Sex in marriage is important and don't let anyone tell you differently. Hope you can work it out. -a 31-year old married guy

Sure, but he only needs a background that is consistent (distortion-wise) with his original shot. This inside part will be cropped / replaced.
-
Couldn't you take another picture for the background? Manually set the exposure for the ground/outside but aim inside the door. Just a thought...
-
The wide-angle lens distortions of the plane/people and the ground look like they are centered in different places. i.e. the people look like they were filmed with the camera pointing at the digital alti, while the center of the ground shot looks like it is left of frame.

There is a common eBay scam where folks clone an old auction, collect funds from the winner then deliver nothing and disappear :(.

Profeel is fast, answers the phone and has great prices. I have bought from them several times and will definitely do so again. www.profeel.com

No problem. If you use the "quote" function, it is really easy for readers to know what is yours and what is not. I responded because some of the advice in the post, whoever wrote it, is dangerous. Lots of folks, including my students, browse these forums looking for wisdom.

Hey, Not to be a jerk, but please be careful with the canopy advice. A lot of what you wrote has issues. No. when you flare, you are changing the flight characteristics of the parachute but not stalling. If you stall, you crash. You should still be flying the wing when your feet hit the ground, and after your feet are on the ground. Please don't make snap 180 toggle turns near the ground. If you are ready for performance turns, learn how to use rfront risers (up high first). We land upwind because it makes our groundspeed lower. That is it. An airmass can either speed up (gust) or slow down (lull) suddenly. Neither is more likely than the other, and you can lose inflation just as easily going into the wind as going downwind when there are sudden gusts/lulls. Some canopies should never be completely stalled. Like you, I was taught early on to fully collapse my main up high and see what happened. I had an original sabre and it was fine. But this is a bad idea with an elliptical canopy. They just don't recover well (and may not recover). Stall turns with a highly elliptical are likely to put you on your back in spinning line twists.

1/4" - 20 refers to the thread spacing on the screw (1/4" diameter, 20 threads per inch). This will fit most any DV or still camera. You can buy 1/4" -20 screws / bolts in various lengths and with various heads at any hardware store. I went to Home Depot and got a few 1/4" -20, 3/8" length bolts w. hex heads. HD also sells plastic press-fit caps. Hammer the hex head into the cap and you have a good thumb-screw. FWIW, Peter, I went to the one in San Carlos. Good luck, Evan PS If you only find longer bolts, a Dremel tool w. grinder or cutoff wheel works to shorten them (use a vise and goggles:))

Alaska, where the odds are good, and the goods are odd.

It's an east /west coast thing. I haven't found decent blue cheese with wings since I moved to California. They keep trying to serve me ranch (yuck....)

ah, a variant of the dreaded boobies scam: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=93449;search_string=email%20scam%20boobies;#93449

No doubt - it is the DZO who decides what planes to buy. The cost-comparison data is pretty compelling. http://utilityaircraft.com/costcomparisons.html Doesn't hurt that it is cool, though!

One really nice thing about the PAC is the engine power (vs a Caravan). Sure, you might only load 14 jumpers on a regular basis, but is nice to know there is safe lift capacity for 18 if you want to cram in a few more for a sunset load. Would have been really cool a few weeks ago when we built that 3-level, 15-way hybrid to have outside video...

OK, mine are done for now. I sent 'em to the first 5 PMs w. email addresses. MissImperfect freefalle Vallerina Spatula EricTheRed check your email

If you want an invite, pick one poster who offered (I have 5 avilable) and PM them asking for it. That way multiple invites don't go to one person, who can only use one anyway. Include your email addy in the PM.

It took you 1000 jumps to realize you weren't a "well endowed lady?"

Did you jump the PAC at WFFC? Thoughts?

Come out to Davis and jump it some more! -
Size the rig for the reserve with which you are comfortable. In my G3 M1, the PD143 works great but is a tight fit (biggest PD reserve that will work). IF you were already planning on a 143/150 reserve and if the Sabre 2 150 some jumps on it, you can get them into an M1. When I bought my rig, I owned a Sabre 150 and was thinking about downsizing. I received an M3 by mistake, which fit the 150 but was huge on an old stilletto 135 I put in for size. When I got the right size (M1), it worked great for the 150. It also worked with the Sabre 135 I got six months later and the Cobalt Competition 120 I currently fly. GIVEN A SAFE RESERVE SIZE, I will always choose the smallest main compartment that fits my current main. Containers are just plain expensive. BE SAFE with what you can handle on the reserve, but it is OK to buy the smallest main compartment that fits your current canopy. You will probably never upsize from where you are at 88 jumps (and will almost certainly downsize).

Inspiring, but... check snopes http://www.snopes.com/glurge/fleming.htm

Did you pull apart hard on the risers? This worked for me yesterday w. tandem line twists on an Icarus main.
-
The PAC is a super-cool plane with lots of tandem-friendly features. Interior grab rails, a tall cabin and pilot-activated door are just a few. But it is different from a Caravan. The door is shorter and differently shaped. If you have your student crouch in the door, they get lower, and it is (relatively) harder to present towards the front of the plane on exit. Not an issue with diving exits towards the tail. We also have brand new anti-skid tape on the step (may be specific to our plane), so kneeling exits are potentially a bit rougher on the students. There are tons of tandems being done from PACs in NZ and OZ, so I figured TMs there might have favorite exits from their experience.

Hey folks, especially TMs in New Zealand and Australia: What is your prefered tandem exit from the PAC 750XL? Thanks, E
