Of course, I'll have to do my practice a little at a time since we only get 10,000 up here in OK (you spoiled brats!) but if Merrick will tolerate being my 'base' a little, that's what I'll be doing! I appreciate your responses guys! Truly! I had no idea up til now that I did that. Scotty told me that I have a hard time sitting still, I just go this way and that, and after watching the tape, I saw just what he meant. It was hilarious! Speaking of Odyssey's...does anyone know if the riser cover issues got resolved? I thought at some point people were complaining that they weren't staying closed properly, and after having finally seen one in person, I can see why. Perhaps that's already been fixed on the new ones? Family Photos

While at Houston I learned something about myself...I'm apparently a kamakazi skydiver :) Seriously, if I'm somewhat close to a formation, I can get to it fine. However, if I'm far away from it, but level vertically, I tend to get going way too fast by the time I get to it. I end up going over the formation so as not to take it out. I have always ended up in the base on jumps because of my fall rate and that I haven't got a lot of experience flying into the formation. However, it's a Catch22, I don't have practice, therefore I still suck. I got into some this weekend, but I also almost took out Scottie and Merrick once, before coming back around to get in. I don't know how to slow down! On the DZ.com dive, I was right there (I've been watching the video), but I did the same thing...zoomed forward then couldn't get the breaks. First time, I go over the formation, thereby losing my air and falling way low. I get back up..try going to it again, and try to stop the way I was told to, arms out, legs in, and flip over on my back! Any theories? Maybe legs went in too fast? Scottie offered to help out with it, but who knows when I will get back down there again...prob'ly not til spring. Thanks! Family Photos

What an amazing weekend! Merrick and I each got 7 jumps...more then I have ever had the opportunity to get, and that's even leaving on Sunday afternoon! Everyone there was so incredible! From the DZO, to the skydivers. Slappy was absolutely the greatest...he was so great giving us rides, a place to stay and so much more. He really helped us out with anything we needed. Gawd where to start. Scottie is such a sweetheart! He helped so much with organizing and his food is as great as everyone said it was. I'll never forget him doing my SCR and the say he hangs his head out of the plane at take-off like a dog....LOL! Such a great guy too...and funny!! Ramon attempted to take me head-down. Good luck with that! hehe! We only had it for a few seconds before it started spinning and he let go for me to go into a sit like we'd planned. Now THAT was hilarious!! Big 'ole pants took me on a ride :) I saw Ramon under me on his back and I swear I saw him laughing as I flipped every which way :) I don't know what happened to me on the second day! I was doing pretty well the first day...got to the formations (that was funny Paula!! - we flew around the two of us linked trying to catch the base after the funnel exited on the first day - the base kept moving! Finally we separated and both got in!). The second day I was just zooming this way and that and couldn't seem to get myself slowed down :/ Ah well..it was funny on video! :) I tried to slow down when I was coming in to the formation the way I was told to and ended up flipping backwards..not sure why. Will have to work on that one! Let's see, landed out on one...way out! Merrick, Troy and I all were way out in a field. Lost my Dytter *sob* on that one also...I think in the plane when my helmet fell on the floor cuz I didn't hear it on the way down. The SCR ceremony was a blast! Troy is my SCR buddy now! We froze our a**es off and sweet Paula had a warm shower waiting...thank heavens! Gosh, anyway...a fabulous weekend. I wish so much we lived closer to Houston! But we will be back regardless!! Okay, another funny story about stupid people (totally true..heard it from a co-worker as it had to do with my job back then) Two guys, two girls on a double-date. They decide to do it in the one car...taking turns. One couple finish then the guy gives the condom to the second guy to use, who then turns it inside out and does the nasty with the second girl. Second girl gets pregnant, and as DNA proved, it was by FIRST GUY. Stupid AND cheap! Family Photos
