  1. Good Stuff! Just had my key hole surgery on my ACL they removed a balled up piece the size of a marble, so I can now lock my leg out properly and fly again. They even gave me a 20 min DVD of the surgery which was weird but hehe at least i know they did something! So 2 more months buidlign back to full strength and then hopefully a great summer of flights. Cheers Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  2. Godd effort, before i spent my time being pissed off with waiting key hole surgery, I used to skydive and also used to do lots of wingsuit and tracking suit jumps. working my butt off would get me average 74mph TAS. Best way to train i found was jumping with fat wingsuit pilots or kind ones who like watching you work you nuts off while they cruise lazily along grinning at you trying to match them. Cheers Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  3. Quote Pretty useless though, concidering my whole body-postion there and the speed at which the jump was going down..holding grippers doesnt make a lot of sense (max-performance wise..but I tend to use them like flaps/breaks on an airplane-wing..) reply] Just a thought, dont drop one whilst using them as airbrakes as it may put you into linetwists rapidly. I take it this is during deployment, each to there own but i prefer to be unzipping getting ready for anything funky and getting on the rear risers for control or aviodance in those few secs. 4. 700 wingsuit jumos and about 200 on a S1, average once dialled in was 48mph lows 42-44, pretty cosistent speed if you make nice flat turns without too much bank and remember to really work the arms and drop the knees very slightly. Great suit lots of fun, now fly GS1 and V1, too many toys so little time. Especially since tearing my cartiledge :( currently awaiting key hole surgery before returning in April. Cheers Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  5. James good flying, was hpoing to join you this summer fo all sorts of fun, but jarred knee on a landing, wasnt even a bloody swoop and am out till next season post some removal of calcification on knee. Nice flying though, good job we are not having a kick ass summer here in the UK DOH! Take care Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  6. Zeemax is on the money, good luck with sponsorship, but trying to get it when you have 185 jumps is a bit tight for wingsuit based sponsorship, and having the cheek to ask for others pics to motivate your sponsors is f*cking cheeky. Yes sponsorship helps, but do it on your own merits not someone elses. Cheers F Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  7. Dont jump a high performance canopy, your going to get twists occasionally. Glad you had fun on the jumps, at the end of the day collapse everything, deploy symmetrically use weight shift, but the canopy is stil going to react and it can put a couple of twists in while your unzipping if their is any directional input or asymetry riser loading. I use to get twists when my feet and knees where not straight and slightly open sufficient burble to turn on deployment as the bag goes up. Have not had any for awhile, but they happen. cheers F Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  8. See you there. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  9. I was going to be jumping with Tanya and Craig, but they dont seem to be available, as I have not heard anything back so I shall be mainly training with Scott smith. Cant wait to get out and gets some jumps whether board, wing or just plain old body! Cheers Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  10. I shall be out in Perris from 16th-30th, I am out to learn to skysurf however I shall have my V1 with me a GS1 and a PF tracking jacket and pants, so anyone in the area want to come and play or introduce me to the local flock would be cool. It snowed today so I hope you guys have some sun!
