  1. Peeling off both handles and replacing them daily will wear out velcro very fast. It's good to check, but if its your gear, and always in your control, checking to make sure the velcro is mated is sufficient. Always make sure the ball is swedged onto the reserve cable too. Try adding check AAD, and make sure cutaway and reserve handles are in place to your "before every jump list". Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  2. From flying with a friend that is 195lbs and 6'1" in his GS1, I can tell you that comment is utterly ridiculous...... Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  3. Wrong. He meant he doesn't want to be around Family, but instead will choose to take his wife and 2 girls with him to the drop zone and celibrate Christmas. Bill and Kathy have always celibrated Thanksgiving and Christmas at the DZ with skydivers. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  4. Glen, lets not turn this into something stupid, like who got a patch in a bar thing. There is already enough stupid shit posted on this forum these days to make anyone avoid it anyway. It's not hard for someone to do alittle asking around as to would be better for giving some instruction, patch or no patch....... Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  5. Exactly, that is why jumpers wanting to learn to fly a wingsuit should choose wisely as to the instruction they are getting, as well as who they are getting it from, and not the just some Yahoo with an extra wingsuit...... Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  6. No, not really. You probably relate to landing patterns and wind conditions better, but thats all. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  7. Has anyone ever? Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  8. Here is Glen trying to fool another innocent bird into thinking he's really a Donkey........ Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

  11. You might want to rethink that. Try flying the suit with you shoulders rolled forward and palms facing the sky like on the SM1, then try flying with your elbows locked forward, shoulders extended up and palms to the ground. You'll notice the leading edge of the wing perform better with the grips as they are. Let me know what you think. Ed Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  12. OK, here's one from my cell phone today....... Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  13. Are you serious? If you have ever had the chance to catch an unstable, and usually spinning, student and recover them to a stable position, you'd understand how brutal the impact can be sometimes when your stopping them to get them stable. If you think you cant break your neck in the sky, maybe you'd better reevaluate the sport your in. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  14. With the tunnel instructor spotting you for the first few tries it rather easy. Are you a tunnel Instructor? How many AFF students have you taken into the sky? How many have you had to catch and recover them from being unstable on their back to make this assumtion? Are you an AFF Instructor? Not for some.
  15. If it's worth peace of mind, yes. Having another rigger open up your container may involve repacking your reserve too, but maybe the angry rigger did your repack too and you'll question that also....... ps: Dont make your rigger angry. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  16. The transition from back to belly is the same as you would on a skydive. Arching the torso as you bring in one arm to your chest. Bring the arm back out as you turn onto your belly. No body should need to hold your foot for you to do the transition. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  17. Anyone have the number of jumpers moved up from the bench to the record jumps? Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  18. If your going to school in San Jose CA soon, get alittle time in the wind tunnel that is near there and learn stability and how to recover from being on your back. Then come and see me, I'll do a modified private AFF course for you and you be jumping on your own. It will cost you a hell of alot less then any drop zone around. Then when you have the skills for the wingsuit, I can train you for that also. This weekend I trained 2 guys with 10mins in the tunnel and they both have about 13 years experience as Acro and Tandem Paraglider pilots. They did my course in 4 jumps, they stood up all the landings on a 170, a both kited the parachute after landing. One even said it was slow for him. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  19. IMO, these young kids will never grow up to become "skydivers". They will never be able to stand the 20min boring ride to altitude or take on the task of packing a parachute after each jump. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  20. Done it. The hardest part is securing the harness straps before letting go, and dont let go until you do. And it's best to have a current TI when your attempting to exit with someone attached backwards. Looks rather gay too, but it's fun... Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
