Just jump your Ass off at every chance. Stay Current get your landings down good on accuracy then go for it. I would try to get some experience on landings that away if you Jump the Balloon and You have to land in a tight area you will be more apt to handling the Situation. I jumped my first Balloon at the WFFC in 2001 F-----G Awesome...what a rush..best solo I ever done.. The glass is half full or half empty doesn't matter. Let go and have the Lord guide your path. I think its important to know how your flaring and know and feel what your arms are doing as well. I have found from my own experiences that flaring without me watching my toggles sometimes i can get a little off on one side. So i started watching my flare by glancing at my hands and keeping the toggles more even in front of me helped my fare stay straight and level and feel the power of the flare a little better. A poll on what we all love...
Dougjumper replied to gatorbait's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Skydiving is a really Cool sport and there was a Love there for me in the Sky. However, when it comes down to it Skydiving is a Sport nothing more nothing less. I dont let this sport or any other Sport consume me to a point where I may get burned out or cant see the light in front of me. I have seen many come and many go due to being burned out or wore out etc in my 18 yrs in this Sport. So for me I keep a positive view about it , Skydive when I can and enjoy it but Live life for other things as well. Life is short and I want to enjoy many things including Skydiving...Peace out.. .. -

I wouldnt say that word about yourself. Like everyone is saying U learned something right. This goes along with my post in gear checks. Be Cool and inprovise, adapt, overcome to any situation. But dont down yourself. Just keep on Trucking.... The glass is half full or half empty doesn't matter. Let go and have the Lord guide your path. He will take care of it all.

Haven't had a chance to jump one yet but from most of the jumpers I have spoke with say the openings are not quite as good as the Xaos 21. I spoke with beezy and chris at Precision and its a hell of a flying machine better speed along with lift etc. The openings are fine but I think you may find the openings on the 21 are a little more smooth... Well, If U add it all up its about a safe skydive nothing else. Im confident on my own packing etc..But that doesnt mean I dont need gear checks. I usually have someone Jumper I know give me a Quick check and Im always looking at my other jumpers so I may spot something and prevent an accident and save their life etc. Most Jumpers that get good and have experience should never say I never need anyone to check me. We all should look after everyone in this sport . I really dont give a Damn how many Jumps U have Experienced or not Experienced Safety can never be Compromised. We need this type of attitude everywhere at every DZ. It keeps Us jumping for a long time..

Dad gum straight man... My Army career started on the Airborne thing and the saying was Army "Be all you can be".I Loved the Airborne and Ranger Idea so went for it and best thing ever happened to me. Life sucked sometimes but man you learn a whole new life about yourself .Stuck with it ..glad I did...Airborne all the Way..and Rangers lead the Way..Best outlook on life and experiences were from this training. Meet and made friends that were part of the Golden Nights and that started a new chapter for me. So Rock on Airborne.....
