I was amazed at how easily and fast my hood (vertical) healed. The actual piercing in terms of pain was about what I had expected but it wasnt a lingering pain and everything was fine within 24-48hrs.I cleaned with antibacterial/antimicrobial soap twice daily and soaked with sea salt every other day. The only thing that sucked was the piercer told me not to play with it or have sex for 6 weeks to be sure it was completely healed before exposing it to "fluids and outside contact". My piercer told me that the best jewelry for this particular piercing was an internally threaded 316LVM grade steel.I've had trouble finding places that actually tell what grade of metal their jewelry is made of and I don't trust those cheapy places in the mall.I was wondering if anyone else's piercer talked extensively about jewelry? ooo! I LOVE my 20GB iPod! I couldn't believe how easy to learn and how user friendly it was. Within about 20 mins of playing with it right out of the box I had the software on my comp and my entire music library in the palm of my hand.Awesome! The sound quality is top notch too, IMHO. The only problem I've had it that the battery doesnt last as long as they say it will and the Belkin car FM transmitter sucks when you can't consistantly pick up one of the required stations.Its a bit inconvenient and frustrating, but I can live with that.Other than that the iPod is a cool toy. Thank you for your information. I honestly don't know if my mom has been innoculated.I know she gets tested for it every year but as far as I know she has never had anything other than a screening. Its not something we can really bring up right now.I'd rather not bring it to forefront if she is distracted with something else.I'd rather her think of anything other than this to ease her mind. All I do know is that my mom has been a nurse since before I was born.I remember her working 2 fulltime jobs and a full time classload when she went back to school for her RN license/degree. Shes the best nurse I know (not just saying that b/c shes my mom..this is what every patient who has been treated by her has said when I met them).Shes seen and done alot over the years working in OB,ER and everywhere in between including nursing homes and now her current love in the field is homehealth and has been for the past 10 yrs or so. But when its enough to scare her its enough to scare me.She doesnt get scared easily and is a very through, cautions professional. I've never seen her so upset over something medical. Maybe its partly b/c this particular patient isn't expected to survive.Thats why she was called to admit him to hospice. I'm sorry for post whoring, but its 4AM, I can't sleep, I'm crying and just don't know what else to do.Heres the problem: My mom is an RN for a home health agency. This week she was told that one of the patients she admitted to her care has Tuberculosis.The problem is, she wasn't told this until AFTER she had visited this patient several times including one visit while the patient had a severe fever and was highly contagious. She has been in contact with the patient and their family who has also been excessively exposed.But yet the fucking hospital failed to inform anyone that they should be wearing specialized masks and NEVER quarantined this patient.After my mom pitched a fit about this, the hospital gave everyone surgical masks which are still useless b/c it doesnt prevent the contraction of this disease.(They were supposed to wear duckbill masks.)Their feeble excuse for quarantine was "we put a note on the patients bed".WTF? If you're by the bed you're obviously by the friggin patient!It wasn't even in the patients chart! My mom's agency had to contact CDC and let them know that my mom and atleast 1/2 a dozen family members have been exposed b/c the hospital failed to do so. Tuberculosis has no cure. My mom has to meet with CDC Monday for a TB screening to determine if she has contracted this disease.Shes scared shitless and has worried so much that the stress has kept her in bed all weekend.We are all very worried about her and upset with the whole situation.I hate whinning for vibes, but this is for my mom's life.Please send any vibes,prayers or thoughts you can spare.We would all greatly appreciate it.Thank you. I know how you feel. I'm not sitting in Eloy right now getting my fill of jello shots for the exact same reasons you listed.I had the $ to go, but just couldn't justify wasting it partying, freezing my ass off and not jumping. For the guys out there that actually appreciate more than just a woman's physical appearance, rock on! For those who hear the first mention of "women" and immediately think of a part of a woman's anatomy, no matter what part, I am disappointed. Because of that shallow mentality, so many real women are alone tonight.This goes equally for women of this mentality as well. There is so much more to a person,man or woman, than their mere physical appearance whether beautiful or not. I'd love to do something like this. I'm a Criminal Justice major and have toyed with the idea of working probation but I'm leaning in a different direction now.I just recently completed a service project inside a TX Youth Commission juvenile correctional facility which houses the most emotionally/psychologically disturbed residents the the state.Its a very interesting learning experience. I've also been tapped for a recommendation to the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocacy) program to basically help decided custody issues similar to CPS.I'm not sure I want to do this because as callous as it seems,I'd rather not be on the victim side of the system.Its too emotionally draining especially when it involves children.I don't think I can detach myself enough to work with abused children. Let us know how your juvenile probation experience goes.I'd be interested in hearing about it.