  11. If it aint broke dont fix it, whats the reason behind your request, sprung loaded pc on a leg would be a pain in the butt to mount, fly with and overcomplicate an already working system. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  12. Gus, I have made about 40 GS1 jumps now and this suit is a very different beast, after 500 + wingsuit jumps on Classic II Skyflyer and V1 the first jumps on the GS1 where pretty funky. Very small inputs are required to fly the suit, I was useda s others have mentioned greater freedom of movement and when you dip a shoulder you can really dive out of the sky its great fun but not a starter suit. Once dialled in it was easy fly even with HALOgear and additional crap to worry about but I would not jump this as a first suit. As for overall safety checks when putting on the suit be carefull that the teflon cables arent pulled out of sequences as this can undo the arm wing just need to be careful, also make sure the zippers have had the bottom mod, if its a new GS1 they will have. Basically its a stopper created by a tab of fabric over the zip, mine did not have them and it was a pain realgning the cottom zips all the time. Fortunately I always carry a Fordy a handy red and yellow bit of kit that can do rigging anywhere If you have any other enquiries give us a shout, its a very different beast, if your jumping with him, hold back on your forward speed the GS1 is floaty as hell and the forward speed as not as high as the V1 S3 etc Cheers Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  13. I am out in Perris to learn to skysurf but it would be rude not to bring my wingsuits and get some flights with the local flock See you in a month Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  14. Vector Boy, If your in Perris over 16th -30th March I shall have my GS1 and V1 with me so if you would, like to check it out in more detail in the air I'll see you in a month ;) Cheers Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  15. I used a new design myself recently with both V1 and GS1 I'll dig out the pics, the desing is verey simple and would cost about £5 in materials and was fine for both suits, no stains heat issues and I used 2 smoke taped together in the bracket. Will post pics shortly. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  16. Their are changes afoot on the leg wing, I am sure Maria and Cate will get back to you soon. As said previously if your experiencing serious flapping unzip and fly with the original configuration, you can still get very low speeds. Cheers F Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  17. Just one general point not aimed at anbody, but does a tandem student need to be hooked in? Is the freefall and ride not enough. I love to swoop but would not do so with someone, what if they decide to freak half through, shift in harness or helpfully grapp your arm, a riser, brake line etc etc Is it really necessary when they just had the ride of their life to risk theirs and yours, Of course a lot of tandem masters probably need to swoop to maintain currency on swooping since they dont do enough sport jumps anymore Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  18. Highly unlikely as Skymoney said limited payload, navigating at night from under canopy fine, on a wingsuit possible but tedious and insufficient glide path relative to the existing methods. And if they were would they be posting details on the web? I think not. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  19. I fly a Skyflyer, a V1 and a GS1, all different beasts all lots of fun, you can play with different parameters in all of them, distance, slow vertical, different turns back flying etc etc. As with any difference in wing deigns all have slight pro's and cons over each other. You trade of one area to ebnefit another, all are getting closer to an optimum wing, but what is an optimum wing, for me its being able to fly slow vertical and get max distance, so its glide path and descent rate but I could just go for super slow and obsess over freefall time. Or then again super glide with faster fall rate. Its all fun and its all moving forward very fast, the main thing is to enjoy all the advancements and not simply leap onto the latest and greatest so many people are not flying their wings to the limit because they start with the most extreme. We are following a pretty similar path to canopy evolution. Try them and see what works for you, and yes the wrist to ankle design works and yes its slow I can average 38mph for the flight, but my glide path is not near my V1, so its all relative to what your looking for. Cheers Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  20. Quote " On a planned buzz, i have gotten within 20' of a freind, and seen a head to head get within about 10', and it was sick. (2.5/1 canoy, and wingsuit. read:closing speed, 200mph) both parties knew what was up and knew the risks. " Your closing speed is BS, the two parties maybe aware of the risks but I doubt the DZO would be thrilled to know you were doing head to heads. As for getting away with it, watch the golden nights track diamond film and then you might appreciate the risks a little more. If you dont check with the jumper whether they are a tandem master or otherwise how do you know when they are going to turn? I enjoy occasional buzzes but if I was under canopy would not want to have to be watching for a wingsuiter coming in unexpected to me so i can understand why people get pissed off. It'll only take 1 screw up and we'll find more load seperation, ask before you buzz. Its also easy to mistake canopy colours on big loads so you think your heading for your buddy and your not. 21. Recently made 10 smoke jumps back to back with no issues of dye to the wingsuit, so not sure what kind of brackets your using, the smoke usually runs out after 1 minute so theirs none left to dye suit/canopy etc. Cheers F Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  22. 'the new wing' would be the tail-add-on? Quite curious what that does for the speed... As am I, once the damn rain stops hopefully we'll find out
  23. Will let you know once the new wing is in, but the weather is pretty miserabke at the moment over here. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  24. Enter bag o' dog food, stage right. It takes serious kibbles to test gear. -C. I think you'll find if you refer to the original .jpg that orange man is already the test jumper for this mission. Unfortunately bag of dog food is on a tour giving seminars on safety with the kitten so unavailable. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
  25. Keep going put on landing gear and we'll have an aircraft...... Dont just talk about it, Do it!
