I've tried to pack my ZP Lightning in practice to packing a Base canopy. It was practically pointless since it was hard to keep everything together. I wouldn't buy one because: -I wouldn't want to inflict ZP on my rigger. -I would worry about the canopy sliding around despict his best efforts. -I don't care about better forward flight characteristics when it just became more likely that I'll have sink something into a back yard. I've personally had my old visual alti malfunction twice. Once it read 1000 too low, even though I'd zeroed it and checked it on someone else's. (I must have done something myself.) So, I've been skydiving 3 or 4 years now and might have heard the term "reverse risers" but had no clue there were incompatibility issues with them and mix-matched gear. Hey, move to D.C. We're all very busy. Think of it this way. He perceives that your job there is only to fuel your obvious addiction to skydiving. That your ambitions lie in skydiving, not in architecture. I work in an engineering/arch office so I know the attitude. There was this guy who used to work for us. He was very much into being a DJ in his free time. So much so that there were always records arriving at the office for him. He talked about this so much that, even though he was a competent engineer, it was thought that he had little interest in his job other than to fuel his sideline. So...why give him a raise if he won't see it as reward for his good work but just more money he can sink into his hobby? If you don't make it clear to your superior that you're truly interested in career advancement and if you don't challege their perceptions of you then they'll continue in their ignorane.
