Good luck getting rid of it.I still have my engagement ring b/c I sure as hell wasnt giving it to him when he put the account in my name (for insurance purposes and b/c I had better credit) and I got stuck w/the rest of the pmts on it too when he left me. So I've still got mine sitting in a box collecting dust as well. You might get it appraised and see if a jeweler would want it or go the ebay route.Who knows? you might get lucky.If you cant get rid of it, keep the stone and have it reset into something else (a necklace maybe?) and give to someone as a gift.Or keep it.I hear diamonds are a good investment.*shrug*Sry,I'm just rambling. She was found guilty of murder and guilty of tampering w/evidence earlier this week in the death of Greg Biggs (windshield murder case).Jury just came back with 50yrs for murder and 10yrs for tampering w/evidence. She will be eligible for parole in 25 yrs. "...just an earthbound misfit, I." -

If I remember from my Criminal Justice prof correctly, the death penalty can be sought by committing 1st degree murder,capital murder,and/or murder while committing a felony. I'm pretty sure on it,but dont feel like getting my stuff from class outta my truck and looking up the details.I'll correct myself if I'm wrong. By TX state law voluntary intoxication cannot be used as a defense but it can negate specific intent and can reduce the degree of the crime. TX Penal Code 49.10.
