bodypilot1 replied to cancina's topic in Introductions and Greets
Shows how much you get out to the dz lately. No more static line. I spoke with Colin and he's going through my private cousre in March. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com -
Paul Dont fuck up your V2 with alterations. I'll send you up another suit to try after I get back from Elsinore. And dont try comparing your perfomance with Tony, he's a freak, but in a good way.

Alot of people get on the "defensive roll' when they hear things they dont want to. You say, "Seriously, they are only tracking pants", perhaps he isnt' ready for at 79 jumps? Having to ask on the internet as to how to cure this may mean he is not getting the proper input from an experience jumper in his own DZ? Tracking pants allow alot of drive and drag on the lower end of the body during a skydive, and alot of jumpers think they should fly all the way until pull time before reaching back to pull. Treat tracking pants just like a wingsuit, do multiple practice pulls during the skydive! This way at the bottom end your very in control and NOT going headdown. This issue may have even been figured out on his first jump with them if he was briefed ahead of time on his first jump with them? Practice pulls...practise pulls and more practice pulls up high until you get it right.... Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Good point I forgot to make, Paul. Thanks This is why I never bar tack any brake lines. He should ask his rigger to finger trap and knot instead, that way he can always adjust easily. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Now why would I ever suggest not jumping? If your having to jump alone, look at the ground moving beneath you and the feel of your suit around you. Use your exit point and distance you traveled, as opposed to trying to decrease your fall rate so soon on your flights. The later will come..... To check for brake lines that may be too short, open high. With brakes unstowed and in your hands, look up at the right back edge of your canopy as you pull down on the right front riser. If the back edge of your canopy pulls down any, while your pulling your front riser down, your brake line is too short. Lengthen them about 4" and try it again. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
-
If your saying there was "barely any wind" on that landing, and you were pulling fronts, then it is most likely too short steering lines and probably best to reline the entire canopy. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Your AFFI should have debriefed you on what the cause was and noted it in your logbook. It sounds like you probably weren't sticking your legs out enough and they were uneven as well. Get video of your next AFF, it's priceless tool for a better and faster learning curve. Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
