It's more like that as the population and work force grows it needs to stop undercutting itself by working for such low wages, it's not sustainable in the long term. The contractor gig-market is a glaring example of that as the taxi business in the US has almost entirely evaporated. Gone are the day's of pensioners walking away from 30 years doing a 9 to 5 middle income job and retiring to a warm house with pictures of their grand kids. I have no sympathy for people who make loads of money off the shoulders of people working for a "living wage" but it's the fault of those on the bottom end not standing up for themselves. Sheep will be shorn as long as they let it happen.

And considering Satellites are now the backbone of global communication and therefore commerce...

Pick your number but either way Trump won by a landslide

Yeah, he had to eat his hat on that one. -
I'll tell you why. Trump's reelection committee just got done with their first cycle of planning and figured out that the thing Trump can get hammered on the most is having done nothing about the ACA. There's a perfect amount of time to put together some vaguely defined terms and catch phrases that he can ride through the election without having to actually produce results. Any actual change that didn't first address the cost of healthcare would be just rearranging deck chairs anyway which suits his (and every politician's) needs just fine.

No, low voting representation in poor urban areas also results in shit schools. Wealthy people in the city send their kids to private schools so they also don't give a shit.

I couldn't access the article but there had better be some community service and outreach going on here.

Couldn't have happened to a better ambulance chaser.

Ah yes, they'll sing songs to her irony.

How has Twitter let those stay up, it's very clearly internet bullying.

I have Trump supporter friends who point at this as him being a benefit to the nation by breaking the system and forcing it to be built anew. I say, no that's called solving a problem we never had.

Aside from my worst case example I'm sure we understand that it's a bad idea for states to pull qualifiers out of a hat for federal elections.

His "attempts" included not only firing Comey, which he admitted was "because of the Russia thing" but his very vocal stance against the intelligence community who was investigating Russian influence and includes his actions to fire and revoke security clearances to many individuals who were acting in the best faith of their office. My faith in our investigative body is stronger than even because they conducted an investigation that was devoid of politics and for the benefit of our national interest.
-
I agree with you. Russia has repeatedly tried to influence our country and this investigation was a part of the ongoing effort against that despite the President attempting to undermine it.
-
This is why I agree that population is not the ultimate factor in voting. If a state's economic and social needs are not met and their influence is eroded you'll see further and further disparity against that member state. A very good example of this is that rural areas have very little influence on how much funding their schools receive because their votes count so little in changing how school funding is created. Higher population centers simply outvote them because they see it as their tax dollars being used for someone else's kids. The result is that fewer and fewer people economically advantaged people are willing to move to those areas so they see an intellectual exodus. Another example is the agriculture industry. It's vitally important to trade and our national interest yet the highly populated centers may simply outvote measures that keep it safe.

Would you mind deleting the link from your quote of Billy post? Billy, could you do the same? Moderators, if their clock has expired, can you delete it?

Ewww, just delete that channel.

Wait, I thought you said the investigation was fake. What changed?
-
I read that in my head in Mitch McConnell's voice, was a bit strange.
-
Yes, the issue of how to solve a problem is up for debate. That's no game, that's literally the thing we're doing.
-
Then that needs to be set on the federal level. Do you really want each state picking their raison du jour for not allowing someone on the ballot? Edit: Let's say, for example that in the effort of transparency that Mississippi decides they don't like a female candidate so they require that full medical records be disclosed because they think candidate XX had an abortion 20 years ago and it can play to their advantage.
-
I think it's a little dramatic to call it Tyranny but it's a fault that swings one way and then the other at a glacial pace. It would be politically impossible to set up a more reactive handicap system that would balance long term national interests against short term popularity. You'll have a much better outcome by fielding candidates who represent the interests of both heavily populated cities and sparsely populated rural areas. The fact that they're sparsely populated doesn't make their industries and needs less important to the national interest.

To be fair their government is doing some house cleaning on what information was allowed to be released by who and when. However to say that it qualifies as a coordinated effort towards the HRC campaign is a bit of a stretch.

I can't believe that the fact that they were almost killed in that airplane didn't make the rounds.

So you're saying that the Ukrainian government in it's effort against Russian influence within their own government exposed the person who was providing Russian influence within their own government. Got it.
