  1. Please let everyone know of your wingsuit organizing experience and how many wingsuit jumps you have?
  2. Tell me something I don't know..... Be safe. - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  3. I'll be there too helping Chuck and Scott with the Birdman Instructing. I'll also do a video debrief with every training jump.
  4. Skye You'll know when the spark is back. It never goes away, but is sometimes is shadowed by other things in your life that are more important to you right now. - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  5. I always suggest a diving exit. How much time will you have in the case of an emergency to get poised in the door? Either way you choose, get out in a hurry and do not take the time to get yourself set up in the doorway for your exit, as you wont be able to when you need to exit the plane in a real emergency! Another thing I suggest to my students is to practice the exits and do dummy practice pulls from a higher altitude before they hire me to watch them and sign their card off. Be safe. - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  6. The same goes for any form of skydiving unless you mix it up abit.... From 8 grand they had better be good to put something like that together for any amount of time, so the people on the ground can see it. Deployment altitude for the last man will be low to say the least. It sounds cool, but I wouldn't recommend dumping in full flight. www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  7. The leg inlet is MUCH larger then the MTR2 and stays inflated in almost every position. They are much easier to get off. I landed with one bootie on with every jump on the MTR2. Maybe I am just not limber enough, but thats the same I have heard from other people too. - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  8. Ok. Let me maybe rephrase that to out float? The video I have seen was shot in South Africa by Timmy, the name of the place I can not remember. He was jumping his Classic and he is 6ft and 145lbs. Jewels was jumping the SG and another guy was on a GTI. Tim jumped first, flew his suit through the gorge and clearing another talus that isn't usually done without a wingsuit. After pulling he flew his canopy straight down the gorge and landed in the deep brush. The 2nd jumper was Jewels in the SG. He not only flew past Tims deployment spot, but continued to fly the suit all the wat until the spot Tim landed his canopy and then opened. The forward speed was NOT that great, so I'd say it floated. The 3rd guy never even came close to them. Seriously, I could give a shit about float or fly and don't care to get into a debate. I love to fly my S3 or flock with friends and teach people how to fly wingsuits, not tell them which one is better or which one to buy.
  9. I have jumped with Eric in a Sugar Glider suit in Lodi. He was using Tim Hutchings suit to see whether he wanted to order an S3 or the Sugar Glider. He just recieved that suit of his the day before heading to the Herc Boogie! The suit has a TON of hang time comapared to the S3 is what we have found. Tim and Eric are both about 6ft and 145lbs keep in mind. The SG and the MTR2 are of similar design. The MRT2 is made of neopreme and the SG is made of ALL ZP. The arm wing as you can see is WAY bigger than the MTR2 and is easy to pull with. The SG doesnt come with the BASE PC pocket though. The single zipper is a BITCH too. The SG hooks to your rig just the way a MTR2 does also. The SG doesnt have any baffles in the arems or legs, so jumping with it feels as though you are literaly in a garbage bag. Tim has maintained a slow speed of 35mph and is close to making canopy dock while the canopy is in a slow turn. The suits forward speed is very slow and they have a hard time making the suit fall faster to do flocking dives with any other type of suit. Perhaps the ONLY other suits it will be able to flock with are other Sugar Gliders? As far as BASE with it, I have seen video of it clearly out fly any other suit, but then again, Jewels was the jumper. I am sure Eric likes the fact that the Herc is a tailgate too, as he was too close to the door on his 1st jump in a Sugar Glider suit in the Beech 99 and somehow managed to get an arm in the airstream, he then had the suit inflate and pull him out the door about 1 mile before jump run. Tell Eric Ed from Lodi said I think his suit turned out great. www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  10. I wrote about 1 more check out of my checkbook for the rest of the 6 jumps. Thats all I wrote.... - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  11. Yes. Tell Joe I said you get free jumps! Congrats and be safe. - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  12. Just reading some of the replies, I see that a few people have been in similar situations during flocking dives that have came close to what I was involved in. Yes, complete briefings from your flight pattern, to your opening altitudes are very much needed during flocking dive, even with something as small as a 2 way! I normally do this, and teach this, but unfortunatly we may have became abit complacent on this jump and didn't, maybe because we have jumped so may times together.....but this time "shit happened", and we'll all try our best to try and make sure it doesn't happen again. Thanks for everyones concern.
