  1. The heel cup is fitted to your heel size since the exact specs are taken from your individual trainer/shoe you use when Jii Wings take your measurements. As for staying on I have had no problems with the GS1 heel staying fits like a glove on my suit, amiditt=edly I only have about 30 jumps on this suit but no problems with it coming off. As for overall flight feel, yes its super floaty and the forward speed is lower though I have sipped in my new wing and that should produce greater foward drive, will hopefully see this weekend. As for arms I did not find the suit anymore tiring than anything else on the market about the same as my V1. I can average 40mph for the dive without going ballistic from 14,000ft and turning is veery different, requires very very little input otherwise spitfire like dives can be readily achieved! gret fun but not very efficient. Would be interested to know hoe others find the suit as they gain more experience. For now I like both my V1 and GS1 still exploring the range on both suits, the V1 gives me great lift and awesome distance the GS1 super float and slow flights. Both fun, both able to produce very slow fall rate but 2 very different beasts. I still enjoy taking my skyflyer out just need more rigs and more decent weather to fly them all! 2. Hmmmm......isnt tourism wonderful http://www.snopes.com/photos/architecture/skywalk.asp Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  3. Very nice, looks like pretty good distance on your flight, no canopy traffic!, I take it you went into the boat on that one. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  4. 5 minutes might be good for lower altitude, but if you get any kind of delay at altitude, which can happen or your waiting for other jumpers to get out, you may chew into that 5 minutes and find yourself short on O2. For normal freefall with a faster fall rate you should be fine if your 2 minute call is spoy on and you have another 3 mins. But with the wingsuits personally i would not want to be mid flight and sucking on empty. You have quite enough to think about without trying to remove your mask or break seal in freefall with a wingsuit on. Cheers Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  5. I fitted the bottle inside the rig and down my left leg which was pretty comfortable off the left lateral, Andy was set up as you said as there was not enough room inside on his suit. And yes blowing out past my right eye on exhalation did suck, at least the O2 did not freeze up
  6. The equipment we used was identical, as for o2 it was aviation and 99.99% dry hence rough throat feeling afterwards. As for the moisture the jump master and HALO expert Tad Smith had said this was a possibility, the freezing happened to all of us using the wingsuit so attitude might have been an issue. However the o2 feed worked just the exhalation valve was a nause. Temp was -28C before windchill and holding position even after lots of prep and static strength excersize etc was hard. However a great experience and a big thank you to Airtec for the loan of Mil Cypres for the jump and Jii Wings for the GS1, Andy for all the filming and Skydance for arranging the HALO jumps. More to follow when we have all data and footage developed etc. Cheers Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  7. Bloody hell Fordy you beat me home, and you trip was no doubt a lot easier As for time and data, we have to load some new maps to the GPS and analyse the data this week to get all the specifics before we know exact time and distance, lets just say it was long and very very cold. Thanks for the filmwork Andy. Cheers Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  8. Just returned from flying the GS1, apart from messing about setting it up, zippers etc etc did I mention zippers;) It fits like a glove, beautifully made and easy to get into the aircraft with booties on and sit on seat with leg either side. Flight, very quick inflation a little skaty on first flight, the size of the wing is such that any input, thigh, shoulder, arm leg anything will change your flight posistion and initiate a turn, this is not a beginners suits as recognized by Jii-wings. However first flight was 48mph TAS with some fun turns taking me up to the 60mph speed ( from Jumptrack), low speed were 40-42mph for 30 secs plus before other turns and just playing around. The suit flies beautifully but is going to take a few jumps to dial in, I get similiar speeds on my V1 but its a very different beast forward speed was not there straight away, however with only 2 jumps there are a lot of areas to play with. Overall great detail, build quality and performance and I look forward to exploring its flight even more. No sexy pics I'm afraid the S3 that came out with me flew straight down from my perspective, but I did bang it on out the door pretty quick ;) Cheers Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  9. Ed, Would love to get over to LOdi, but we are Davis specifically for some 30K jumps otherwise would love to get over and flock with you guys. Thanks for the info though. Cheers Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  10. Thanks we now are sorted, thanks for all info help. Cheers Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  11. Thanks again will check all that out. Cheers Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  12. Yes September 19 - Oct 01, might get over to Byron at some point after the HALO jumps. Cheers Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  13. Thanks Tom for the info, will try some of those avenues, already tried localish towns and they all seem pretty busy. Thanks again, too bad your not still a landlord there! Cheers Fraser
  14. Heading out to DAVIS for some HALO jumps at Skydance from 19 september to October 01 and it seems impossible to find a house or apartment to rent, we have a team of 3 and only need a place for 12 nights, quite happy to pay a reasonable amount up to $1500 total as long its not a dive. Anyone now of anything in the area or have any contacts out there, have spoken to the DZ but they have come up dry on this one. Thanks for any info Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  15. Anyone any thoughts on a lightweight very small GPS unit (mobile phone type size.) any info appreciated. Time to get some data and need a good unit that does not crap out with cold generally reliable etc etc Thanks Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  16. See you there mate. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  17. Maybe soon, without the motors..... Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  18. Tom, My thoughts entirely, and for all the legislation guys see www.faa.gov Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  19. Do you know how much Helium you would need? A lot, so either a masive wing or a tougher non bleeding wing that took take very high pressure, a pilot happy for you to ride to altitude with him and your wings or cannister. As for raising a patent and covering the market if you apply for a patent you need to demonstrate originality in design. This is done through a prior art search, in the case of a wingsuit you would find a lot of prior art so proving your originality might be difficult to say the least. You can patent specific features however as James and several others have said its very exoensive and unless you have the next water fuelled jet engine not a path most wood take. Cheers F Meanwhile my patent is going well for my lighter than air fligh suit Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  20. What a sad post, as a moderator I am surprised your posting this since without doubt it will cause disharmony. I couldnt care less which suit I am jumping all the people making them I have been great people, and if it enables me to enjoy the evolution and progression of human flight all the better. Why should you really care what the market share is? Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  21. If you want the visuals for a landing like this you could just go hangliding or microlighting. Dont get me wrong any stunt like this is great for exposure of the sport and I wish Jeb all the best for his attempt, I just dont see this as accessible to all skydivers, however if they could build 2 2000ft towers that would be very nice ;) Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  22. Sorry but call me old school but if this is costing $6M its a little out of the average wingsuit pilots league ;) For that much money I hope you can take off too and hover and take a decent payload to altitude;) Good luck with the stunt Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  23. The reason some of us yawn, is this has been discussed to death, with this that and the other gadget. When someone can land without any giant airbags, landing gear etc etc and walk away from it in one piece, then I'll be interested, otherwise its just a stunt, be even more impressed when they can take off;) Dont just talk about it, Do it!
