I got a real cheap 0.50 for my PC105 at Best Buy. Hey...I had a gift certificate. We'll see if it shatters on the first riser slap. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Nah, I just filed electronically in about 15 minutes. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Hey, who hasn't done them yet? I'm about to start my online taxes if I can find a place with a server that isn't bogged down. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Edit to directions: If you discover that you've used jeans that are so old they're threadbare then punch yourself in the dick. Also, if you ever try to wear this thing that now looks like an ass cape...punch yourself in the dick. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

I just thought this up. Instant ghetto packing mat: Get an old pair of bluejeans and go to work with a pair of scissors and some thread. Cut the jeans at the knees, cut the front half off up to the hips and then inward to a point just below the button and over the zipper. (You'll snap the button when you pack and drag.) Should lay out like a square after you sew the legs together. Run your pullup through the back center belt loop to tie off your risers when you pack. I jumped one a few times and thought it was a pretty nice canopy. But then again I jump a triathlon so everything is radical to me. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher -
Has anyone done any experimenting with the tension of rubberband stows on the tail pocket? I imagine, like a D-bag deployment, that the closer to line stretch you are before the cells begin to inflate the softer the opening. Any experiments with something like sleeves instead of rubber bands? Single vs. double stowing the bands? "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

What's the most adventurous or outragous thing you've ever done?

Mooned a cop while standing on a bridge at 2AM. Jumped into the river and swam away. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher -
Hey Allen, why not work with them a bit yourself and give them a written package on jumping with a camera? Or how about putting together a videographer safety seminar and have the group split in half according to skill level and pair off for the season with mentor/student groups. That way you've invited these new video jumpers to ask the more experienced group. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

packing with unstowed brakes I haven't tried this, just regurgitating what was written before. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Anyone want to help me design a logo? For the Veterans....
DJL replied to rhino's topic in The Bonfire
If by interesting you mean that it looks like someone's kid drew it then yes, interesting. I have a couple of friends who are great artists and told them about what you're trying to do. We'll see if they have anything creative or can give a third dimension to my drawing. I was also thinking about just five sets of hands folding the flag. Unfortunately, I draw hands worse than birds. We're still looking for reasons that she should have any respect for you. First, please do post some pictures of yourself. Today's Poll: Does Chad look like Homer? Does Chad look like Brad Pitt? Next, let's hear about your difficult work. Let me guess, you learned how to push the buttons grinding out shifts in the Navy, now you do the same thing but don't have to wear a uniform. And in today's news, a Jacksonville Florida power plant suffered 1 million dollars worth of damages stemming from the negligence of a control room operator, Chad Ehlermann, who's wife bludgeoned him nearly to death. Sources state that after doing a Google search for his name, that she found him making statements in a public online forum about her being a "lazy fat-ass" and further comments about wishing to divorce her so that his life would have less "hassle." Mr. Ehlermann claimed that it was a hoax, commonly referred to as a "Troll." "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

This is like April Fools all over again. First the guy talking about his wife sitting around on her fat ass and then this guy. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

For all the shock humor in which I engage, people find it hard to believe that I don't like Howard Stern. I think he's a jack-ass. He demeans mentally retarded people for ratings. I don't think you can get any lower than that. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Yeah, I can feel your love shining like the sun. Shout it from the mountaintops! Ok...really, are you power plant control room operator or is that part of this whole Homer Simpson thing you're doing? "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Anyone want to help me design a logo? For the Veterans....
DJL replied to rhino's topic in The Bonfire
Hey, here's a "copy and paste" representation of what I'm thinking. The points that I think are important are: -Dimensions of the flag to be official and to be the same as if it were on the third fold. -Historical accuracy of the 5 logos. -Accurate dimensions of the logos. -Simplification of the logos. -Text type. I'm not a very good artist so I wouldn't take the sketch I come up with as gospel but if you're interested in the concept then you're welcome to it. Edit to add .jpg's of sketch. Will talk to you soon. Yes everyone, I know that my eagles look like Toucan Sam boffed a chicken. I have some more artistically inclined friends working on it. Anyone want to help me design a logo? For the Veterans....
DJL replied to rhino's topic in The Bonfire
Combining images results in something that looks like a bad coat of arms. It's better to keep them separate or create a different type of symbol. Rhino, I found something of interest. Each fold of the flag represents something: "The third fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veteran departing our ranks who gave a portion of life for the defense of our country to attain a peace throughout the world." I'm sketching the flag drawn vertically on the third fold with the symbol of each branch along the sides. This could easily be done in stone since it depends more upon shape than color. Hey Rhino, I'm thinking of a symbolic representation of a service member from each branch together folding an American flag. Is color allowed? "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher -
More sensationalization of the dangers of CRW? Psst. Will PM you link for vid that has some sweet CRW and a couple of aerodynamically challenged canopies. Edit: Anyone have a link to the shots of the British 8way team exiting the CASA. Those are sweet CRW shots. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Ok, if he's going to post HIS picture, then I'll post MINE. I'm usually pretty shy but I just happened to have a picture of me sprawled out on my bed. It's really just kinda' nsfw, you can't _really_ see anything. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

UK...BPA propose manditory AADs on all jumpers below B licence
DJL replied to gerrcoin's topic in Gear and Rigging
Was there a problem with UK A/B jumpers not using AAD's or with them having AAD's fire frequently? How about in comparison to other causes of death and injury? Where there policies put in place for these other categories? "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
