Ok the results are in, ballots counted and my mind is made up.I'm goin' to Rantoul baby! I also managed to swing a little more extra cash so its all good and I'm already 1/2 way finished packing. Dammit! I'm still torn on the issue. For starters, the money I have will just be spent on other stupid stuff if not at the convention.This is whats left after I paid my truck payment and double payments on all of my other bills (I never just pay the minimum pmt).So atleast I have taken care of my obligations first.I wouldn't even consider it if my bills weren't paid. Also, the people I'm going with are letting me hitch a ride with them,even driving several hundred miles out of the way to come kidnap me in TX.They've given me the extra space they have at their hotel room aswell.So as for the drive and where to crash all thats already taken care of.I'd really like to help w/the gas/hotel expenses (so I don't feel like a mooch!)but I'm not sure they'll let me since they know how tight my budget is. So basically my only real expenses are food and finding something to do while everyone else is jumping. The main reason I'm not sure I want to go is,I know everyone else will be jumping and I'll be on the ground.I guess maybe I'm afraid of being bored and having a bad time since I'll be alone on the ground watching everyone jump and having a blast.I know that sounds so friggin stupid too. Thank you for that voice of reason Rev, but I've already thought of that and have fixed that little problem.I have a friend who has his JM/I ratings who is gonna help me get my license if I can make it out ot his DZ.If I come up with the $ to cover my slot and rental of a main he said he'd cover his slot.As of right now I have $300 sitting in a savings account strictly for this purpose.I just have some personal issues to resolve and the whole time (i e work this around school) thing to take care of first before I get back in the air.

Ok, heres my situation.Kris has twisted my arm and given me the "poor puppy dog" face trying to get me to make the trek to WFFC.Right now I'm not jumping and couldn't jump at WFFC anyway b/c I'm not licensed qualified.So if I were to go I'd just be hanging around,not jumping and getting into mischief.After paying my bills and other obligations I have about $250 cash in my bank account.So what would you do? Stay home and be responsible or take the $250 and run like hell all the way to the DZ.com tent and live on my credit cards for the week? Help!Please! Eh its water under the bridge now and things turned out well. The insurance compensated us for the damages.I gave my truck to my parents because they wanted to fix it and I got a new truck.they had it fixed (even though more than 3/4 of the body had to be replaced..hood,roof,fenders,all the glass etc.) But now they have a spare vehicle so my dad can just use his 1ton for work and my mom can use it too b/c its better on gas than her SUV.They got a "new" turck so they're happy and I got a new truck so I'm happy.

The storm that defiled my truck happened in mid/late May.I loved that truck.Hell I ran out in the storm and tried to move all the tack/feed/equipment in my dad's shop so that I could maybe squeeze my truck in there,but he had put a damn box blade right in my way so no dice.I had to sit and watch my baby destroyed. It was bad but atleast in the end everything turned out ok.I got a new truck and insurance payed for our other damages.

Hmm I've only owned 3 vehicles in my life and all of them have been trucks.I've never been noticed more/less for driving a truck.Funny, when I started looking for a new ride when my last truck was totalled by a hellacious hail storm(I'm talking baseball sized) everyone laughed when I said I thought about getting a little car like a Mazda RX8 or Nissan 350Z.They all just said I was a "truck person".In the end they were right.I bought a 2003 Chevy Silverado LS. I will admit I love driving around in my dad's truck.Its a big ol' honkin' Chevy 3500 dually 4 door 4X4 diesel. "...just an earthbound misfit, I."

Yeah, there was a guy at SkyFest this weekend w/a cool canopy (cant think of his name right now). His main had white top and bottom skins and all the ribs were rainbow patterned.When looking at this canopy in flight from the ground with the sun shining through it looked like stained glass...very pretty.

SkyFest is great. Lots of people,buncha fun and really hot...think they said we'd top out in the triple digits all weekend. Ran into a few of the Aggies and they seemed to be having a good time.

Man I'm sorry to hear you're upset. I know how the no $ thing goes too..I almost sold my gear so I could pay tuition. As for quitting smoking way to go! I've never had to do something as hard as that,but I understand frustration and being moody.I just started taking medication for Bipolar disorder and I've been off the charts. I'm not going to WFFC either. Just think,this time next year,you can go to WFFC and you'll have a lovely house!

Yeah I had the unisyn hip/chest rings and all the other fun goodies on mine as well.Too bad I've never jumped it (taking a break/personal stuff).*sigh* oh well. Hope you enjoy yours too.

Hi Ron! I'm a student at SDD too. I didn't do my AFF progression there,but Mandy is my SDU coach (isn't she the best?) Maybe one of these days I'll actually get my license lol but right now I'm taking a break for personal reasons.Too bad you won't be there for SkyFest. Welcome to DZ.com.
