  6. do what you think is best for you, just remember not to do any weard (read: LOW) stuff with it and that it is not such a big deal if you land out after a bad spot... have fun with it (i pretty much envy you for the downsizing, mine is some 3 years ago) and don't let the excitement about the speed of the turns make you do mistakes (that's what happened to me, but i didn't got hurt, lucky me)
  7. well, here's the report of our little new years adventure: we were in Vrsar on Sunday, 29.12.2002 at 09:00, amongst the first at the DZ, made 3 wonderfull jumps (sunny weather, with some low clowds at 500 m, with holes in through which one could dive ). And in the evening the usuall stuff: BEER!!! On Monday again great weather, with no clowds, again made 3 jumps, later on, not beer, but WINE!!! And on the 31. rain, wich came at the right moment, so we could sleep long and prepare for the party. We waited for the new year with some fellow skydivers in Umag, some 30 km from Vrsar, on the town square with a huge party (where i got lost in the crowd ). But the best part were the 2 jumps we made on the 01. Jan. 2003!!!!!!!!!!!! (does this mean we'll be jumping all year?) On Thursday again rain, so we spent the whole day in Umag... And yesterday, just as we wanted to go home, the DZo said "10 minute call for load nr. 1", thus we stayed and managed to make 2 more jumps!!! (i made 10 jumps all together, 7 with my teammate, 2 solos trying to go headdown, and one with my teammate and George) All in all, it was great, never to be forgotten (hehe, a lot of things that happened were never even remembered )!!!! I realized, that i haven't forgotten the canopy skills i learned last year, and that me and my teammate weren't such a rock solid 2-way sit-flyers we thought to be (on last 60 jumps we never had problems with close proximity flying, even after a fucked up exit, we got together in less then "5" seconds), 'cause we had some hard time not to orbit around each other (but we decided to blame this on not jumping for 2 months and not on ourselves ) So, i wish you all a happy new year, with hours of freefall!!!!!!!!!1
  8. couldn't agree more... here a tape of a cameraman who went in after a horse shoe mal is circling the VCRs, and i guess that's the best thing to do with such footage, to show it to skydivers only for educational purpose, and in no way give it to the media, unless the relatives do it... 9. just checked the weather forecast for next week, and it couldn't be worse... rain, windy, rain, rain... looks like tomorrow will be the only day to jump... and maybe on 1. Jan (but who will be able to jump on the 1st???) i sure do hope they're wrong... Check out the site of the Fallen Angels FreeflY Organisation: http://www.padliangeli.org

  11. couldn't agree more!! and it aint's such a big deal, i'm pretty used to skydiving in sub-zero conditions (the lowest i jumped at was -19 C° at 3.500m and -4 C° on the ground)... just as long as you are dressed warm enough (but not too much:you should move freely, without any tightness due to too many layers of clothing) and run to the pub every 2 jumps for a cup of boiling tea Check out the site of the Fallen Angels FreeflY Organisation: http://www.padliangeli.org
  12. no way dude, how could this happen??? darn, i was really hoping to drink a beer with you... Check out the site of the Fallen Angels FreeflY Organisation: http://www.padliangeli.org

  18. no problemo, hi hombre... my car can hold up to 4 skydivers with full equipment, but unfortunately, if we were really 4 to go, there would be very little room left for BEER Check out the site of the Fallen Angels FreeflY Organisation: http://www.padliangeli.org

  22. yes very old, and VERY scary old sweet hog. and if i remember you started to do some freeflying in that rig, or did you wait until you got your odyssey. later hehe... i too owned a sweet hog (yom 1986), but i couldn't (my brain said no go, but everything else said GO) make myself to not jump freefly with it... it was scarry, especially when a fellow skydiver killed himself due to a horseshoe on a similar rig... but i went on... so, you can call me stupid, idiot, you can call me whatever you like, but you must admit, that i'm one hell of a LUCKY MOTHERfaka!! 24. that's what i do with my Ace 100 (also Atair, sold as Viper in the states), and now i get allmost every time nice openings, some are real FAST, but not neckbracking... that's what i learned from this forum, i also asked some experienced jumpers here in Slovenia about that, and since no one had anything bad to report, i went on with it, and lived happily ever after!
