where do they get that drug use is encouraged? I don't think the safehouse is encouraging drug use so much as it is helping decrease the spread of HIV and Hep-C (and/or other forms of Hepatitis). i think it's a step in the right direction. at least it is one part of a multi-staged program aimed at HELPING these people instead of throwing them away as sub-humans. there is NO simple cure for an addiction.

I failed my level 3 once AND my level 4 once. i think i turned out okay...depends on who you ask. Chris, way to hang in there! arlo

Oh gee! cat's outta the bag. and of course, it was MY team. It was all about me. I forgot i even had any teammates. We all sucked SOOOOOOO badly that we had to find someone to win for us. it took an incredible amount of money and effort to convince dvg to jump with us. we trained hard WITH david the entire season, it was incredibly expensive, but you know, we did it. we paid david to take that bronze for us while we sat back, drank beer and watched him go (that medal cost us $3.50, by the way). i had to hire an accountant to keep up with all the money being paid out to our hired gun. we ALL know that one good person on a four-way team is all you need to medal (nationals, cir. 2001). as far as being self-rightous: you're right. anyone that's ever claimed to be my friend or that has come to my defense ... has been paid by me. more hired guns. arlo (guess some of the money used for sponsorship was needed to proofread that post)

spot on, jason. respect is earned, not bought. that is why we play well together and support each other...in everyday life and especially during competitions.

easy paul. i saw that comment was in response to the professor's. i thought it was someone saying if john had 100 jumps, he could go. If you re-read the part i quoted and think it's directed towards john, you'll see what i was laughing at.

I spoke with Roger at alti-2 today (thurs). he said it would be another week or so. the only Neptunes that are currently out there are the ones being tested. Don't fret, though, since this is pretty standard for new release stuff. Alti-2 has always given me great customer service as a dealer and as a customer. It is just up to us to patiently await the new baby. :) arlo p.s. what up lip!!

Hey Jason :) you guys had your heart and soul in it and you had my support all the way...even though we were competing against you. :) How cool is that? Look forward to seeing ya in june. We'll have to make sure you stay on good beeeeeeeehavior. arlo

i have to disagree. Some of the best skydivers i know had very little money to train (that's where actual "talent" comes into play). Some of the more self-promoted teams that have visible financial backing still can't pay to be good skydivers and they still suck.

Check out the Events section of dz.com. A silent auction and raffle are being held at Skydive Deland to help out our friend and my old teammate Chris Colwell (who was paralyzed 3 weeks ago while freefly coaching). The incident can be found here: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=457490;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread). I dunno how to make it a short clicky...i suck. :) -
I second that thought, Oren. No speedos at the Hills....and you wonder why i've been scarce there this year. :) For the love of God and all that is good and holy....no speedos!! :) love, arlo

Wind tunnel--Las Vegas or Orlando
arlo replied to k2everest's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
would that be Kenny Tremblay? :) tell him i said hello. now to answer the question LV vs MCO? Skyventure Orlando hands down. coaching is available from tunnel instructors (some of which are AFF instructors), hired coaches, etc. Also, airline tickets from CA/NV area are around $200 round-trip so if that's do-able, i'd recommend it. if you need help in arranging coaches or time, PM me and I will get you set up or answer any specific questions you might have regarding the tunnel). good luck with whatever you decide to do!! :) arlo -
sure you can.

you men and your maps (or lack thereof)...geesh! kev, read the legend for it. :) they are listed from "operational" (red) to 'it'd be nice to have one here' (yellow) and those in-between. the only operational Skyventure sites are in Malaysia and orlando. hope this helps... arlo

What are my options for anniversary jump?
arlo replied to RogerRamjet's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
no sweat Roger. as a matter of fact, he and i are discussing another fund-raising boogie for the 4th. last year, it was to benefit Jump for the Cause (breast cancer research). this year it may be the American diabetes foundation or something... or maybe we could call it the "welcome back roger boogie :)... glad i could help... arlo -
