  1. Oh, Ben...I just don't think we can hide it any longer! HEHE Merrick's SCR Ceremony
  2. I doubt it since 'they' is just 'he' and he just moved it to a new server I believe. Also, he is the one who has been paying for it all out of the kindness of his heart, so I'm grateful to get whatever he is willing to provide. Pammi Merrick's SCR Ceremony
  3. I don't know about letting a two-year-old go. Imagine how excited they get over a butterfly or some such...skydiving is very intense even for adults, I can't imagine how intense it'd be to such a small child. On one hand, some kids seem to be fearless, on the other hand, how do you know if that's true for this kid, for instance, since he's only two? Perhaps he very much does NOT want to skydive, not all people do as we all know...he should be given the opportunity to choose which he wasn't old enough to do. I've told my kids it's entirely up to them. They both want to, but I won't force them and I won't feel bad if they simply aren't interested. They don't have to do it just because their parents do. I'm actually wondering if they will still want to once they get up there and try it once, or if they will decide it's not their cup-of-tea. A lot of people 'want' to skydive, but actually doing it is another matter and you can't really know what it's like despite all of the descriptions until you try it. Pammi Merrick's SCR Ceremony
  4. How funny! What a pretty dog too! We have a Rott/Great Dane mix that won't let Merrick and I play! We start messing around, play hitting each other and such, and he gets upset with it! He'll stand between us and put his mouth around whomever's arm is doing the hitting, not biting down, but growling a warning :) Then my other dog, a Cocker/Chow mix is my best guess, will get mad at the Rott/Dane (Judge) and start biting at him for biting us! It's quite a mess, but I would hate to see someone REALLY try to hurt one of the family! (BTW, they are locked out of the bedroom during 'intimate moments'. You can imagine how upset they get thinking someone is getting hurt! LOL!) Pammi Our webpage

Wow is right!!! That is so cool!!! I'm all pumped up and ready to go now...hurry up weekend! I just love these kinds of stories :)) Our webpage
  7. Okay, just a minor little bitching here, but good grief! It's 106 degrees out, feels like 114 with the humidity! I'm sorry, but I'd much rather jump with it actually snowing in the plane like we did in March then roast my a** off in this temp! Dripping with sweat as you pack your canopy sure doesn't help get it in the bag

