  1. But as the Biblical account has him already out of the tomb at dawn when the ladies arrived isn't it more likely that he was gone during the night of the second day? He may have even left the tomb Friday night or during the day on that Sabbath as no one would approach/ inspect the grave on the Sabbath. Peace, Jim B Who cares? Jews count a day from sunset to sunset, not as we do, so dead on Friday (day 1). Friday at sunset a new day starts (day 2). Saturday at sunset starts a new day (day 3). So, even if Jesus rose on Saturday night it would be the 3rd day. lisa lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9

  3. QuoteWhat good beer comes out of Canada? Eh?Quote Well, I have never seen it south of the border, but the best Canadian beer I have ever had is (appropriately) Propeller IPA lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  4. That may not fly in court, but in 1985 I saw with my own two little eyes, a car coming down a (steep) hill with left curve. Many cars at the bottom at the light. Low and behold, much smoke, screeching of brakes/tires. I looked up and saw a man wearing shorts and no shirt (not relevant, just one of those moments trapped in time) cartwheeling through the air over the embankment. The car followed him. Given the trajectory, I find it hard to believe the car didn't land on him, but even if it didn't, the catapult and abrupt deceleration surely killed him. I thought skydivers got that basic fact. lisa lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  5. If you wanted to know my line of work, all you had to do was ask. Instead, you made something up based on your erroneous perception. This fits your modus operandi perfectly. Because being called on it doesn't help you divert the conversation in your intended direction, you throw a hissy fit like a little girl and stomp off. Typical. Feel free to admit you were wrong and take back some of your credibility. I'm kind of new here and don't know what your line of work is, so I can't make any assumptions as to the lucre. Please edify. Thanks, lisa lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  6. I dare you to keep one lit for any length of time (30 seconds or more without smoking it just to keep it lit). lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9

  8. Speaking of cutting and porn, remember in the late '70s when those bumper stickers were cut up to say "In & Out urge" ? Fun times Nice And here I thought that you set that up to see if any of us from that era remembered basic stuff. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9

  10. The generational explanation certainly applies in my case. My dad started installing seatbelts in his cars in the '50s. I remember in the mid-'60s he bought a Ford Falcon with the understanding that when he came to sign the paperwork and take possession of the car, it would have the seatbelts installed. The family got to the dealership, and the seatbelts were nowhere in sight. Dad refused to take the car until they were put in. I don't know why (at that time) he was so adamant, but maybe the fact he was an aircraft engineer had something to do with it. We were never allowed to ride without them fastened, and I have only ever once ridden w/o them. I was driving my convertible in a parade, and the whole time it was slightly uncomfortable, even though I knew I was perfectly safe lisa BTW my grown kids always use them. Habits are a powerful thing
  11. If He wasn't dying quickly enough, they break legs. The stabbing was just to see if he was dead ( blood and water indicates the blood is separated due to lack of circulation= dead, which at the time was the definitive way of determining so) lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9

    What first?

They are much faster to undo than zippers also, but it does take practice. This generation doesn't have the exposure to button-fly. Not too many wear 501s anymore. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9

  18. Half that big makes car dealers scurrying for cover. Dent Dent Dent. It takes a bit (a lot) more to break a windshield, but the car is ripply, and body work is much more expensive than replacing the windshield. put the car you care about the most inside the garage tonight lisa lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  19. This is timely, because today, in Annapolis, MD, I was right behind a silver Tesla. Very attractive! It got a few looks, but then the lookers realized what was making the noise they saw me (red Z06, straight pipes) If I was going to go electric (with this as the option), It wouldn't take much arm-twisting. I am a favor of high-speed low-drag whether it is silent or very loud. lisa lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  20. That awkward erection will go away, but you will have to buy a new pair of pants for the other option. Rather quickly Odd question. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  21. None of this matters as much as whose responsibility it is to change the darn roll: 1. the person who used the last sheet. 2. the person who needs to start the new roll. Not using the last sheet that is glued to the roll doesn't count lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  22. Just to put a little road bump here, the only thing I know for sure is May 21 will be the 33rd anniversary of my first jump
  23. "I agree. Which is why I think we should just rid of gen eds and core curriculum entirely in college studies. There's a time and a place for general education- its called high school. I've only been out of college for two years now but I feel that gives me enough perspective to say that the music appreciation, history and art classes that I was forced to take while I was studying for my engineering degree were a complete waste of my time and money. That time would have better been spent taking more technical electives. I say finish up the general studies in high school and leave college for things that will actually train me for my chosen career." I couldn't agree more! My son is currently at a school called Full Sail which does away with the bullpucky, and in 22 months at 40 hrs a week will give him a B.S. in Game Development. A minimum of extraneous classes, and he will end up with a hardcore degree in programming, with an emphasis in game dev., and a portfolio to boot. The current college system is broken and needs to be revamped on a wide scale. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
