Skydive Dallas has a nice Skydive University coaching program. When you finish AFF,they ask that you make a minimum of 6 SDU coached jumps before you jump with others (which is what I'd be doing right now if I had the $). The coaches a great and it really helps the learning process. "...just an earthbound misfit, I."

UPDATE: I'm getting a replacement reserve cover shipped here and replaced at no cost to me and my dealer got me the mini bag too.Every thing worked out and everyone is happy.

Everyone has someone special that touches their life that they admirer or respect.It may be someone close or it could be a total stranger. Who is your hero? your role model,that you wish/strive to be more like in your own life? My hero will always be my grandfather. He was a hard working business man all of his life and never let his family need or want for anything.He possessed the biggest, most loving and compassionate heart of anyone I've ever seen.You could never leave a visit with him without knowing exactly how much he loved you. His integrity was a beacon of light for all. He stood fast for his beliefs even if it meant standing alone.He is one of the only men I have and will ever trust completely with anything because he was true, just, honest and faithful no matter what the cost.If I can live my life in knowing I have been a fraction of the person he was I will count myself blessed.If I can go through my life applying the lessons he taught me and sharing the love he gave to me,then I can hold my head high and proud. There are never enough words to describe my thoughts and feelings for him.Even though he was no celebrity and wasnt well known outside of our small town, there will always be a burning pride in my heart and soul for having known and loved him. My grandfather suffered a massive and fatal heart attack on Feb. 6, 2001. He has been gone two years ago today though he is never far from my memory. My grandfather, my Hero, I will always love you. I have to agree with conway on this one and take offense at the stereo type. Please don't blanket an entire state with an opinionated label on account of a few people who have a serious lack of judgement.This is a very sensitive situation and shouldn't be taken lightly. Yeah some people are just assholes. I heard theres a $250,000 fine + 10 yrs in prison for doing it though.They're considering this a federal crime scene so they'll prob hang them with obstruction, tampering w/evidence and a few other charges. When I talked to Bill today he said that the order he took from my dealer over the phone specified blue/black and not solid black. The mistake wasnt in the order. "...just an earthbound misfit, I."

Well,I dont know a master rigger..so prob my best option is to just send it back which still seems like a bit fo a hassle.I'm gonna discuss possible compensation w/them tomorrow and see what they say. Maybe I could get a mini bag made that matches my rig and a tshirt or something..maybe free spare handles? Not sure they'd go for it though. But they were really great and more than efficient and very tactful.Atleast I know the company cares and is trying to make things right.I havent even jumped my new Mirage yet and I'm already on my way to being a very satisfied customer

Well since my dealer appears to be out of town until later in the week I went ahead and called Mirage. They were super nice and really tried to help to the best of their ability.They are going to get in touch with my dealer and we're going to see how to best approach the situation.Hopefully,everything will be worked out by tomorrow. I was told if I sent it back to Mirage I would have it back in about a week or I could choose to have them make another reserve flap and find a master rigger to replace it for me. I can relax and rest easy knowing this isnt going to turn into a big hassle and that Mirage is trying to do everything to my satisfaction.Bill,Connie and Becky were all great and extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you Mirage!!!

I cant jump it right now. I dont have a main for it and I dont have the $ to have it assembled. Also,I dont have my license and the SDU coaches I'm working with want me to work on my canopy skills more before I downsize to the size main that will fit in my rig.I'm not sure when I'll be jumping my new baby. Yeah I'm probably going to keep it as is and just see what they might be willing to do to make up for the mistake. I'm going to double check my order form and the dealer's records with my dealer to be sure where the problem occurred first.Then I'll go from there.I do have to say that when the shipping mix up happened everyone at Mirage was very helpful and cooperative.Anyway, I'm sure it'll all work out.I just need to get back in the air so I can get ready to jump my gear.

Did you talk to Mirage about it? If so how was the response and what options/compensation did they give you? I'm weighing my options.More than likely I'll just keep it as is and see what my dealer and Mirage are willing to do in return. "...just an earthbound misfit, I."
