They tweaked the motors to get 4% more power out of it, and it's easier to call it 104% then re-calibrate everything else. Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."

I don't know about you, but someone keeping on firing a shotgun while falling over scares me, so many things could have gone wrong. Yup, definately disturbing. Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."

I've got a little Chihuahua mix that started off stalking ants, then beatles and lizards. A few months back we found a dead mice with a broken neck. The dog was pretending that she didn't know anything about it. "Who, me?" She seems to say.... Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. Hey, just my two cents here... i'm right at your weight, and i'm very happy with my 150, still learning a lot everytime i jump it. You can always downsize in the future, what's the rush?

Well, seeing as how your profile says you're from the UK...no sh*t it would be easier for you to work in the UK... It doesn't mention that i've got a malaysian passport, and grew up in singapore. Crap! How do you treat a burn on your face without leaving a scar?

My mom's an oral-maxilofacial surgeon (face and neck), And she keeps saying that wounds in the mouth and face heals pretty quick because it has a good blood supply. I've had stiches just over my ear from an accident involving a flourescent tube, other then a smal bald spot, nothing at all. Just don't burst it, and let nature take it's course. Think of the bilster as natures own sterile bandage. Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move." -
I think the details of the tax code isn't directly revelent. What is revelent that the United States is spending beyond her means. Now, how do you change that? Should it be changed? Can it be changed? I'm studying to be an engineer, not finance. So if i'm wrong with my assumptions, well, i'm here to learn. Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. World sees U.S. in Iraq bigger danger than Iran

But should "World's Policeman" selectively choose his duty based on the severity of the crime, or self interest? There are far worst situations in the world then Iraq. Why not settle North Korea first? After all, the United States, the World's Policeman, and North Korea, the Axis of Evil, are still at a state of war. How about the Rwanda genocide? Libera? Should the World's Policemam be able to defy the will of the UN? I don't think the United States deserves to be The World's Policeman. Vigilante maybe. I seriously doubt that. Just trying to get a travel visa for me involves sending the application in to the US embassy, wait to be summoned for an interview at the embassy, then wait six months before i find out if i get it or not. As you can imagine, travelling to a boogie in the US for me is a bit tricky. I don't even want to think waht trying to emigrate to the US in the current climate is going to be. I've got better luck getting a work visa in the UK. Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."

How about assigning punishment to the action of the aggressor? Fear could be subjective, how do you quantify fear? If a person pulls out a knife and threathens someone, the person could laugh it off or piss himself. I think it should be judged base on the fact that the aggressor threathened with a knife. On the whole, i agree with you that it's not the tool used that the punishment is based on, but the result and how the tool is being used. Thanks for the reply, i'm not afraid to admit when i don't know something, and i look at SC as more of a learning experience through discussion, and less trying to shout out my point of view, and i'm learning something new all the time. Thanks! Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."

Lets say a man shoots his wife on impulse, after following her to a secret meeting with her toy boy, then dumps the gun. It wouldn't help prevent the crime, but it would help solve it quicker. If he took his gun with him when following his wife around because he was suspicious of an extra-marital affair, then that isn't "impulse", that's 1st-degree murder. And you assume that, 1) the gun would be recovered, 2) connected to the crime, and 3) not be a stolen gun that is untraceable back to the murderer. If I was going to murder someone, I'd sure as hell use a stolen gun registered to someone else. Woe is them. I could think of some really complicated situation where gun registry would help, but i think i'll just be grasping on straws. I suppose i just assumed that when a goverment implements gun registry, they knew what they were doing, me bad. But how about in the UK where gun ownership is not banned yet, but restricted? Registering people who are authorised to own firearms instead of the firearms themselves? Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. I have no desire to make them suffer - that's revenge, not justice. Just want to efficiently remove them from the population so they can't do it ever again. Whether they are happy or miserable about it has no bearing on the decision one way or the other. You run into the problem of having to decide what is considered a capital crime, and what isn't. Who decides when a life should be taken? If murder is a capital crime, how about an act if impulse, accidental killing, serial rapists, people who funds terrorism etc. where does it stop requiring capital punishment? I'm glad i don't have to decide it. Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."

Do you want capital punishment for knife crime too? Hmm, that's an interesting question... i don't know. It's not interesting at all. If you kill someone, whether with a gun, a knife, a baseball bat, a board with a nail in it, your bare hands, an ice pick, etc. The crime is murder, that act is 'murder'. What the hell is a "gun" crime? It's a political position instead of a justice driven definition. Capital punishment is for major crimes. we should enforce that why is this considered hard? What if the person is just found walking down the street carrying a board with a nail in it, what should the punishment be for that? I agree with one of JohnRich's post, punish according to the threat, intent, or the crime itself. Doesn't matter how the crime is commited, it's the result of the crime that is important. One thought, if someone is shooting at an empty car with a rifle, is it just punishing the person for vandalism? Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. Unless you're unlucky enough to have a reserve baglock, but you'll have to be very unlucky. edited to add: then again, bill booth did say in that link above that the bridle does not produce enough drag to extract the reserve. I know, i can't justify when a crime becomes serious enough that it merits capital punishment. i suppose the punishment should be what's socially accepted as a fitting punishment for the crime. Life imprisonment without parole for murder? I'll settle for that.

I suppose it depends on what makes the gun illegal. Is it just convicted felons that are not allowed to posess firearms? Is that the sole criteria? Hmm, is the gun considered illegal based on the person carrying it, or is it based on the source of the gun? You got me thinking here, easy answer is it depends on where gun registeration is used. Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."

Do you want capital punishment for knife crime too? Hmm, that's an interesting question... i don't know. Appropriate punishment, however it's defined. I could say that knife crime doesn't merit the capital punishment, but i won't be able to justify why gun crime deserves that punishment, and knife crime don't. Maybe assign punishment to the intent of the person commiting the crime? I don't know, haven't though this through yet. Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."

Anyone? Law-abiding citizens don't always stay abiding by the law, people do things on impulse, and guns get stolen. Also, it makes it easier to identify the legally owned ones. Lets say the police stop someone who is carrying a gun. If it's not registered, it's one more illegal firearm off the street. Without the registeration, it'll be harder to tell. Why don't we look at this as a giant science experiment, since the liberals so heartily embrace science. We are injecting an antibiotic of democracy into a body filled with Islamic disease, in hope of healing the region. Iraq just happened to be the most accessable point of entry. Despite the fact that Iraq was a mainly secular country under Saddam Hussein? All the religious fundamentalist only came out of the woodwork after he was deposed. If democracy was really the whole reason for it, then why did the United States help depose a democratic goverment in Iran in the 50's? Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. That's true, could be that i don't think of practicing a cutaway drill that's not a resulting of a malfunctioning main. Got to go think about it a bit more, Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."

I like to think that a soul mate is someone you could tell anything to, no matter how bad, and still love you because they know you. It doesn't have to be just one person. At least i hope so, i found one and she very happy with her current boyfriend. Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. My personal drill is to go for the main, go for it again, go to reserve. Could the thought process be to try for the main first before going for the reserve? Eugene "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
