I own a Hurricane by Sky Systems..a little costly but a nice Helmet. If you own a Pro track it easily mounts to the side. The adjustable dial in the back snugs the Helmet up to your forehead and neck area. I really enjoy my helmet it also lets me wear my Oakleys snug with no way for them to blow off your face in Freefall. Worth checking out... The glass is half full or half empty doesn't matter. So he said he would drop us out over racetrack..and there we would play with Canopy..etc Got out played little Rw..waved at buddy..pulled and all of a sudden good canopy overhead but noticed nose was facing wrong way..I was flying Backwards faster and more violently on this 120 Diablo..needless to say had plenty of Alt so I chopped just to make sure Reserve would really work..what the Hell a...couldnt really control that damn main backwards very well anyway..Turns out I dont regret it at all. Was over Trees and could not gain control of main...Landed in a Big Ass cowfield..Buddy was able to follow main..Saved my Ass Bro...lesson learned ..check your Stuff out no matter what..A... Yes, This should help flatten your Glide out a bit while your downwind and help you make it back to your intentional landing area. Remember all Parachutes react different. Depending on the Wing and Load. This is a practice I learned from a more Experienced Jumper flying a High Performance Wing similar to mine. It seems to work for me.

Precisely, using rear risers changes the Canopy's Pitch or angle of attack. Different Parachutes may or may not react differently. I do know when I was short and was last on a load to exit I would open high use about an inch or two of rear risers and I could outfly just about anyone on my DZ and make it back. Thats flying a Xaos 78 21 cell loaded at 158 lbs. As for using Front risers --gonna have a whopping good time and get down a little faster.. The glass is half full or half empty doesn't matter. Well, Just depends on what kind of Parachute you fly- may have some factors involved. I dont make a habit of Jumping my Xaos 78 Barefooted....IE Could be Dangerous...ha..so I would consider Jumping a more Docile type canopy for Barefoot landings...and having good Canopy control to land in A grassy area.. its fun and quite an experience if you decide to... Helmets are personal preferences to wear or not. I choose to wear one not only for the protection of my Melon but my hearing as well. Try Skydiving for many years and dont wear much Helmet protection...you dont realize it but your Hearing starts to go to crap...I often talk to Skydivers who have been Jumping many years and they say they wish they would have worn more protection to help prevent some of their hearing Loss. The Decibel rating is Quite high in Freefall believe it or not...