  13. After being T boned by another friend in a wingsuit during a simple 3 way flocking dive this weekend, I just thought I'd write this simple reminder to you flockers as I sit here with bruised ribs, lung, liver and right leg from the hip to the ankle. The incident happened after we had exited from a Beech 99 at 13000ft. I was doing a simple 3 way with 2 friends that I had did many flocking dives before, so there really wasn't any talk about the pattern because we all knew what it was, or thought we knew what it should have been... After alittle separation upon exit we came together and were flying relatively close with about 25ft of vertical and horizontal separation between the 3 of us. I was in the middle and made a move to my left passing just under my friend and stopping about 20 ft away to fly a parallel pattern up the line of flight, thus leaving him in the middle. As I looked down to see where we where, and saw that we were at 8000ft , I was going to get ready to do our slow left turn to head around back to the DZ. As I glanced back to my right I just caught a glimpse of my friend, that was on the far right outside and was about 70ft from me, hit me head first in the ribs and legs. His head was down and not looking in the direction he was flying, but looking back under his wing as he passed under the guy in the middle. The impact instantly knocked the breath out of me and sent both of us into a out of controlled spin. It felt as though my guts had exploded and I knew I had to get something out before going unconscious, so I looked to see I was belly to earth and pulled my main. My vision blurred but I stayed conscious and evaluated the best way to get down safely. It took me until about 2000ft to get my breath back and I landed safely. He got out of the spin, flew to 3000ft and pulled his main. He explained after I landed that he never saw me as he went under our friend in the middle...... Luckily he only has a stiff neck and now possibly thinking of getting a Cypres..... So, to stop this from happening again. PLEASE KNOW WHERE ALL YOUR OTHER FLOCKERS ARE BEFORE DOING A HARD CARVING TURN. TALK ABOUT YOUR PATTERN BEFORE EVERY JUMP AND FLY THE PATTERN. If you dont see all the flockers on the jump and you want to change your flight pattern, do a nice slow turn and watch where you are going. Wingsuits have a tremendous forward speed and looking down or behind doesn't do anygood for the person that may be in front of you. If anyone would like to add some pointers to remember while flocking please do so. Be safer! www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  14. Hey Kevin Whats the link to the RB website? I didn't make it to the party that night, but I hear they were looking for me with the bottle of tequilla. And like I told you, your the only person I have ever heard whistling Black Sabbaths "Iron Man", but it figures with the lyrics from a BOC song as your signature. "Seasons don't fear the Reaper, nor do the Wind, the Sun, or the Rain... " Hopefully we'll get to do some wingsuit jumps together sometime... - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  15. Some work circling of the LZ in Photo Shop would be a suggestion for you photos too? Here in The Parachute Center in Lodi California. $13 to 13000ft = Beech 99 or Otter - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  16. This is kinda harsh too. He may have made the mistake of climbing down and adding possible further injury, but I dont think it was to go as far as saying it was "stupid". Maybe he did not know of the great procedure the local fire department had? - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  17. ITS A DEAL! And I will hold the wine you want to give to Kris too as long as it's anything red...... - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  18. Sorry to hear that Jeff. Some people just dont have the smarts to know they cant afford to jump when they have a family that needs other priorities, and it's good you have made the choice to have them come first. Selling your gear is no big deal, I can find you something safe to jump if you give me some heads up when your thinking of coming out, and if your uncurrent I'd be glad to jump with you to make sure your still safe.
  19. ***My mother always told me I was living on borrowed time..... I'd just like to thank the guy I have been borrowing it from all these years? - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  20. My point was, on big ways with multiple airplanes sometimes you have to deal with things not going always as planned and maybe not always done the correct way according to the FAR's, and sometimes there is a communication break down. It has always been and always be just something you have to deal with, or dont jump on big ways.... Whether you want to exit or not, and if you choose to stay in the plane because you didnt feel safe is your choice..... - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
  21. Unfortunatly the problems with your planes oxygen came when we had cloud cover limiting sight of the DZ. Aborting the 5 planes we already had at altitude would have been costly for sure, but just remember, YOU have the choice of jumping from that plane and no one else so you can't place blame on the pilot. Doing big ways from high altitudes are part of doing big ways, plain and simple. Sometimes the oxygen isn't the best for everyone on board, but thats what you deal with and try to make everyone happy and safe. T shirts on the outside of jump suits are not something we like to jump with and MUST be kept away from your pilot chute for a clean pull after break off. Being it was your first "big way" and you were struggling with the fall rate, maybe a bigger suit would be needed? Yes, dressing for success is the right attitude on bigways, whether your in the base or on the outside of the formation docking 105th, but be safe doing it and don't get out of the plane if you feel your NOT at 100% of your ability. It not only endangers you, but it puts the other jumpers at risk too. Glad to hear you made it out ok. Now go buy the beer. - www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
