deal on digital rebel xt, too good to be true?
Derekbox replied to The111's topic in Photography and Video
Using a dell coupon and discount you can get the camera + body for a little over $800 shipped from dell. Typically I find the few extra $s is worth buying from a reliable seller. One who has warrenty support. -
I have my own rack too.

Belay on bitch Belaying Falling Fall on bitch Ill polish your nuts if you traverse my peak, finger my crack and then redpoint my crux. D'Bo out.

In the past I was pretty liberal with leg straps, sometimes tighter than others. Now I always keep the leg pads cinched pretty tight. Best prevention possible. Actually, overall - it seems to help in a few different ways. D'Bo

Typical jump, uneventful opening, great 270, came out into a harness carve (see where this is going?) Had a partial nut under - when I started to come back out of the turn, the nut got pinched and then was shot back out. I managed to stand up the landing for a half second before I collapsed. Funny in hindsight - if it wouldve happened to someone else.... D'Bo

Something I remembered reading once, put your Ring site on the Left side (opposite side of the pilot chute). Im left eye dominate so that works out perfectly for me. By the way, Im pretty sure that jewel came from Norman Kent. Either way when I get my ring site set up - itll be on the left. Also seeing as many side mounts are on the left (see above for a basic reason why) - if you are one of the few who tilt/tuck (left side down and in) your head on opening it really protects the ring site. D'Bo (I am aware that may or may not have prevented this - but it does put the ring sight a little farther away from the PC).

There is no IQ test to be a pilot. There is also no IQ test to qualify someone to make make asinine comments on random internet bulletin boards either. Good thing too - right?

Why don’t we get down to the real issue - Airbus is not American and Boeing is. Fact of the matter is today, with rising costs of everything, outsourcing has become a way to cut corners and make money. The same company overhauling Airbus's offshore is also overhauling Boeings too. Boeings are not immune to poor maintenance either. I have never worked on Airbus's, or Boeings for that matter - but everyone who I know who has worked on them (airbus's) says they are well designed planes and nice to work on. Something I think people should be bitching at is the management of these companies. Jet Blue is one of the few carriers right now turning a profit. All the classic carriers who use there own American, unionized (expensive) maintenance are drowning. Quickly at that. Bitching isn’t going to help. Outsourcing is the way of the future until we see drastic changes economic policies here in America, restructuring of management chains and wealth redistribution (How much does any typical CEO make vs. the man on the floor turning wrenches for the same company?). Do that math. The numbers add up = you can not pay American workers, American worker wages, charge a competitive price and still make a profit. D'Bo

I can tell you the answer to the ultimate question is 42. Im going to have to get the mice to get back in touch with you on what the question is....

In a large open market yes, increase demand generally dictates lower costs if production is scalable and competition exsists. But there is very limited scalability (most of the artistic work and production on these products are done by a typically one or two people) and little competition in the high fashion/top quality jumpsuit market, allowing product prices to go nearly unchecked... How much is an Ourgan suit now? (Don’t get me wrong - I have an Ourgan suit, I love it, it has served me well. But I have almost 600 jumps on it now. But it’s unraveling and its time for a new suit. Yes I know I can get it fixed, but it was made 3 years ago and I have redistributed a little weight. I need a new suit, but honestly I can not afford Ourgan prices.) When new businesses emerge they often take a hit on profit to gain business and exposure. Now I will be 100% honest. I am not advertising Liquid Sky purely out of good will. We are working out a sponsorship plan with my freefly team. So of course it is also in my best interest to promote this product. But shortly I will post pictures of Lizzys jumpsuit (I dont have it in my hand at this very second), contact info, prices and everyone can make there own mind and spend there money as they choose. D'Bo

I got the line on someone new emerging on the market. A guy out of Peurto Rico - under the name "Liquid Sky" Give me a few days and I will get back with contact info. I have seen one of his suits first hand and the quality is amazing. Since he is new in the field he is also still affordable (its a simple matter the longer you have been around, the more business you gather, the more demand you have the more you cost). Ill get back with contact info if your interested. D'Bo

We went up to Skydive Atlanta this weekend. Witness to the naked jump (well from the ground and video). You should have seen Kel moon the camera on exit - beautiful thing. Good times for all. Ironically the video of the naked jump - just shows a lot of naked Wyatt... not pretty either, good thing you could only see his head (not that one). Lucky bastard. Anyways.... good numbers: 1050:20:0 1050 - the number of miles we drove, from Orlando to Cedartown to Thomaston to Orlando with all the little side trips in between - what a true weekend of skydiving is all about. When are you punks coming down to see us? 20 awesome jumps. Got some good training jumps in, did Lizzys 100th, shot some good video, had a GREAT jump with Cutie Mc Monster Boobies.... Cant wait for the Freefly boogie... ;) 0 - Yea just try to get me to buy beer for something lame....

You wont jump a sabre 2 because of something youve heard, despite what over 6000 of them out in the field, most people jumping them love them. Like mentioned before, you have to place qualifiers on statements "like people have died from hard openings on sabre 2s". How many jumps are placed on Sabre 2s vs other canopies (which have also been known to screw ppl up) You had an opening on a stilleto that was hard enough to do serious damage and yet you still jump it, and refuse to jump a Sabre 2. Sounds like very jilted logic. EVERY canopy can (and will once in a blue moon) slam you. Its a fact. I have had some rough openings on my sabre 2, but you know what, I can attribute 9/10 of them to bad pack jobs (mostly bad rubber bands). With over 500 jumps on sabre 2's I can say it is a great canopy and I love it (Yes I have jumped a variety of other canopies). D'Bo

Use the wording - "In sport." If you made a jump today then this is your first year in the sport. On your skybirthday, you will be starting your second year in the sport. Its also a nifty trick for job interviews. If you worked a job for 2 (full) years and 1 day, then you can legitly say "I was in my third year of employment." So by all means have at it, you have been in the sport 2 years now. Congrats. D'Bo
