6: back flying, then a 4-way scrambles meet where my team took 2nd, and then my first tandem for a friend who was getting his rating. Front rides are scary! This shit, right here, is OK

I spent $4000 on my first rig, but I had to buy a brand new Cypres. I definitely feel like everything was worth the money, and I can likely get back a lot of that cost when I go to buy a new rig. This shit, right here, is OK

I also have weak shoulders. I think I first injured it lifting, and then made it worse by not giving it time to heal. I think the hardest part of a skydive on the shoulder is taking grips. The other day I was jumping and we had a 3-way round built waiting for the 4th person to get in. He comes barreling in from behind me (he's a freeflyer) and takes out the formation. My shoulder popped when it funneled, but thankfully didn't come out. This shit, right here, is OK

I did a hula hoop dive for mine. We had 12 people in the jump and about 50% of us made it through the hoop. Other suggestions would be any sort of naked jump. Naked tracking dive would be fun This shit, right here, is OK

It's important to keep logging so you can meet the requirements for ratings and other licenses. Any licensed jumper who was on the plane or the pilot can sign it. This shit, right here, is OK

Only 3 jumps this week. Got so sunburned at the Dayton Air Show that I don't think I could have slid my factory diver on This shit, right here, is OK

You could use the Brian Germain method of folding your pilot chute. It basically ensures that your PC is cocked. Not to mention the other benefits it offers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axCeYlY_6io This shit, right here, is OK

Kicking legs on exit (yes it's short!! ;)
burtonjm replied to skyflower_bloom's topic in Safety and Training
I don't feel like tunnel time would have helped me with kicking my legs on exit because once I was off the hill I didn't have any problems with it. Tunnel time is great however for improving your flying skills This shit, right here, is OK -
How do you advise landing with a shoulder out? No flare PLF? This shit, right here, is OK

Kicking legs on exit (yes it's short!! ;)
burtonjm replied to skyflower_bloom's topic in Safety and Training
I had a lot of problems kicking on my exits when I started. I would kick, do a back flip, and then be stable. I think the biggest thing that helped me was making a conscious effort to keep my legs out and look up at the plane as I fell away. One thing one of my instructors told me was that if I felt like I was about to flip over, do everything I could to avoid it. Arch harder, keep those legs out, look up at the plane. The next floater exit I did after I heard that I felt like I was about to flip over. I arched some more, extended my legs, and to my surprise stayed stable all the way down the hill! Hopefully that helps. It will take a little time but you will get it. This shit, right here, is OK -
And that's the good side of the airport to land out! Scott, you wouldn't happen to have the video from the 4-way we did where I got shoved into the door would you? This shit, right here, is OK

Launching 4-way from that King Air is tough. Here's a map of where I landed out on my 3rd jump on my canopy. Also highlighted your landing too. This shit, right here, is OK
