs and your body isnt trying to break down stuff it was meant too. Speaking of which going paleo made me realize I was lactose and gluten intolerant. Its not an allergy, i can still eat them, but they dont agree with my GI system. For years and years i just assumed I had a weak stomach and was even diagnosed with IBS. I cut out the gluten and no problems anymore. Gluten intolerance isnt common...but more common than you think. That being said gluten causes people to bloat a bit even it they arent intolerant. Cutting it out for a couple weeks makes most people look a bit leaner immediately. So what foods do you want? Focus on foods with a high nutritional value, or BV. The highest out there is Whey Protein Isolate. Someone mentioned earlier in the thread there is no real reason to take protein shakes. Which is true...you dont need to...unless you need to. If you find a good protein shake that's main ingredient is whey isolate and it doesnt have a lot of sugars or additives then there is nothing wrong with supplementing your diet with it. You're going to get good quality fast absorbing protein with high nutritional value. Eggs are another food that has an incredibly high BV. Beef is also up there, but you have to be careful because beef an be calorie dense as well as fatty. Ideally you want naturally raised grass fed beef. I could go on and on and on...but it's too much to start. What I would suggest to start with is experimenting with trying new stuff and cutting old stuff. Everyone's body is unique and you are not going to know what works for you until you try it out. Maybe try a couple weeks without gluten or dairy and add in more leafy greens, nuts, beef, seafood, fruits and see what happens. If nothing happens maybe slowly add some gluten back in and see if you notice anything now. Also try to eat less processed foods and more whole foods. Last advice...plan plan plan! If you plan your day in advance its easy! If you dont its easy to make bad or not good decisions. Plan out your breakfast, lunch, dinner, as well as snacks in between. Going out to eat? Look at the menu online before hand so you know what your opts are and have time to make an informed decision. Fiend I am about to take my last voyage, a great leap in the dark. - Thomas Hobbes.

Skydivers MUST watch Airplane Repo tomorrow!!!!

Skydivers MUST watch Airplane Repo tomorrow!!!!
FreeFallFiend replied to normiss's topic in The Bonfire
I was visiting a DZ once when a plane got repo'd. I was actually climbing the ladder when the fuel truck pulled in front of the still spinning prop. Everyone was ordered off the aircraft. OK no big deal we figured they were gonna hot fuel it. Next thing we know some guys hop in the plane and a couple min later the pilot is getting out with all the seatbelts. Took off shortly after that and jumping was done for the day. Fiend I am about to take my last voyage, a great leap in the dark. - Thomas Hobbes. -
The same way I explain the abused wife who "fell down the stairs" when it comes time to press charges, after she originally calls the cops for the dude beating on her. I have a hard time buying into the story told from the winners POV that's all. DUDE. Did you even read the articles or listen to the 911 call? The 911 call ENDS after GZ's wife said the cops had approached GZ. It was the COPS that said there was never a gun. This is a completely different situation since there were multiple witnesses and law enforcement. Why was GZ just sitting in his car? He was likely waiting on the cops to show up since he knew she was on the phone with them. Listen to the 911 call. She says "he keeps putting his hand on his gun." Not two minutes later she says the police are there and had approached him. They found no gun. Fiend I am about to take my last voyage, a great leap in the dark. - Thomas Hobbes.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponzi_scheme I have never been able to wrap my head around social security. It is the very definition of a Ponzi Scheme. Private investors do it and get thrown in jail, yet our government mandates that the rest of us pay into theirs. Fiend I am about to take my last voyage, a great leap in the dark. - Thomas Hobbes.

Actually I have this system, and for anyone looking for a complete helmet cutaway i would recommend it. It's very easy to install and use. Since the spring is compressed when installed it does not present any snag hazard. Fiend I am about to take my last voyage, a great leap in the dark. - Thomas Hobbes.

+1 I have a Phantom2 and a Squirrel Colugo. I'm heading to Switzerland to WS BASE in 2 weeks and I'm taking both suits. Even when I was shopping for a more advanced suit I never intended to get rid of the Phantom. It's a great suit, lots of range, very intuitive, and just a blast to fly. It's nice to have in my arsenal. Fiend I am about to take my last voyage, a great leap in the dark. - Thomas Hobbes.

Yes, in fact my degree required 3 different statistics classes just on the BS side. The main point in all of them being you can make statistics say whatever you want. I still disagree with the sample size and your posting of someones ambiguous opinion on a blog isnt going to change my mind. I suppose my whole argument however is completely besides the point since the sample size wasn't even a true random sampling to begin with. Article Title: "A Third of Louisiana Republicans Blame Obama for Hurricane Katrina Response Under Bush" -274 Republicans were surveyed -29% of people blame Obama -29% of 274 is 79.46 people -In 2012 the population of Louisiana was 4,602,000 In other news 90% of Americans believe in Santa Clause. (Survey conducted with 24 students in my nephews Kindergarten class) The only people being fooled here are the ones that don't understand statistics and/or believe every headline they read. No really, all arguing and snide comments aside, does ANYONE think a sample size of 274 in a population of 4.6 million is in the least accurate or responsible for conclusive data? (We can even pretend the 274 weren't hand picked.) Serious question here. Fiend I am about to take my last voyage, a great leap in the dark. - Thomas Hobbes.

Suspect's family wants DNA test on Hannah Anderson

This is certainly getting weirder and weirder. Some new "evidence" a few of the media sites are reporting includes: -Hannah and DiMaggio called each other 13 times the day of the incident -Authorities found several hand written letters from Hannah to DiMaggio -Authorities found 2 used condoms at the remains of the house Fiend I am about to take my last voyage, a great leap in the dark. - Thomas Hobbes. -
It's interesting to note that there are blurred lines when it comes to defining sociopathy. Many experts feel they are one in the same, and really just different degrees or forms of psychopathy. What's REALLY interesting, is according to the link you posted, many if not the majority of BASE jumpers fall into the sociopath category.
