I slept late and hung around in my pjs until I got bored and went for a drive.Came home to find my acceptance letter to SHSU in the mail and shared the news with my very ecstatic family.Post whored a bit.Went back out to treat myself in celebration of getting into my #1 college choice, so I bought myself some chocolate, fresh peaches and honey to drizzle over them (yummy!) a bottle of champagne and a cute charm bracelet.After arriving home I lounged around, enjoying my treats (and some chocolate cake my mom made for me) and finished up by watching a movie and getting into a good book. I was originally a Psychology major because human behavior fascinated me.I guess theres a good bit of behavioralism in CJ too.I havent specialized my major yet, but I'm leaning towards Criminology and I have the chance to minor or Psychology,Sociology, Forensic Psychology, Victimology or a slew of other similar fields. I guess I've just been around it all my life b/c my grandfather was good friends with our county sheriff and several of the sheriff's deputies,cops, emergency corps, Texas Rangers etc. So I was always around law enforcement in a positive light. I even volunteered on the sheriff's campaign staff for his last 3 term elections and will be doing so again this year.When my grandfather passed away in 2001, of the 200+ people at his funeral almost half were in a law enforcement uniform.To me that was a testament to the strong moral character my grandfather possessed and was know for and thats something I'll never forget. The final triggering factor came 2 years ago when I was in a very abusive relationship with someone I later found out to be a compulsive liar, thief and drug addict. After recovering from that I just had a personal resolution to make sure people like him don't get away with what they do and help to prevent the harm they do others.

I just got my acceptance letter to Sam Houston State University! SHSU's College of Criminal Justice (my major) is ranked 3rd in the nation! If you'll notice I said it was just above my waist.Before I cut it,my hair stopped about 4 inches above my waist. And it was layered when it was cut,so the front is chin length, but the back stops at my shirt collar. They measured 12inches,pulled it into a ponytail and cut just above the hair tie.Afterwards they trimmed and layered it into the style that was chosen.So obviously logic would show it is not a foot from waist to chin. Well, it looks like I wont be doing anything for Valentine's Day again this year. I was going to see if I could get some girl friends together and watch movies or go out,but they all have plans. So I'll prob curl up with some chocolate and/or some fresh peaches covered in honey (a new fav of mine) and watch movies. Its probably for the best since the weather is supposed to be crap here tomorrow..including an almost certain chance of snow.(yes thats right I said snow..and I live in TX!) it snowed almost an inch today and I havent seen that since I visited NY in 2000/2001.It'll all be a brown puddle within hours though.*shrug* "...just an earthbound misfit, I."

LOL well it is still a good length,but remember that this is new to me.When I woke up this morning it was almost at my waist!I've had long hair for 21 years. Grow your hair out long enough to cut 12inches off and see how attached you get to it. Its weird though b/c its so much lighter,fluffier (is that a word?) and has more body to it.It was so long before that it weighed it down and looked thin and stringy.Now it has a mind of its own and does this little flippy thing and part of it curls in around my face and the rest flips out in the back.Crazy but kinda cute. ..oh and I use several different types of conditioner just depending on my whims..mostly Paul Mitchell but I like Infusium23 leave-in (spray) conditioner or Dove weightless moisturizer since you just have to know. My hair! Earlier today I sat down in a salon chair and had a little over 12 inches of my hair cut off. When I walked in,my hair was just above my waist and now its chin-length. Several weeks ago, some of the girls started talking about a charity called Locks of Love. This is a nonprofit organization that makes prosthetic hair pieces for under privileged children with long term medically related hair loss. So I decided to donate.I've never had my hair above my shoulders until today. I guess I'm still in shock but I hope I'll get used to it (or it will grow back quickly if I dont get used to it). I'm just glad I can contribute to such a worthy cause even though I can't afford an actual monetary donation. If anyone wants to know more about this charity, they can go to Locks of Love "...just an earthbound misfit, I."

I ended up with a Gateway M350S. Its nothing super fancy but its just right for me and my computer needs for college. I will say Gateway's customer service is outstanding! They have done everything to be sure I'm a satisfied customer.
