  4. I can't disagree with the general topic, but having someone armed within a building full of kids with training less than CQB is too much of a scary thought for me. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  5. eeggghh! Advertisers. They can be lower than Journalists at times. With lil 'nook just days from being born, my wife is now being affected by the fear-advertisements for selling baby products. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  6. One of the biggest dangers of exposing national secrets to those not cleared is the fact that the information if leaked can pinpoint the collectors and agents and their collection process in the "field". Little more research can expose their family members among other dangers. Of course there are other matters involved directly related to National Security. I sure hope they did not have the "robin hood" mentality. Nothing destroys years of work like people who can't comprehend security clearances. Many take the Who What When Where Why of these secrets for granted as mere tight-lipped information. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  7. Got ya. Restraint of trade and all that. Nobody in their right mind would want to visit North Korea. That place is run like a cult. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  8. I always thought our country advised us not to go to certain countries like Cuba and North Korea. I've never heard it was against some law. I could be wrong though. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  10. I'm a realist/neocon. There's a weird explaination here. . . I somewhat believe most (but not all) of both tables. The Realists table as with the other two is written in passive phrases and Ideaology. The Neocon table is written with action and power phrases. It shows what Neocons do where as the other tables show what realists, isolationists, ect. . think There's no consistency in the writing. Of course no one wants to publicly admit to being a neocon. the writing is designed (mayby unintentionally) to call out neocons. I say I'm both according to that table because I would use Neocon action to promote my Idealistic ideals _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  11. True. Not raising taxes is also a good reason for me to vote for a politician also. But promises of not raising taxes may be a red herring as a platform if principles persued generally doesn't require the need for tax increases in the first place. Especially if he's a Senator. Governors tend to have the need of raising taxes as a job requirement vs. a Senator anyways. A politician can safely run his term without raising taxes if he picks the right fights to participate in. He can also achieve this by shifting fundings. In the Presidency though, this may not be possible when you are dealing with the rest of he world vs. inner runnings of a state. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  12. The norm. Just like every other president that has started a war in American history and has had the exact same thing said about them. He has to dangle stuff like "fair-tax" and display belief in the "gold standard" and isolationism in world affairs to garner support. That's all he has on his plate, folks. He's kin to those anti-social types who runs for student body president in college and didn't have a real way to relate to the majority so he sprouted out idealistic non-practical dredge he would instill and promised to be "fresh alternative to those two suit-and-ties type". He would get only 5 percent of the total vote. It is a sad state of affairs if one believes He would because he said so. Nobody believes anything these policians say, why this guy? Belief in this fresh start, new regime, ect, ect. . . to the point one is hanging on his ideas like a life raft in a realm of possibility, requires a lot larger belief coming out of a politician's mouth than the norm of the other politicians. This guy has nothing but a small group of followers who are searching for pure ideals, not practical real-world realities. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  13. I wouldn't say "so many". Those numbers are derived from total contributions from the military which is still very low to meet enough a population slice to be considered relevant. If every military person who donated gave 10 dollars, it still would be less than one percent of the military. for all we know, there probably was only 50 total contributors. The guy is at the bottom of the polls. At least he's not popular here in my bubble in the Navy. His ideas and politics are just too radical and foolish for a lot of people. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  14. anything John Hughes, blake edwards and Mel Brooks.
  15. Those are fun to joust on! Man, I remember the fun we had on those things! _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  16. I have an idea that that 600,000 was going to the barracks anyways as there was a shortage and there's major construction going around naval bases here. They'll probably add a wing by closing up one arm and make an enclosed patio. That money was probably released for some improvements already and was given to that building as a minor decider. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

    Piracy?

It has to be international waters before it can be classified as piracy. Inside territorial waters, it is dealed with according to the laws of that particuar country. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  19. . . .but, what also I believe in is leading them to the water. the govt does a little of this with pell grants and subsidized loans; the rich tend to offer scholarships in the field of their interest. It's one of the few places I have social leanings to. After all, if and when they move on up, they more than pay back the help given by contributing to the economy legitimately. govt gets theirs by their considerable increase of income getting taxed; the govt getting more back than what it invested. They earn it the way everyone else does. hard work, dicipline, knowledge. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  20. Your opinion I mostly agree with. . . Why give hard earned money to people who don't deserve it? It's cosmically wrong and cruel. Yes. It's a waste to give money to anyone whose habits did not get them out of the poverty level in the first place. There's reasons why people are poor in the U. S. You are either unimaginitve or lazy, made major life mistakes in your teens and decided not to rebound, or lack of knowledge and/or dicipline. Or persuit of happiness does not equate a high total worth. Some people like to work for a living. The money will disappear. So not only will the distribution of wealth will momentarily decrease the poverty level (also decrease the high income level), but the poor will soon lose it again (the saying "the fool and his money is soon parted" is pretty old) the newly upper-middle class will be rich again and the entitlement equalibrium will be restored. Then the poor will be even more disillusioned because they cannot understand why they can't be rich, claiming the rich are holding them down and "they are getting richer on our hard work" or such other ignorant phrase. Back to square one but more bad feelings. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  21. You give people money who don't know much about it (for instance, the poor), they will soon be penniless again. Again the lottery types. It's easy to make or receive money; it's hard to keep it. it costs to spend it, make it, save it, transfer it. I believe the poor tend to think of money as something to spend only. You give them money, they will not try to maintain it. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

    The Secret

True. But they are rarely MLMs/Network marketing. This particular type of buisness model is similar to perpetual motion machines: In home-spun theory, they seem to be able to work if you dream hard enough. In buisness/science(market saturation/conservation of energy), it's impossible unless you are at the top. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  23. It's risky. 1) For one, you usually can't see the inside of the home till it has been bought. The owners are going to be there till they get kicked out. 2) Sometimes sabotage. 3) They take several months to close. 4) There may be other Liens on the property that is still owed that you may not find out till too late and then it may be your headache. 5) This particular type of sale is the focus of a lot of get-quick-rich scheme crowd. People like to think they can get rich because a pair of twin midgets say they can. They usually are not a deal unless it's involved in a "short-sale" _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  24. give it another year or so. The foreclosures are starting to amp up right now and hasn't peaked. Just beware of forclosed houses. sometimes they may not be such a deal. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  25. You wanna talk about the "uninsured"? Here in San diego we have our southern neighbors to worry about. It's hard to chase down a hit and runner when they can flee to Meheeeko!!! It's bad enough they use the Interstate 5 as their personal bedroom furniture dump. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
