  1. >First, learn to stand. Birdman suits look really cool in the air, but kinda >stupid on the ground, so fer cryin' out try to look cool. So far, these >guys don't quite have it. Wasn't it Chuck who was complaining that it looks really dorky posing in wingsuits with the "Batman spreads his wings"-position? I'm starting to believe it's impossible to look cool while wearing a wingsuit on the ground. >Second, this may be a sign if you've tracked a bit too low on your >first jump. Note the guy on the far right praying. What? The telltale sign of laying face down in the dirt? >Lastly, until you've mastered heading control, you might want to wear >a helmet. Hmm. Someone might want to point out to these guys that building a star, while maybe not impossible, is going to be significantly more difficult than say, a wegde or a row. As a (serious)side-note, I've been waiting for someone to build a 4-way diamond with wingsuits. Has somebody done it or is there some blindingly obvious reason why it's not possible? Erno
  2. >people that walk through the mall or stores so SLOWLY. How do they >ever get anything done? Then they stop in mid-walk in the middle of >the aisles and just stand there Yeah! They bug me as well. Not as much the going slow-bit, but the sudden stops in the middle of the aisle! Do these people slam on their brakes in the middle of the freeway too?
  3. >>some sort of traditional lighting system that can be used as both >>white light and then puta filter on it for conversion to IR/ > >Such a thing exists....? Sounds weird to me too. I would assume that just about any traditional lightbulb would emit some amount of IR as well, and that one could maybe have a filter that filters out all visible light, but I don't think that would be a very efficient way of producing IR light. 4. >Or, it is also possible to have a few drinks and still be able to >get out of the bed in the morning and go to a test. MWAHHAHHAAHAA! Yeah right, "a few drinks". I've tried that a couple of times. Doesn't work for me... Erno
  5. >They used to do it just by showing up, striping down, and starting >the shoots... but I guess that gets hard with the bigger groups. I think it's definitely going to be easier to arrange something like that with a few hundred people when the authorities are working for you, not against you... They did the shoot early in the morning, something like 5am if my memory serves me correct. And 5am in August is not going to be particularly warm in Finland
  6. This guy just did a photo shoot in Helsinki. It was a major hassle, they closed off a few blocks of the city center, and had dozens of police-officers making sure that no perverts get to the closed area... Erno
  7. >BTW - what is the slider up opening? do you not use the slider up >when base jumping? A "Slider up"-jump is done from higher objects(4 seconds freefall or more). The slider is packed up like with skydiving canopies. "Slider down" or "Slider removed" jumps are made from low objects(up to 4 secs freefall). The slider is either packed at the lower end of the lines or removed altogether. Removing the slider makes the openings much faster. Erno
  8. Hey, slow progress. Concepts like "clicking" and "double clicking" are starting to make sense. The difference between "desktop" "word-processor" and "web-browser" isn't so easy though...
  9. I'm trying to teach my mother the mysteries of Internet and Word processing.
  10. >would you jump in these wind conditoins. hahah! *posting after two beers* Yeah, why the hell not?
  11. I have two jobs really. Weekdays 8-16, I'm a webmaster for a government office. Boring beyond comprehension. The good bit is that I get to spend most of my time at DZcom, since no-one really knows what I should do or how long it should take. Second, I do some php-programming paid by the hour on evenings and weekends. That's sort of cool, when I get to implement some new features to software. Sucks that I have to debug them too... But that's something I actually like to do, since I don't have to do it all day every day.
  12. I don't know about such a site, but if you have a specific question, I'm sure you'll get an answer here. For more information, I suggest you do a search on the forums. Erno
  13. >I hate my 40kbps connection.... Whuffo you ain't downloading it?
  14. >I think what really made the band was Slashes guitar riffs. Absolutely. >I used to be a fan of G-N-R but Axl seems a little hot headed I thought that Axl was the only one left in the band... So what kind of lineup are they touring with now? Erno
  15. >This is amusing. Every time somebody posts about an MS Windows computer >crash or about a virus they got, it is absolutely inevitable that one >of the responses is along the lines of, "That crap doesn't happen with >Linux." Well, it doesn't really. The thing is, once you get Linux running, it's stable as bedrock. But, it can be ridiculously difficult to get running... >I'm not picking on you personally, but I'm sure you can see the humor >in the role reversal. Is this when I say, "That crap doesn't happen with > Windows"? Please do... but remember me the next time you stare at the blue screen of death...
  16. >LOL! That pong video was frickin' hilarious!! Second that... The twist in the end was great! >BTW, is that flight card the same one they used in Fight Club? Pretty similar at least... I wonder who's done the original? Erno
  17. >what the hell is that they are rolling around it? Hmm. The name of the file is tcr-ramen...

  19. I have some experience with Unix/Linux machines, but this one I can't hack: I can't get the printer(Epson stylus C42 UX) to work. Princonf-gui recognizes the printer at /dev/usb/lp0, and makes a new print-queue as requested, but there are no changes in /etc/printcap. Attempt to print a test-page returns "There was an error trying to print the test-page". Well duh. Any ideas?
  20. >I agree that 14 is too young to have a cell phone. I don't really have an opinion on that one, but here it's not uncommon for kids aged 10 or 11 to have cell phones. I'd imagine that almost everyone has one by the time they are 15... Erno
  21. >Guys I know what causes this. This happens when I change/update >the templates that drive the site during peak time Don't be shy about about it, just say "This happens when I make people purple during peak time" Erno
  22. >>Yeah! Commodore rocks! Still have one stored under my bed... >> > >Dude... you got to let go.... Let go? What are you talking about? I just bought it 2 years ago...