    Sabre2

Cool! I'm anxious to see how they do. I happen to love my Sabre and will have her for a while since she's a perfect size for me, but I'd like to see what happens with the Sabre2's for the future :) Our webpage
  9. Here is just my opinion on them: It seems like equipment preferences run a certain way at different DZ's. For instance, ours is predominately Mirage's and Sabre's. I, personally, had a Dolphin and now have a Mirage. My Dolphin was just fine for me. The leg straps were a little less comfortable then the Mirage, but the entire rig was used and a little big for me. The pin protection isn't as good, and it's said that they are not 'freefly-friendly', but I've also heard the new Dolphin's are just fine as they have the new tuck-tab riser covers. Overall, Dolphin was a fine rig for me, especially just off student status. It isn't the quality that my Mirage is, but it also isn't as expensive as the Mirage. Part of my love of my new Mirage, too, is that it was specifically made for someone exactly my size, even though I also bought it used, so it fits me very well. However, it also is an older one with velcro rather then tuck-tab riser covers so isn't considered freefly friendly either, so...*shrug* It's all opinion. I haven't heard of any real safety issues with them, but you can double-check their site. I know they were going to reinforce the reserve flap because of the plastic that's in it poking through on some of the Dolphins, but that was the only thing I've heard needed fixed on older ones. 10. We'll be there during that time...we'll have to come check it out! Pammi Our webpage
  11. Ah, now you don't have to lie about the threesome's we are into. Geez, you and Merrick end up making feel left out the way you guys go on and on with each other. Sheesh, share him once in a while! Our webpage
  12. "I'd like to thank all of the people who made this honor possible..." *sniff* *sniff* Woohoo! Thanks HH! "Hi, my name is Pam. I'm addicted to posting useless information and opinions on this forum." I'll begin the 12-steps for this right after I give up beer :) (Shhh...you're not supposed to tell about us cybering in MSN Skreamer!) Our webpage
  13. Yeah, I actually heard to use a piece of the gingerroot also that was there...it was odd tasting, but not bad...didn't know I was supposed to add it to the sushi tho. LOL! Our webpage
  14. Fish eggs?! EW! I knew that's what they were! I think it was as much the thought as the food itself...plus it was slimy :/ I told you that's what they were Merrick! ICK! I didn't try the wasabi cuz I thought it was avocado stuff and I don't like avocado's much...darn. Will have to try it again with California Roll next time I was told...a newbie's sushi. And plum wine sounds good...will try that too :) It was funny...I wanted to try the stuff so badly, but then it was Merrick who loved it. Go figure! LOL Our webpage
  15. Welcome Kimmer! Good luck with your training and feel free to vent/brag/whatever to us! Have fun this weekend! Our webpage
  16. The subject of a spider being able to 'fly' with a piece of his web came up in the other thread, so curious, I started looking around on the web a little. Here's something interesting I found :) Spider Balloons (SFX: the end of Charlotte's Web: spiders leaving) AT THE END OF CHARLOTTE'S WEB, BY EB WHITE, A PACK OF BABY SPIDERS TRAVEL OFF INTO THE WORLD. Suter: "The spider Charlotte has had her kids and the kids go out to the top of a fence post and they put a little bit of silk out of their rear end, the silk goes off still attached tot eh spider and pulls up into the air a little bit, pretty soon, the spider lets go of the top of the fence post and drifts off into the breeze, being pulled along by this little strand of silk. That's called ballooning" ROBERT SUTER IS A BIOLOGIST AT VASSAR COLLEGE WHO'S STUDIED THIS PHENOMENON. IT ONLY WORKS FOR VERY SMALL SPIDERS, BUT ALMOST ALL BABY SPIDERS MAKE USE OF THE TECHNIQUE TO SPREAD OUT INTO NEW TERRITORY AFTER THEY'RE BORN. IT'S A LOT LIKE PARACHUTING--EXCEPT INSTEAD OF A CHUTE IT'S MORE LIKE DRAGGING A ROPE. Suter: "You could actually slow yourself down by having a long rope behind you, but it wouldn't slow you down enough and you'd crash into the ground pretty hard." BUT THAT'S THE ADVANTAGE OF BEING SMALL--THE SPIDER WEIGHS SO LITTLE THAT THE AIR FRICTION FROM EVEN THE LITTLE BIT OF STRING CAN KEEP THE SPIDER ALOFT. SUTER PUT SOME SPIDERS INTO A WIND TUNNEL TO EXAMINE THE FLOATING SPIDERS MORE CLOSELY. HE FOUND THAT THE SPIDERS CONTROL THE DIRECTION IN WHICH IT MOVES. Suter: "If you're that small, the position of your legs and the position of your body. . .makes a different in terms of how much wind resistance you have. So these spiders can do some controlling. If they want to go up faster, they can spread their legs out, and if they want to go up more slowly they can bunch their legs to themselves. . . They can spin around, they can do all kinds of things." WHICH MEANS SPIDERS ARE DOING THINGS A LOT LIKE WHAT WE SEE EXPERIENCED PARACHUTISTS DO. Suter:"I don't think spiders actually do this recreationally." Our webpage
  17. HAHA! The spider did a hop n' pop! Cool! Then again, 2000' for a spider is probably more like a HALO jump Our webpage
  18. Yummy!! As for Wasabi...I'm sorry, but I lost my sushi virginity last weekend and I have to say.....BLECH! Saki (spelling?) tastes like gasoline too :/ I'll stick to burgers and beer! Our webpage
  19. Bwahaha! Oh wait...I hope to learn how to do that eventually...no, wait again....I already do that, although not on purpose! HAHA! NO BLUE SKIES IN SW KANSAS!! My girl was shipped off to be fixed so we're doing 'relative work' up there this weekend. Blue skies would be pure torture! Two weekends in a row with no jumping! ARGH! I'm going to be a royal bit** next week...oh wait...I always am! Bwahaha! Blue ones for you tho! Pammi Our webpage
  20. Haven't gotten mine done yet...was supposed to a few weeks ago, but didn't work out. I'm definately nervous about it too. If it were a pool, I might be a little more okay with it, but getting into murky lake water then throwing a canopy over my head when I have this silly irrational fear of deep/unclear water anyway is not a pleasant thought!! Congrats getting thru it! Pammi Our webpage
  21. Try taking Vitamin C and Zinc (separate pills, not the 'all-in-one' stuff so you make sure you get enough). It's not a cure all, but will definately speed up your getting rid of it. If you catch it quick enough, you could be feeling better within a couple of days. It usually works for me anyway....Good luck! 22. Has anyone here been to Thailand? I'd be interested to hear if it's really as frightening as that one movie with Claire Daines where here and her friend are locked up as heroine smugglers (a set-up). I can't remember the title of the movie tho... Our webpage
  23. Hmmm..sounds suspicious. He spends a lot of time defending his ability to find someone else from there and pay them less and how it would almost be an 'honor' to come work for him. Plus not saying who he is is a little scary. What do I know though...just get a creepy feeling about it and I'm the type who actually can't wait to have such adventures when my kids are grown. *shrug* You might consider it a good investment to ask to go there and see the country and business before a final decision is made. 24. Hey Cyber...it's not possible that he might've done it on purpose is it? That's an even scarier thought...that he might've just wanted to jump it! Our webpage
  25. Um..nice jumpsuit Ben...hehe Loved the vid guys! Our webpage
