    Deug used a windtunnel for a lot of testing, pics can be found on the paramag archives, I am sure Craig could locate!!:) As for flying in a vertical windtunnel unless its damn big I would speculate it would be very dangerous bar having marshmallow walls!     You will also be dealing with -40-50C temps, some decent navigation, maintaining awareness for hypoxia and very tired arms. Uncle Charlie made one and did over 4 mins I think, but he should he's a good flyer a skinny b*gger like me :) Dont just talk about it, Do it!

    If there are any purist die hard BASE jumpers out there, they should of course appreciate that BASE evolved from Skydiving and if you go back far enough the first parachutes were tested from fixed objects, leslie irvins first round was jumped from a bridge in the London, not freefall but there you go so any elitism is irrelevant we all learn from each others disciplines and sports.     have to agree with you, if you want to fly with rigid wings its called a plane. The practicality of people with folded composite wings jumping is just crazy. So yuo ant to take off with your jet pack cool but for what a 4 min very expensive flight where you only need a partial engine failure structural failure to put you in trouble. I like to rely on gravity and nylon, whilst its great people are pushing these areas, I am more impressed by the evolution of the gravity powered fabric wingsuit over the solid, powered rocketman! Cool pics though. Dont just talk about it, Do it!

    2:57 with Classic II from 15k to 3k, time from video. Slowest speed sustained speed 42mph no neptune yet so dont know how long flight was for. Slowest ever 38 mph all with Skyflyer. 6ft 170lbs with 400 ws flights. Exit weight 200lbs Going for distance going for speed! They come together. Dont just talk about it, Do it!

    Ask you rigger to knock some together, used a normal bracket for a smoke jumo and no prblem other than slight buffeting in maxed out position as smoke 90 to leg to keep canister top away from leg. Dont just talk about it, Do it!

I am sitting back in grey england feeling extremley pissed, I came down with some kind of virus flu thing on Thursday and had to cancel my flight since I was pretty ill and am only up and about today tuesday so not very amused, but this kind os sh*t happens once in a while just sucks that it came at boogie time.     This guy's a freak. The 45,000 skydive figure is questionable, as are many of his claims. Though, that isn't to say that DD hasn't done some cool shit. Don Kellnor had over 29,000 in 1996 and he was bearing 60 and jumped everyday and held the record number of jumps so unless this guy dies hop n pops for aliving 45000 is a just a little dubious. I lookforward to seeing his planned landing which was supposed to be last year oh and the year before that i wonder if the weather will be ok this year? Dont just talk about it, Do it!

    There is supposed to be a dropzone near El Gouna which should have opened from Jnauary this year, try www.elgouna.com and check activities, you fly to Hurgadha then travel about 30 mins north up the coast. Cheers Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!

    Straight line flying across Lake taupo NZ I have made 2:57 on video in a Classic II I am 6 ft and weigh 12 stone, this dive was from 14,000ft to 3,500ft going for distance e.g. glide not speed, get the glide right and the times will come. Dont just talk about it, Do it!

    The style of flying ie body position is far more important than anything else, you can have the Skyflyer and be outflown by a Classic if you dont know how to shape your body to the optimum and the classic pilot does. There are so many variables probably over 30 which to understand in a formulae would be impractical and not much value, set a goal for your flight, whether that be control, speed or distance or a combination and then work to it. Dont just talk about it, Do it!

    How have people found the S3 to the Skyflyer in stepping up in performance, work on arms etc, I hold my wingtip maxed out for the whole flight but do get tired after 4-5 of these jump back to back. I have heard a lot of people saying its hard from GTi Classic to S3 but any views from skyflyer to S3? Thanks for any info. Fraser Dont just talk about it, Do it!

    The longest I have flown to date is 2 min 57 on my classic 2 over lake taupo about 150 jumps then, straight line out and then 180 turn and back to the dz, pulled at 4k and got out at 15K, 2001 did not have a neptune, so got time from my video. With my skyflyer have been working on distance and I am awaiting my S3. Dont just talk about it, Do it!
