Out of curiousity...I was wondering how many of you have met others from this forum, and if so, how many people? I've really gotten a kick out of getting to meet some of you in person after talking to you here for so long, and hope to meet more at Quincy. So... (this refers to people you actually spoke with on here and met specifically to meet the 'real person') How many DZ.com'ers have you met so far? 1-3 4-6 7-9 10 or more Are you nuts?!? I'd never meet someone from online, much less a freaky DZ.com skydiver! Merrick's SCR Ceremony

Oh! Now you're in my specialty! I love coloring! Well, I have to agree with Clay..would need to see a pic to really choose. Also depends on your job how wild you can be. I have considered getting that bright red color they have out now myself. I've been pretty much every color of the rainbow at some point in time...I get bored :) My next color is pink...wonder what that means? Something between a redhead and blonde I guess...men prefer having affairs with pink-heads? :) It's just temp tho..highlighting my blonde with it. As a word of warning, yes, blonde is a pain in the ass sometimes, but I don't mind the $7-$9 bucks once-a-month or so and 20 mins out of my time. It's not too bad when you do it yourself. If you go darker and decide to go back, it's MUCH harder! Also, go one or two steps lighter then the dark color you want cuz it always ends up darker then you anticipate. I once died my dark-brown, it was WAY dark-brown, then I tried to get it back blonde, it turned orange and I had to do it AGAIN! Can you say...fried?! LOL! Merrick's SCR Ceremony

That's so cute Bluestar! It sounds like our two kids. Our girl is 9 and is just itching to do a tandem. She saw a boy do one a couple of weekends ago who was 12 and kept saying "not fair!!" She just isn't big enough to fit in the harness yet, which is really my only requirement and the DZ's for her to go. She also wants to pack for money when she gets older, and I have pics of her and her brother learning how to pack from friends at the DZ :) They both know emergency procedures..it's funny to watch our 5 year old son tell his friends about line twists, how you kick out of them, but cut and pull if you can't! We also practice arching in the pool... I could go on and on..but DZ kids are the best :) They are getting to see a part of life and meet people from all walks, even if they decide not to jump themselves (which I leave entirely up to them). I've said the same thing to Merrick...the idea of him getting another sportbike is a little scary, but jumping is fine :) I certainly hope my kids don't want to do motorcross like he did either...I've seen the way every joint in his body pops from it, even his chest! Good luck to you Duck! I imagine it's got to be frightening for you, but it will go wonderfully and you'll get down smiling from ear-to-ear. Yeah, just the tail end...but wanted to be there for our first anniversary the 12th :) Perhaps with my soon to be unemployed status, I will 'be sick' and leave a day early! We will be camping! ARGH! I kept hearing about some of you guys and you getting laid off. I felt pity for you and your plight as fellow skydivers with no income for jumps, beer and other necessities of life. Then today, right as I'm getting ready to leave work of course, I'm given my walking papers for the first time ever in my life. I have two-three weeks to find other employment. YOU DIDN'T TELL ME THE LAYOFFS WERE CATCHING! Sigh. Seriously. I got canned today..actually...someone else got layed off, and since they've classified me as a 'permanent temp' (been with the company a year and a half), the layed off folks get a crack at my job. Sucks right before Quincy, but oh well, screw em. I already said I was going if I have to sell my, er, Merrick's body to do it! I'm going to be voted the employee with the most attitude before the two weeks are out, I guarantee! You just THINK I was an addict on here before! Mhahahaha! Just see what happens when you hold off telling me until I get your metrics up, thereby securing your contract with the company, THEN tell me I'm outta here! All hail the unemployed skydiver! My Mirage is supposed to be back before we go to Quincy next Thursday morning...if, by chance, it doesn't get here by this weekend so I can get the canopies put back in (and Cypres) does anyone know if someone at Quincy will be able to do it for me? Wow Kris!! Truly what a weekend!!! Kevin is just awesome isn't he? April is completely correct...a cutey, one hell of a pilot, a sweet, fun person and I'm sure if he ever gets a chance to do more then a jump now and again, he'll be an amazing skydiver too! He truly has got to be one of the best jump pilots anywhere! But YOU! You got your JCC/ICC!!! Hot damn!! But I knew you'd get it!

I don't know if it's all a load of bull (haha) or not, but they seem to work :) Thanks for the thread, also. As another newbie that's gonna be at Quincy this year (doesn't look like I'll have time to get any more jumps before next week, so I'm at 56), I found the advice helpful also! Watch for us, I'd be glad to jump with you! Merrick, April and I will be there together. April is a redhead (at the moment anyway *g*), I'm going to have pink hair and I have a nose ring, Merrick has spiky brown hair...you can see all of our pics by our posts here. Okay everyone...I need the chants started again please! My Mirage is still at the manufacturer getting fixed and is *supposed* to be back in time to get the canopies back in so we'll be ready for Quincy next week! I was supposed to have her back by now, but there were some sort of delays and they are saying now that they 'hope to get to it and get it shipped by tomorrow'. Hope my ass!
