34% of sexual assaults are from a family member. As bizarre as this situation was it's definitely not beyond likelihood.

Good. More proof that Mueller is independent of political influence.

I don't think the text has enough contrast with the background.

Is there still a "my stuff > posts" path? That's how I previously navigated.

The key part of this is: "The special counsel’s office learned about Trump’s directive for Cohen to lie to Congress through interviews with multiple witnesses from the Trump Organization and internal company emails, text messages, and a cache of other documents. Cohen then acknowledged those instructions during his interviews with that office." This is no longer "Cohen says". "Cohen says" doesn't stand up in court. Independent interviews, emails, text messages and documents is admissible. Now what?

Right, and yet the rhetoric from the PM, any time her process is criticised, is that everyone should support her in doing what the 'British People" have demanded. For reasons I can't fathom, even the opposition leader (of a traditionally Europhile party) has until now ruled out asking for a second referendum. Why? When they voted did "the British People" know that the best possible deal that would result would be so bad it would bring a parliamentary defeat of historic proportions? That's a huge bit of new information that wasn't available when the 1st referendum happened. Hopefully the world will realize that this is a poor way to decide something of such importance. The 51% concept works on things like a two candidate election because you have to simply have to decide between two choices. For policy decisions the outcome really does need to represent not only a larger portion of the vote but a larger portion of the population. Just for the sake of what the numbers would look like 50% of the population would equate to a 70% vote for the UK in that election. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

What I don't get is how a VERY VERY VERY important policy decision is made because of a 51.9% favorable vote. From polling numbers that only represents roughly 36% of the population of the UK. You don't even need to discuss whether it's a good or bad idea because it's clearly only supported with a national emotion approximating "Meh...". Guys, I know we're all talking about this with a mood of frustration and exasperation but let's let's leave these soldiers out of the punchlines. Yes, I know I'll do the exact same thing the next time my mood changes and no I'm not trying paint some sort of Lee Greenwood mural of saintly soldiers who can't handle being part of the joke. Most of the current criticism is that the State Department disallowed the military response, I believe the primary one is that the security contractors had laser targeting hardware available to them and that an F16 launched from Northern Italy would've been able to arrive and delivered coordinated air strikes. That's some GI Joe/Hollywood bullshit if I ever heard it. Ambassador Stevens wanted to bring diplomacy out from behind the exact barricades and armed guards that detractors say would've protected him. As for these statements about whether The Video was the reason for anything... Who cares? It's what the CIA also thought at the time and considering that they were the ones on the ground there I don't fault Obama or Hillary or Rice or anyone for repeating it. Huh? To add onto Phil's comment, I've read TriGirl's posts for a while. For her to say it can't be rape because it was a family member who did it goes against just about everything she seems to stand for. There are a few people who I would expect this sort of comment from. She is NOT one of them I don't think she's making a stone tablet statement about what is or isn't rape just responding within the context of our conversation that it may not have been someone who sexually assaulted her for their own gratification. The idea of a family member inseminating her is also rape and is also abhorrent. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

How about Trump destroying the translator's notes in his conversations with Putin? Aren't there a lot of chapped asses over Hillary having disposed of the her old phones and electronics. Anyway, her emails are there for any investigative body to see and none of them have found anything damning. Sure, some were not recoverable but the thing is she wasn't able to selectively block investigators from recovering any specific email. Mostly lost emails were recovered on the other end from recipients along with standard recovery efforts of the digital material. Investigators were then left with a cross section of her previously deleted emails which again showed nothing damning. The people still chanting the "Lock Her Up" BS need to come to grips with the fact that there's nothing to send her to jail for. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

There IS a problem with global warming... it stopped in 1998

Just more crazy alarmism from you and Chris Mooney. Here is some factual context. https://wattsupwiththat.com/2019/01/15/taking-down-the-latest-washington-post-antarctic-scare-story-on-6x-increased-ice-melt/ I agree that anything from Chris Mooney should be met with a skeptical eye. That said I haven't looked at his source material for this article. Having briefly scanned the wutsap page it looks like their fact checkers note that the sea level rise described in the article is consistent with what we know but not more. There are other (better) sources who have published recently that ocean temps are higher which means that rate of melt will be higher. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher -
I was thinking the same as Tri mostly because this is already so far into the world of unbelievable that the rules that govern what you expect are out the window. I think you would, unfortunately, look at the definition of "rape" and see if it applies in this f'ed up situation. Add to that the family may have POA and medical POA, so would insemination fall under a med procedure? Brave new world.... Oh, I don't even mean that them inseminating her has anything to do with how we define rape, just that there's the way-the-fuck-out-there possibility that it wasn't someone physically climbing on top of her for sexual gratification. Wow, even typing these words is abhorrent. I hope this child has a happy life and that the person who did this to her is apprehended. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

The grounds for investigating don't necessarily work like that. You start looking into it "investigating" and THEN you gain evidence. Sure, you can start with a dead body or someone handing over something like emails between campaign members and other parties but it's not needed. If the mayor of your town fired the police chief after the police chief was looking into something relating to the mayor and he said something to the effect that he fired him because of that thing... I'll let you take it from there. In this case they were just doing their due diligence. Let's say they found something that compromised national security, you would probably want them to do something about that right? It's not even a matter of prosecuting Trump because the executive may be the exact person to bring that to so that they can extricate him from whatever that thing is. I know that Fox is painting this for you too seem like more Deep State/Obama corruption but it really is what they need to do to protect our President and our country. https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/the-brazen-plot-against-trump-by-the-obama-fbi-and-doj-continues-enabled-by-a-complicit-media From the video header of our article: "Rep. Peter King: 'Absolutely disgraceful' of FBI to question if Trump's motivation for firing Comey was tied to Russia." From Donald Trump's mouth, he was thinking of “this Russia thing” when he decided James Comey’s fate – contradicting the White House rationale that he fired the FBI director for mishandling the Clinton email investigation. The FBI was literally doing their job. Did they find anything that stuck? Doesn't look like it so they put it on the shelf. Quit freaking out about nothing. You're also one of the people who applauds the FBI every time you see an article about them looking into Clinton. It's what they do. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Besides that this is an incredibly demented thing to do does he really think that $5.7bn number is going to get the wall built? I thought that was just a "get more money" number since he's previously stated that he needs something like $25bn and it most likely would cost over $50bn because of real world issues. Border patrol union deletes their previously lengthy and long standing opposition to further spending on border walls: "Walls and fences are temporary solutions that focus on the symptom (illegal immigration) rather than the problem (employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens),” the now-deleted page says." Also noting that barriers, fences, etc are necessary as long as this issue is ignored. https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/59v7k3/border-patrol-union-just-deleted-a-webpage-saying-a-wall-would-be-wasting-taxpayer-money Why would they do that? Ah, Trump invited their new union President to share the stage and they needed to get their political story straight. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Let me know when you are Do you understand the fact that the money was given to the organization for things that had nothing to do with elections well before the elections were even announced? Even if they saved some of that money how can you say that Obama gave it to them "for the purposes of overthrowing" the sitting leadership? There's a better argument that you personally fund terrorism by using gasoline in your vehicle. So now that you're caught up, explain how Obama was going to give funding for an election that he didn't know was going to happen that was mostly spent on other things. The article said the family is cool with keeping the child -- he's even "wanted." That just adds to my suspicion that they may have wanted him enough to do something to lead to his creation. So at the end of the story, he may not be the offspring of a rapist. The violators could be his own extended family. I took that to mean they were going to raise him as a family member but I admit I have a concern that there's something going on I don't even want to think about.
