Won't that make him go blind? quite possibly. but that's a risk i'm willing to take.

As did I until I realized that she did a wonderful job of skirting the question. She related going outside, even once, with being happy. The question put no 'happy value' on outside. Rather, it made it a point to ask if you would stay inside AND be happy, or experience the outside once. Her answer doesn't actually answer the question. Hmmm.... Touche. But in my mind, I did answer the question. You are right in saying that outside does not gaurantee happiness. But I would much rather see that and decide that for myself. If outside was bad, it would help me to appreciate what I have (or don't have to deal with) inside. Either way, for me, knowing is half the battle. There are many things that I have experienced for a short time in my life that I will never see again. For example, lost loved ones. I would never trade my time in with them for anything. A memory, a feeling, a certain energy that you can tap over and over again.... it's worth everything to me. LIVE! Don't hide in the cave and wonder what you are missing outside.

you know what, i'm on the phone right now trying to work it out. it's been done for ages. trust me... not exactly been in my hands. i'll do everything i can to get it up soon, or else i will start the "unofficial skydive tecumseh website" now go entertain yourself while i work on this.

Breathe Scott. We've already told you we are working on it. I promise, I will tell you as soon as it is up. Until then, if you have any questions, ask away. You should definately head out in two weeks for our End of the Year Party/ Halloween Costume Party. It's going to kick some serious ass.

Well, here are a couple more shots of Kevin and his barbie (credit for the photos to Queen Alana!
-
Hm. Interesting question. #2 Why? Because if I have seen the happy place, I can always close my eyes, meditate, and put myself back there. Once you feel happiness you can always draw energy from that time.
-
This is from Alana's pictures. It's really cute. Aweeeeeeeeee!!!!

I didn't see your original post. I hope it wasn't as bad as it sounds. But that's my friend Kevin with the barbie. He used to fly otters at Skydive Chicago and Skydive Tecumseh. The barbie unfortunately didn't make it through the jump. And she also broke a BDay rule by leaving the bridge without a parachute. Kevin got a LOT of funny looks on the way to the ramp.

Not a skydiving weekend, but Bridge Day rocked.
-
Bridge Day 2004 was cool as hell. We had a great weekend all around. It was fun meeting you and about a dozen other dot-commers. Only got one jump off because the weather was pretty crappy, but it was a great one and I'll post some pictures later. Wrongway made his first base jump and did an awsome job. I think he liked it. But I'll let him post about it. Thanks Jason Bell and everyone on staff for once again throwing a kickass boogie!!!

I think this person needs to learn to hook up a canopy Actually, I know a case where there was a very experienced jumper whose RIGGER hooked their canopy up backwards after repacking his reserve. He made a jump and the shit was backwards. It was pretty funny and made for great video.
-
Guess he didn't make it to the grand finale cuz all i see is tommee sue and charles. Too late.

Hey shit... if things are going just fine and you are under control, keep the puppies. Save yourself time, money and hassle in the long run. Either way, just do what's safe rather than thinking there is only one way to do things.
-
Get all your pre-reqs done and out of the way. Make sure you've done the FJC part of it all, etc etc. That way you can just sit through class, make your jumps, take your test and be done. Oh, and I totally disagree on the class being boring. If you truely want to learn to be a good coach, the class should be very informative. The reason they teach that way - telling you what they are going to teach you, teaching you, and then recapping it all - is because that is how you will be coaching most of your students. They aren't teaching you anything about skydiving that you don't already know - they are teaching you how to teach. Good luck. Enjoy.

Okay, hahahahahhaha, this......... 8. Some people are like Slinkies ... not really good for anything, but you can't help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs. .... is my new motto.
-
Geesh. So... you are plummeting towards the earth in a high speed malfunction with a pile of shit over your head. Are you really going to stop and think to yourself... "SHIT!! I better not throw my handles... that wouldn't be the COOL thing to do!!"??? I hear this asked all the time and I'm totally guilty myself. The first question usually asked to the new "cutaway kid" is... "Did you keep your handles???" This just seams retarded to me.... hmmm, save yourself or save your handles?? I hope everyone is smart enough to just do what they have to do. If you keep your handles... bonus. If not.... f*ck it. I didn't keep mine. I threw them motherf*ckers to the handle gods!!! [/rant]

How much did having your first cutaway freak you out, if at all?
weegegirl replied to peacefuljeffrey's topic in The Bonfire
I won't lie...... didn't freak me out one bit. No, really, after my first mal (about 250 jumps), I was really pumped up. But for the first few jumps after I was a wee bit nervous. I think that was caused by a bunch of crap.... borrowed gear, packing unfamiliar gear, etc etc. Just play through your fear. It'll go away soon enough. -
goooooooooooo seeeeeeeeeeeeee Tttttttttttt Jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj!!!!

Hell yeah it does. Our room is the bomb digity. I'll be setting up camp tomorrow at about 3ish. See yah when you get there!!!
