  3. Congrats Skye! Some students forget their count and we have to get off the plane in a timely manner. Relax when you climb out and make your count like a rhythm so you and your Instructors leave the plane together. Good body movement too will help them see your count for a good clean exit. I'm sure your not the first one they have pulled off. Now have Gary get his coach rating so he can do the rest of your training jumps after your released from Instructor supervision. Be safe
  4. Tell the guy in the white briefs and the huge ass, it time to turn his shorts around for the next week! Skid marks dont fly well at a Twister game... - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

  8. What do you mean? I think alot of people on here think they can become great skydivers and know everything by asking what to do in this forum? Soon you'll hear at the DZ's not, "how many jumps do you have?" but, "how many posts do you have?" to get on a load. Too many people are afraid to ask questions "at the DZ" these days. - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  9. I guess my answer is here for this question

  13. Thats always the way I hold the toggles too, but I never let the students help me flare unless it a working tandem such as in my TAF program. After opening and doing my controlability check I will let the student usually fly the canopy with my assistance or direction until about 1000ft and then take it from there. During my earlier years of doing tandems I had the students help me flare but I have found the landing to be very inconsistant and sometimes very rough. I hear from other Instructors that its hard to flare alone. Work out alittle and build the strength to flare then is what I say. I have also heard, "you are taking away from the students experience". I say, "I like my legs, and judging from my experience, WE stand a better chance of a SAFE landing if I do it alone and just have to tell them to lift their legs." I have even had one DZO, you know, the one that does 2 or 3 tandems a YEAR, tell his Instructors he wants the Instructors to let the students help flare, and then I watch him let his students POUND him in! There is nothing thats says you have to let your students help you land, but just land them safely - - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  14. I hope so. It just sounded like alittle whining to me.... The Deuce has no one to play with kinda whine, ya know? Be safe. - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  15. Most of the time I'll do a toggle 90 if there is no traffic in the pattern. If there is I may do a stall/surge. It also depends on the wind, canopy and the students size for me to determine the best technique for a sucessful safe landing. No "one" technique is the best. The best is the one that gets you on the ground uninjured and your student thrilled with his or her skydive. I'd say about 95 percent of my landings are standup, and I do not decide that until we are just about to touchdown. If forward speed is too fast to take a few steps as we land I wont say "standup- standup", and we take the slide to be safe. Be safe. - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  16. If the Instructor did what you have explained it was VERY unprofessional on his part. Everyone teaches somethings differently and thats why USPA has made this "coach" rating. If you have taught the person according to the sylibus, then simply show the rude Instructor your dive plan. If you continue to have this happen the S&TA should step in maybe. Talk to the Instructor about it and do not do it in front of the student. Be safe. - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  17. Then pointing it is. Anyone that doesnt take the time to make sure to take out something the size of a small rabbit shouldnt be packing. Ok. I have never made that kind of mistake. Wrong. I do have control of my surroundings. If I happen to see something I do not like or think is unsafe I do not hesitate to say something. Nobody ever said any DZ was perfect, everyone has the choice to jump or not jump at any particular DZ. Yes. I have an S1 that should fit you. - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

  20. Sorry to hear that. Sometimes tissue damage and sprains take longer to heal then a brake and are more likely to happen again if you do to not wait long enough for it to heal all the way. Even a month may be too soon unfortunalty. Be safe. - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  21. Use the DZ's student gear until they say you can't. Spend your money on jumps. - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
