WestCoast Wingsuits Weekend at Skydive Oregon!
bodypilot1 replied to bodypilot1's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Looks like we'll be bringing a nice flock from the Nor Cal area up to Oregon to have some flockin' fun! -
So you want to be a TM and/or AFF Instructor
bodypilot1 replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Instructors
All you need is the hours, years and jumps. They pretty much give away the rating nowadays. Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com -
True. I'm just glad I was one of the 200 that didn't.

The anti fog coating works great, usually untill you have to wash it when it gets dirty. After washing it you can recoat it with more if you choose. To keep from getting it fogged in the plane, have it on as little as possible to prevent the moisture in your breath from fogging it up, and try to purse your lips to the vent holes in the front and try not to breath through you nose. Unless your a heavy breather......? Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

finding your e.p. handles in freefall
bodypilot1 replied to heidihagen's topic in Safety and Training
Being able to touch of your handles, pc and reserve handle, is something you want to practice while remaining stable during freefall. If you have a hard/no pull on your main pc, you'd better be in practice and able to remain stable for pulling your reserve handle. Touching them in freefall isn't going to dislodge them unless you pull on them. The velcro should be good enough for them to remain secure, if not get the velcro on the harness replaced immediately and do not jump the gear! That has to be one of the craziest thing I've heard. Regardless of your silly analogy, KNOWLEDGE is key to keeping you alive! KNOW how it works! KNOW where the handles are at! When it comes time to use them you'll have no douts you'll be able to use them in a timely lifesaving manner. Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com -

Well, atleast until you have a few thousand jumps, then it only comes out of storage for LAUGHS. Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

How true at is. I've found that most students learn better when taking all their Instruction from one person, rather then having to have things explained in different ways by some other Instructor they get handed off to. I also shoot video of every jump that they do and do a total debrief of their jump, from exit to landing. (Video is included on every skydive at no charge) Having the students see a video of the skydive and pointing out the good and bad points of the jump GREATLY inproves the learning curve. Be safe. It's common for the students to sometimes miss their Instructor in the air with them, but soon they forget all about us.... Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

First off, asking your instructor is the best thing to do in this case. Rely on his instruction and you should do just fine. Looking at the ground will tend to make you lean forward and possibly make you flip forward. Looking at the sky and not extending the legs enough may make you flip backward. Doing a poised exit is as simple as rotating your body 90 degrees, steping off to the side alittle and letting go. Watch the plane fly away as you exit and think of doing a nice relaxed arch. It will take a few seconds to get to terminal velocity, so just relax until you see your flat to the horizon. Have fun! Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Then why get the rating and choose not to use it on a regular basis? Nothing say quality like uncurrency.....? I now it's abit off the subject of the thread Bro, your a friend, try your best to get a Cypres and stay current doing AFF.

Thanks for catching my typo. Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Ya mean something like do a hook turn and femur in right in front of the crowd? Or swoop the crowd and take out a spectator? Give the guys a frickin break if they all landed safely and everyone walked away uninjured. Most dont know the difference of what canopy does what. Most just respect we have the balls to jump and that we can jump from a plane and live! Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Right on Jason. I'm glad he had a great time!

You dont "pick" the AFF students that may try and kill you. Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Sure it can be done!

They would probably not inflate enough to maintain ridgidity and thus be useless. Possibly something of light weight carbon fiber that straps to your calf may work, but then would be in the way during pull time and could be dangerous. For better lateral stability, dont fly with your arms so ridge all the way out. Extend your arm out to your elbows rolling your shoulders forward and use your GTI wing extention grippers as your ailerons for slight heading corrections, tweaking your wrist and pulling the gripper down for drag. Look forward in your direction of flight and think of sucking on your stomach and huntching your back up abit and maintain constent leg awarness so they arent the cause of your instability. If you start to wobble, relax alittle and continue to slowly try and regain that max postion. Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Question for an attorny-can you refuse service to anyone?
bodypilot1 replied to cutaway1's topic in The Bonfire
It's his house, he can do as he wants. If he fires the people that work for him for jumping at other DZ's, he'll soon be the only one working for himself. Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com -
Yep! Where are we if we don't try! Be safe. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
