  1. Don't lose too much there are plenty of fast fallers at Pepperell for you to jump with myself included.
  2. +1 Way to blame the pilot for you getting your handle snagged on something.
  3. Tiki Boogie Skydive New England in early September.
  4. Gas Fireplaces. I buy em', sell em', fix em' and sometimes reposes em'.
  5. I've only had two line twists under my canopy and kicking out of them was no big deal. The student canopies you learn under are docile to say the least. Go for it.
  6. That picture is total bullshit. Michael Moore wold never give away food.
  7. You can pick up a used Katana 500 for around $3k, but the 750s will be a bit more. Really though, I would say you should go with a CBR instead of a Katana since Katanas are 100% a chick bike, but that's just me... Can o' tuna as we used to call them
  8. That's hot...oh wait.. you said plow into me...
  9. Just go. I've had great times on days that the drive up looked too cloudy to jump. Emptying the whole otter at 3500' is a blast.
  10. Awesome. Have you done a tandem or are you going straight to AFF? 200 jumps is doable but it's tough your first year. AFF can take a lot longer than you expect due to weather or lack of instructors. Good luck on your goal.
  11. Down on my luck. Had been fired from the family business, laid off from my carpenter job and was working at a bar. The bar manager (who I thought was an asshole) organized a group to jump every year and I said fuck it, why not? As soon as I landed my first thought was, where have you been all my life? Totally unfucked and refucked my life. Took over family business, have 300 jumps and that manager is a real good friend now. (wish I could get him to jump more.) Strange how things work out.
  12. I woke up feeling like shit until I remembered that my life is still exactly the same as before the Pats lost. So the other side of the coin is true as well.
  13. Do you think you're so special someone should come up with a unique saying to keep you from bitching on the internet?
  14. Because Bill could own Billvon.com, and control every aspect of the site. Facebook/Billvon would be owned by Facebook, and they would control it. What you're asking is similar to print advertising vs. a catalog. Why would a company want to print their own catalog when they could just run an ad in a magazine. Even if it was a multi-page spread in a popular magazine, it's limited in it's content and circulation, and someone else controls everything else surrounding the ad. A catalog is a stand-alone publication, where the comapny in question has direct contol over every aspect. I understand control of content etc., but why would GM advertise seeing them on facebook in a tv commerical on NBC when they could just point people to their own domain. I'm not getting this visit us on Facebook idea. Is the cost to place content so high on their own website that they post stuff on Facebook or are they getting more responses on Facebook than their own domain? Do you not know how Facebook privacy works? It has nothing to do with cost of content, it has everything to do with getting you to click a a like button so they have access to all the good information you've already given to Facebook you probably wouldn't give to a random salesman. It would show whether or not you're actually interested and capable of a purchase versus just looking at car porn. Bingo. Now that they have gone public this is going to be a large profit center for them. Much larger than what Google makes from the clicks they sell to their advertisers. IMHO. Remember when you could buy FB for $25?
  15. I hope so. Yesterday I finally broke even on FB again.
  16. Welcome from another professional driving to the dropzone and not jumping while looking at the weather guy. You'll jump a lot more now that you're on solo status, and even more once you get your license...then it will be up to you to sit it out for weather...that's where it get's dicey. As for you solo, well, if on the first jump you swallow the hook, it's the first solo that really sets the hook in there so that you can't get it out. It's that awesome. Have fun.
  17. I have no idea where any of those places are but congrats getting through AFF. Don't worry about the colors of your first rig just look for a solid set up that won't break the bank or your head.
  18. Yep, that's how it starts. Buckle up it's a fun ride.
  19. You don't have coach jumps? Might want to look at a few different DZ's. Rash statement given that there is no tie-in between coach jumps and organized progression. One does not follow the other. Do you know what DZ you are trashing? Looking at different DZ's is not trashing a DZ. I have no idea which one it is, do you?
