Damn. I still don't get it. Why do people get married if they aren't 300% positive it is forever?? Because if you aren't for sure, all you are doing is playing a very, very, very, very expensive game of russian roulette. I agree... bonfire fluff. Sorry, not to be mean, but if you are making a post like that, then I'm sure you know the answer.

Dayum! 4% of the people who have voted make over $500,001 a year?? That's impressive! My guess is that would make them either doctors or lawyers. Cool!

Happy Birthday!!!!

You know what I think? I think you are thinking about it wayyyyyyyy too much! Everyone has that fear. If you focus on it, it intensifies. What you need to do is think about all the positive things. Convince yourself that there is no need to be afraid. And before you can think too much about it, just go out there and do it. Easier said than done. I know, because I too went through that fear at different stages of my static line progression. Just try to stay positive and to control your fear. Say, okay... I'm allowed to be afraid for this amount of time, but then I am going to harness that fear and get the job done. If this is not making sense, I appologize. It makes sense in my head and it is 2 am. Oh well. Either way, congrats on the first handful of jumps and I hope to see you post about the next ones.

Unfortunately, tonight is the worst night of my life to date. Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that!! What happened? Are you ok? It's all good. No worries. Just a really bad night. But for every bad night, there's a promise of at least a dozen good ones. Thanks for the concern! Now, if I only had another beer.

How often have you had a parabolic ride before exiting?
weegegirl replied to UKKid35's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm confused. And why wouldn't you have a choice????? You always have a choice to jump or not to jump. If there is every any doubt - STAY ON THE PLANE! I've ridden the plane down a few times because I didn't feel well or I didn't like the conditions. Maybe I'm just confused about what you are saying. -
I'll play because I'm a hopeless picture freak. These are from our trip to Kiawah Island this summer. 1st - My baby nephew Jack, taking a bath in the kitchen sink. 2nd - My 4 yr. old nephew Jeff practicing his golf swing. 3rd - My other nephew Kai goofing off. 4th - Wrongway and I at the beach in the early morning on our last day.

Just a personal memory that was sparked while watching this movie... A few weeks before 9/11, I was at a bar in my old hometown of Worcester, MA, with a couple of my girlfriends. It was an Irish pub that we used to frequent on a regular basis. We walked in, and to our pleasant surprise, the bar was packed full of firefighters from all over the country. They had all just finished a two-week program that they run each year - a summer camp for child burn victims. My girlfriends and I ended up talking to a handful of these heroic men for the better part of the night, and even having a few after hours drinks with them. They were funny, strong, intelligent, fun-loving guys. Most of the men we were talking to were from Queens, NY. We exchanged email addresses and phone numbers with the guys and kept up with them for the weeks before 9/11. We were devistated when we found out that most of them lost their lives during the events at the World Trade Center. I just remember thinking when I met them how wonderful they were to be giving two weeks to go "play" with these burn victim children. Not only that, but how much excitement they showed when talking about the two weeks. They were really cool and I think about them a lot. So, to me, this movie was a great honor to those fire fighters who have lost their lives.

If every movie had a happy ending, I wouldn't pay to go to the movies. I thought the ending was unpredictable, which was nice. The truth is, bad shit happens when you live on the edge and work in a risky field. The good guys don't always make it. I didn't see it as melodramatic, I saw it more so as realistic. Just my opinion.

Anybody A Ray Dream Studio 5, Bryce3D, and/or Poser User?
weegegirl replied to a topic in The Bonfire
I've used Poser before. Never for anything serious. Just playing around. Personally, I got bored with it pretty quick. -
Would you trust a dental school student to work on your teeth?
weegegirl replied to weegegirl's topic in The Bonfire
I tried calling three different dentists that all said I'd have to wait at least a week for an apointment, even on an emergency basis. I finally asked the last one if she could recommend anything and she pointed me to the Dentist School Clinic. Right now, I'm ready for anything. So I'm guessing I'm going to head to that clinic tomorrow morning. This shit stinks!!! Not sure how serious it is, but it hurts. Last night I had to take a bunch of pain killer just to fall asleep. And I can't eat. -
Would you trust a dental school student to work on your teeth?
weegegirl replied to weegegirl's topic in The Bonfire
I don't have insurance and I haven't been to a dentist in a while. But..... &%*(#$&@(*%&*($&.... OUCH! I have some problem going on for the first time since I was a kid. The University of Michigan Dental School has an emergency clinic that apparently is about 1/3 the cost of a regular dentist. Is this a bad idea? Would you trust a dental school student to work on your teeth?? Should I fork up the money for some dude with a license?? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.... it hurts. -
