    That people should not have principles and ideals to live by. Follow the crowd and never challenge the status quo. I am pretty sure I’ve posted this before, but it is interesting what yardstick you measure yourself against. I grew up in Zimbabwe and was not racist but South Africans were. Then after 10 years in the UK I realised how racist Zimbabweans (including myself are). It is still something I have to fight myself over, I have automatic thoughts and biases that I have to challenge myself over. Having moved from the UK to Australia I find myself once again in a very racist society - people here have very strong views on the indigenous population.

    I suspect most people believe they are central. Same as people think they are above average most of the time. Mental filtering means that we have a distorted view of our actions. I find it laughable though that he thinks he centrist. The slightest doubt on any dem and he piles it on. No matter how fucked up Trump is there is ALWAYS an excuse for it.

    Pray? IF god is real then he should protect you all, unless of course it’s part of his divine plan to have you massacred? My parents were missionaries and they certainly gave god the glory for all the massacres in Africa where we were as part of the divine plan. They didn’t pick up guns in church to stop it. Alternatively stop preaching a message of hatred and division and live by Christ’s true message. That said you live in a violent society. I don’t know the roots of why the USA is so broken. Hatred and fear seem prevalent in the USA compared to virtually any other place I have either lived or visited. Your TV is saturated with violent movies and shows. I’ve always found it ironic how close you in the Southern states are to the people of Iran and the Middle East.

    I think America is fucked either way in November. I can’t see a good outcome, if he loses Trump will go wild along with the ‘patriots’ like Ron and who knows how that would play out. If he wins, Trump will take it as a green light for more of his disgusting behaviour and 4 more years of his crap.

    I was reading a BBC article on the US senate elections and it struck me that the measure of likelihood of winning was the size of the funds raised. It’s probably too broken to fix, but I’d imagine if you could move from money to policy it would be a big step forward. Also in this day and age of social media I imagine a clever and savvy person could get a groundswell of support with very little cost

    Sadly a side effect of American culture is there is little regard for government structure and advice. I don’t know how it is going to play out, but hopefully not too badly for all of you
